Ok, is everyone ready to begin the chase scene?
Peter: (Nods) We have to help Michael and find the equipment! :(
(Mike whimpers in his sleep. :( )
Micky: Ready!
Davy Me too!
(We open with a romp, as "You Told Me' blares over a shot of the MonkeeMobile riding down the dusty desert highway...with the Mustang speeding close behind.)
(Peter holds Mike in his lap. Mike occasionally whimpers or snaps, but he's mostly quiet. Valerie points out the Mustang.)
*Micky does his best to lose the Mustang, while Davy pushes buttons.*
(Valerie grins, fascinated. You never know what'll come out when you push buttons in something Micky built.)
(The Mustang rams into the side of the MonkeeMobile, making a pretty good-sized dent. Valerie leans out the side of the car and chews them out in un-Aristocratic language we thankfully cannot hear.)
(Both vehicles turn off the main road and onto the desert. We see the occupants of both cars being tossed around. Valerie chews MICKY out.)
*Davy covers Micky's ears so he can pay attention to his driving. Davy chews out VALERIE for interrupting Micky's driving.*
(Peter gets between Valerie and Davy before a fight breaks out. They're all supposed to be friends...and they need to concentrate on the road, especially since the Mustang is gaining on them again!)
(The Mustang sprays gravel and sharp rocks, trying to puncture Ursula's tires.)
*Micky curses at the Mustang. So does Ursula.*
(A little broom pops out of the side of Ursula and sweeps away the rocks.)
(Alex smirks and pushes a button that says "fireworks." He shoots firework missiles at the MonkeeMobile.)
(Davy gets to push the button. A mechanical "hand" reaches out of the side of the car and tosses a bucket of water on the missiles, shorting them out.)
*Micky pushes a button. A rocket shoots out of the trunk of the MonkeeMobile. When the rocket lands, it creates a crater in the sand. The Mustang falls into the crater as the song comes to an end.*
Valerie: (She and Lauren clap) Very nice.
Peter: (Looks behind them) That'll keep them for a while. Even Alex won't be able to get out of that!
(We switch back over to the Mustang, whose occupants are NOT happy.)
Madame: Is there not SOMETHING you can do? You are mechanical genius!
Alex: I'm already working on it. We’ll be out of this in a few minutes.
Madame: But then, they will not be there!
Alex: I know that!
Sheila: (Smirks) We don't need to go after them. (Brief grumble) We can't. Their entire neighborhood knows what we look like. We'd be chased out before we could get down the street.
Madame: Then how will we regain wolf?
Sheila: THEY'LL come to US when they can't get the equipment back or restore their friend to normal.
Madame: (Also smirks) That's right. And we will be ready.
Sheila: It should give us plenty of time to prepare your men and our...crew.
Madame: And to get car from hole.
Sheila: Alex, why don't we just...imagine it out?
Alex: *sighs* Fine. I was hoping to not have to strain myself, but it's the quickest way. *concentrates; the Mustang is back on the sand*
Sheila: Good. Let's get back there and plan. I'm sure they're already working on a way to get to US.
Sheila: (Grins at Alex) Oh, we'll ready the troops.
Alex: Better believe it.
(The Mustang turns around and goes in the other direction. The camera cuts from them to the gate in front of the Cartwright Mansion as the MonkeeMobile turns into the circular driveway leading to the house. Cut again to the Mansion interior, the very same parlor room where the Monkees once auditioned for Valerie in "One Man Shy" and Valerie and Chrissy were interrupted playing cards in "Nine Times Two.")
Valerie: (As Peter gently lays Mike on the couch) Thank GOD my father is on a business trip! I'll barely get away with explaining this to the servants, much less him!
Peter: Poor Michael! (Looks at the others) What are we going to do? He's hurting and confused! He doesn't know what to think or who...or what...he is!
Valerie: First of all, we know where the equipment is.
Peter: We do?
Valerie: This is Sheila and Alex we're dealing with, Peter. They probably hid it at their ghost town hide-out in Arizona.
