Ok, while we're all digesting, who's ready to start our very first holiday-themed role-play story? :D
Peter: Me! :D
Mike: I'm ready, darlin'.
Micky: Me!! :)
Lauren: Me, too!
(We start nine months after the events of "Ooh Baby Baby." The camera shows the MonkeeCave, empty of all but Ursula the Crystal, who is dark. After a moment, she lights up. There's a whooshing sound, and we hear a babble of happy voices. Emma and Mike walk in, hand in hand, followed by Peter and Valerie.)
Ursula: (Glows blue) Hello, my warriors! I'm glad to see all of you so happy.
Peter: Hi, Ursula! (Grins) You're not going to believe the offer we just got!
Ursula: They want you to appear in a new rock-and-roll movie?
Mike: Not the movies, but still pretty cool. An old friend of ours called us and offered to put us on a Christmas variety special he's in charge of.
Emma: It's just a small, local, independent station, but it's a chance to be seen by at least the San Fernando Valley community. :)
Ursula: That's wonderful!
Valerie: My father is sponsoring the special. :)
Peter: The others should be along any minute.
Ursula: Oh, yes, I'll finally get to meet Micky and Lauren's lovely children. I've been wanting to see them for a long time.
Mike: (As two more cars are heard outside) I think I hear Lauren's car.
Emma: And there's the jeep.
Micky: *from outside* Man, I'll be glad when these kids're walking!
Lauren: Oh, Mick. *chuckles*
(Everyone chuckles, including Ursula.)
*Micky and Lauren enter. Micky carries Little Mick. Lauren carries Shelly.*
Ursula: (Pride in her voice) Oh, Lauren, Micky, they're so beautiful.
Lauren: Thank you, Ursula!
Micky: *grins* Thanks, Urse!
Davy: (As he and Daphne follow) They're both great kids. We've all watched them at least once.
Micky: But boy, do they eat!
Lauren: Wonder where they got THAT from?
Ursula: Please bring them to me and let them touch me. I won't hurt them. (Turns giggly pink as the others laugh) I suspect it runs in the family. Micky's ancestor Georgiano was often teased about his voracious appetite!
Mike: Yeah...for EVERYTHING.
Micky: No kidding. *they bring the twins to Ursula*
Davy: Including... (Daphne clamps her hand over his mouth). ;)
*Micky shoots Davy a look.*
(The twins place their tiny hands on the crystal. There's a small red light and a small pink light.)
Ursula: (Softly, a smile in her voice) Yes, little Huntress, little Savage, how are you? My, but you are cute, you are. It's been so long since Auntie Ursula played with children. :)
Micky: Whoa!
Mike: So, they do...
Ursula: Have your powers? Quite, but it will be a very long time before they can truly harness them.
Lauren: *nods* That's understandable.
Ursula: The only powers they'll be aware of for several years is their empathy power. As twins, they have a natural link to each other that I suspect may be heightened by the powers. They will also have the same link with their future soulmates that all of you have with yours, when they find them.
Micky: *grins* Groovy!
*Lauren rolls her eyes, but she's grinning, too.*
Daphne: (Takes Michelle's hand; she grasps her pinky) Hey, Shelly, you're a Huntress, just like your Aunt Daphne. How does that feel?
*Shelly smiles and makes a few unintelligible sounds.*
Davy: (Tickles little Micky's stomach) And you're a little Savage. I could 'ave told Urse THAT. You're just as 'ungry as your da, and just as noisy, too.
*Little Micky laughs.*
Daphne: She thinks it's groovy.
Davy: Think 'e does, too.
Lauren: They'll be talking before we know it, and they won't stop once they do. ;)
(Everyone laughs again, including Ursula.)
*Micky sticks his tongue out.*
Mike: Somethin' ELSE that runs in the family.
(Mike takes Micky aside next to Ursula as the others coo over the babies.)
Mike: (Quietly) Ursula, have you heard anything from your sister lately?
Ursula: (Sighs) She's still out there, and gathering power. She was drained of much of her power by your "love-in" back in March, so much that it's taken her this long to recover. As far as I can tell, she also inherited Uncle's considerable fortune and has been doing her best to handle the business aspects of it.
Micky: Wonderful. *makes a face* :P
Ursula: (Directs her glow towards the group who stand over the babies, cooing and making silly faces at them) I wonder...perhaps we should warn them...
Mike: No, Urse. Not during the holidays. We don't need to upset the girls or Pete in particular.
Micky: No kidding.