Peter: Oh.
Valerie: What I want to know is, what does that Madame lady have to do with this, and why target Honeywell and the CIS?
Micky: Hey, guys, you remember the first time we dealt with Honeywell? We were dealing with those two Russians and the microfilm...
Peter: (Nods) Boris and Madame.
Valerie: That sort-of sounded like a Russian accent on the other redhead with Sheila and Alex.
Micky: I'll bet that's her.
Peter: (Nods) Yeah, that was her. Even I recognized her. She didn't want my daffodils!
Valerie: I won't ask how she knows Sheila and Alex. If she was involved with anything remotely nasty, she probably knows them. I'll bet she was one of Zero's original contacts when he sent all those people after you a few years ago.
Peter: (Closes his eyes) Wasn't Honeywell technically the one who caught Boris after Mike took him down and we sat on him? Madame couldn't have been happy about that.
Valerie: You SAT on a Russian spy?
Peter: He kept throwing us around!
Micky: And Mike was the one who swapped the film!
Peter: But Madame was in prison in China!
Valerie: Her sentence must not have been very long, or she escaped.
Micky: More than likely escaped.
Peter: (Strokes Mike) This must have been how they decided to get revenge on Michael.
Valerie: Mike's more vulnerable in that form...and Sheila knows it.
Davy: We need to do something, mates, and quick.
Peter: But what about Honeywell? Why him?
Valerie: The Devils wouldn't care about him unless he interfered with them...but if this Madame is the Russian spy you guys and the CIS sent to prison...
Micky: He's as much to blame as we are.
Peter: Especially now that he's the head of the CIS! (He runs his hands over Mike) What are we going to do about... (tugs at the collar) Hey! What's this?
Micky: What's what?
Valerie: (Groans) One of those slave collars Sheila and Alex think are amusing. Peter, get if off, please. It's probably what's keeping Mike a wolf!
Micky: Can you get it off, Pete?
Peter: (Tugs at it) No, it's not coming off!
Valerie: Maybe you need to cut it.
Micky: *takes out his dagger* Want me to try?
Peter: (Nods) Please, Mick. That dagger is the sharpest thing I know of. Just be careful.
Micky: I'll be careful. *leans over Mike and tries to cut the collar, being extremely careful* Hmm, this one is a bit tougher than the last time. Let’s try... *starts a different method, still being careful* It won't cut!
Valerie: You're kidding! What the HECK kind of collar is that?
Peter: We've gotta get it off of him! He's hurting!
Micky: The only other thing we can try is to blue light it off.
Peter: I can do that. (He closes his eyes. There's a blue light around Mike's collar...but the collar is still there when the light subsides) Oh man! That's one stubborn collar!
Davy: It's more than stubborn. :P
Valerie: One of Alex's "experiments." :p
Micky: Exactly. :P
Peter: I put a light sleeping spell on Michael while we were in the car. He won't be getting up for a while. I'm hoping he'll just sleep this off, but there doesn't seem to be a way we can reverse this spell.
Valerie: Yes, there is. (She goes to the phone) We're going to infiltrate enemy headquarters, and we're going to need help. (She picks up the phone) Hello, Myrt? Yes, I'm fine. Get me the Dolenz's house. (Sighs) Yes, THAT Dolenz, Micky Dolenz of the Monkees Dolenz. (Pause) Myrt, I'll get you his autograph later! (Blushes) Yes, I'll tell him that. Just get me his house.
Peter: Sounds like you have a fan, Mick.
Micky: *grins* Remind me to pay a special visit. ;)
*Lauren just shakes her head.*
Valerie: Hello, Honeywell? Yes...oh, dear. Well, I can...yes, I will. I'll tell them that. (Puts her hand on the phone and turns to Micky and Lauren) Sound like your little angels are driving Honeywell up several walls.
*Micky and Lauren exchange looks and shrug.* ;)
Valerie: And...yes? (Raises her eyebrows) Um, yes, I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it. Kids will be kids. (Looks at Micky and Lauren) You owe Honeywell a new suit and new cufflinks. The suit is covered in crayon wax and baby food, and Little Mick wanted to see what would happen if he flushed the cufflinks down the toilet.
*Lauren slaps her forehead. Micky looks like he's trying to not laugh. She elbows him, seeing the look on his face.*
(Peter puts a hand over his mouth to stifle his laughter.)
*Davy laughs outright.*
Valerie: (Trying to stifle her own laughter) Honeywell, I know you can't be too happy with us right now, but we're going to need your expertise as something other than a babysitter. Is there any way you can get in touch with Mr. Desmond without getting into trouble? You know, the fellow who makes the explosives?
*Micky grins.*
Valerie: We're going to need his gadgets and your men. (Nods) Whomever you can round up that'll come with you. (Sighs) We'll meet you at the house. We'll bring the twins and Leah over here. My sister's nanny will watch them.
Peter: (Indicates the wolf on his lap) What about Michael? :(
Valerie: Peter, you stay here and keep an eye on him and the kids.
Peter: (Nods) I will, Val. He's in real pain, and we know what Sheila and Alex love to do to children and animals.
Valerie: We'll take Ursula, though, and we'll need to imagine over some of our equipment from the Caves, including those Imagination Power guns and Micky's energy-draining gun.
Peter: A Mission: Ridiculous!
Peter: Call Daph. Lizzie should be in bed by now, and we can bring her over here.
Valerie: (Grins at the gang) Ok, folks, I'll call Daph, and we'll be ready to go!
(Cut back to the MonkeeMobile on the road, briefly stopping at a non-descript building in LA to pick up Daphne and fill her in. Once again, we see the MonkeeMobile on the road, then parked next to what looks like an old high school. The group meet Honeywell in the lobby...or what's left of him. His suit is covered with orange and green goo and markings of various colors.)
Honeywell: (Makes a face) Hello, everyone. Mr. and Mrs. Dolenz, your children are the messiest, most uncontrollable beings I've ever encountered!
Valerie: (Ignores his fussing) Why are we here, Inspector Honeywell? And why is it so quiet? Where's your students?
Honeywell: They grew up years ago. This high school building's been abandoned for ten years, since the local high school was moved into a larger facility down the road. It's the perfect place to work on new equipment and...(There's a massive "boom" that shakes the room; sighs) ...Experiments.
Micky: *grins* Now that's what I wanted to hear.
Lauren: Only you, Mick.
Valerie: How were you able to get us and you in here when you're suspected of grand theft larceny and being a traitor?
Honeywell: (Blushes) Ur, um, well, this isn't exactly authorized, but Desmond said he'd help anyway...
Valerie: Wonderful. So someone may kick us out any minute?
Honeywell: Not if we can avoid the guards. (Stops before a door with "Science Labs 1" written on the glass) Ahh, here we are.
(The room is huge. Shelves and desks are strewn with equipment of every kind...and the remains of some equipment. There's still smoke in the room. Desmond, looking more-or-less the same as he did in "Land of the Rising Sun," opens a window to let the smoke escape.)
Honeywell: Desmond, what WAS this?
Desmond: A new kind of concentrated explosive device for narrow crevices, my boy. (Pulls out the remains of a narrow, thin tube) It fits into this tube, yet it can destroy everything in a ten-mile radius. (Makes a face) Or at least, it's supposed to. Barely make a dent in here. Needs more gelling.
*Micky is drooling.*
Honeywell: Desmond, I'm glad you agreed to this.
Desmond: I never believed you were the one who stole that equipment. The Nesmith boy has no motive (under his breath) and you haven't got the brains.
(Valerie nods in agreement.)
Honeywell: I rounded up as many men as I could for this expedition, but we'll need to be well-armed. The perpetrators are said to be extremely dangerous. We've handled one before. I believe you recall a "Madame" Elena Orinisky?
Desmond: (Nods, puttering around the chemistry set) Yes, I do recall hearing that name. A Russian spy who escaped to Red China and was caught, if I remember correctly.
Honeywell: She was apparently released or escaped from prison in China and has recruited two known criminals to aid her in her newest spying endeavors.
Desmond: (Nods and turns to the group) Right. In that case, we'll need our most heavy-duty items. (Indicates the shoe) See this shoe? (Sighs) No, there's no phone in it. But it does hide (opens a compartment in the bottom of the shoe) a multi-use Swiss Army knife and pocket flashlight.
Valerie: That could be fun.
*Micky is still drooling. Lauren holds a bucket to catch the drool.*
Desmond: (Shows everyone his watch) See this watch? Looks normal, doesn't it? (Pushes a button; the watch shoots a red laser between a surprised Davy and surprised and delighted Micky) Can shoot small laser blasts up to ten feet.
Valerie: (Looks at Lauren) Should we let Micky have that one?
(Desmond's mouth continues to move as "Do You Feel It Too?" begins and the group spreads out. Valerie looks bored and picks up a couple of flowers to smell them. Desmond grabs them from her and throws a stem at the wall. It sticks in the wall. Valerie moves back and over to another part of the room.)
(Micky wanders over to Desmond's chemistry set. Desmond grabs a beaker full of a bubbling green fluid from him. He pours the fluid on the floor...and it eats straight through the floor, showing the basement underneath!)
*Micky clearly mouths "Wow!" He motions as though he wants another beaker of the same stuff to try the same trick.*
(Desmond shakes his head "No!," shoos him away, and runs over to Davy, who is nearly decapitated by a suit with a knife in it. Honeywell walks over as Micky eyes the set hungrily.)
(Valerie and Daphne play with necklaces and earrings that reflect people behind you. Daphne sings into the pendant on her necklace.)
*Micky begins to mix chemicals while he's been "left unattended." By the time Honeywell realizes this, he's finished making a mixture which explodes in a puff of smoke in Honeywell's face. When it clears, Honeywell's left with black soot on his face.*
(Honeywell groans and wipes the soot off on his already-ruined sleeve. Desmond hands him a towel.)
(Davy takes a picture of the group with a camera. Turns out the camera has a very, VERY bright flash. Everyone walks away blinking. Honeywell walks into a door.)
(The group end by Desmond as he brings them over to a large machine.)
Desmond: If you've all had your fun, I can finally show you this... (Looks up - sees Mick still messing with the chemistry set) Get him away from there!
(Davy drags Micky back over to the group.)
Micky: What?
Desmond: If you've all had your fun, can we continue with this?
Honeywell: Go on.
Desmond: Very well. You'll all be equipped with these. (He turns on the machine and pulls out a smaller machine) They've been working on these in Japan as well. They're called "Transistor Radios." Compact, and yet they can play any radio frequency up to 30 miles. (Opens the radio) Also plays smaller tape spools.
Valerie: (Grins) We'll have to discuss that. I'd love to hear what Headquarters music sounds like on those.
Desmond: You'll not only be able to keep track of each other, but what is going on elsewhere in the building and on other frequencies, too.
Daphne: So we'll be able to get the drop on them without their knowing.
Desmond: Precisely, young lady.
Honeywell: (Looks at his watch) I have to get going. I need to meet my men and get changed. (Looks at the others) We'll meet you at the rendezvous point in Arizona at 7PM.
Valerie: Yes sir. We'll bring our back-up men as well.
Honeywell: Good. See you then, Mrs. Thorkleson.
(They follow him out. Daphne leans over Valerie.)
Daphne: Back-up men?
Valerie: We're going to need more help, so I borrowed some of my father's servants and a few Headquarters musicians who are buddies of Peter's.
Daphne: Oh, that should be good.
Valerie: (More serious; to the others) We're going to have to be on our guard. This equipment involves lasers, and I don't even want to contemplate what Alex could do with those.
Daphne: Right. (Looks at the guys) Come on. We have to get ready for our "Mission: Impossible!"