Ursula: You'll have to tell them SOMETIME. They need to be warned. I don't want to see...(softer)...to see any of you hurt again like you were in March.
Mike: Ursula, I promise, we WILL tell them. Just not now. This is supposed to be a happy time of year, and after everything that's happened, we don't need them scared and worried.
Micky: AFTER the holidays. Then we'll tell them.
Ursula: (Sighs) Fine. I've been a crystal so long...it's been many, many years since I've celebrated anything.
Mike: Ursula, how long HAVE you been in there?
Ursula: (Quietly) Four hundred and ninety-eight years in May, by your calender.
Micky: *whistles* Wow.
Ursula: You must remember, I'm technically a demon. We live a long, long time. Uncle was thousands of years old when he passed on in March.
Mike: Ursula, how DID you end up in there?
Micky: Yeah?
Ursula: I mentioned this when you freed my voice. Your ancestors and I were battling my uncle and sister and one of their minions and his followers. I died in the battle. Sir Robert knew Uncle and Shelia would take my soul, so he convinced his men to combine their powers with his to shield my soul in this crystal. (Near-sob) M...my sister killed me...she thought I was crazy for leaving Uncle, and had always sought his approval.
Micky: Oh, man...
Ursula: She and Uncle were furious when they found out I'd endowed the eight of you with the powers to fight their evil influence. Shelia promised she'd bring my head and my soul on a silver platter for Uncle and somehow get control of the rest of you. She got my head...and, as you know, eventually got your ancestors.
Mike: But never got your soul.
Ursula: They knew they'd hidden my soul, but not WHERE they hid it until recently.
Micky: Geez.
Ursula: I know Shelia will try to control all of us, including me, again. You must be cautious.
Mike: We'll be as careful as we can, Urse. It shouldn't be hard right now. I can't imagine this is your sister's favorite time of year anyway.
Ursula: (Laughs) Oh, yes, Shelia LOATHES the Christmastide season! All of the warmth and caring displayed during the festivities tend to weaken her powers and make her rather cross.
Micky: *grins* Then she wouldn't wanna be within a hundred yards of me.
Mike: He and Pete would kill her outright. They LOVE this time of year.
Ursula: You all certainly seem happy. I can feel the love and happiness coming from all of you. :)
Micky: We are happy. *smiles*
Mike: Yeah, Em and Pete already decorated the Pad.
Micky: I started decorating the house back in July.
(Mike rolls his eyes; Ursula chuckles.)
Micky: What? I'm serious!
Ursula: I HAVE missed celebrating the Christmastide season!
Mike: Urse, are you sure you don't want us to move you to Malibu Beach?
Ursula: (Sighs) I don't think that's a good idea. Where would you put me there...not to mention the equipment?
Micky: There's a lotta room at the house.
Ursula: (Sighs) Thank you for the offer, Micky, but I'm afraid it wouldn't work. You forget, I AM a crystal. I would be an easy target for thieves. That's how Uncle lost me. One of his men thought I was valuable and stole me.
Mike: Well, maybe we could make it more secure in here than just you blinking your sides off. That's fine when WE'RE here, but we need something for when you're alone or with just one of us.
Micky: Hey, yeah... *eyes light up; grins widely* :D
Ursula: I'm almost afraid to ask what you have in mind.
Mike: Well, for one thing, we could keep the big communicator here on all the time to keep you from getting lonely. It'll make it easier for US to talk to each other when WE'RE here, too.
Micky: Right! We could rig up some "security features." *waggles his eyebrows*
Mike: (Grins) Shouldn't be TOO hard. After all, we came up with all that stuff for the MonkeeMobile.
Micky: It'll be fun, too!
Emma: (As the others join Micky, Mike, and Ursula, Lauren and Daphne carrying the babies) So, what are you three up to?
Mike: Oh, just hearin' more about our ancestors from Urse.
Micky: Yeah.
Ursula: They asked me how I came to be in this crystal.
Peter: Isn't there any way we can get you out, so you can be with us all the time?
Ursula: (Blushes red) I'm afraid I no longer remember the powers your ancestors used to place me in here. I wasn't really thinking well at the time.
Valerie: It's a shame you can't share the holidays with us, Ursula.
Ursula: You forget, Valerie, I'm a crystal. Just seeing all of you alive and happy is Christmastide enough for me, and those two children are a rarer gift than the most precious diamond on Earth.
Mike: We should probably get goin'. Junior Pinter, the son of the head of the radio station, asked to see us later this afternoon. We've got to drop the kiddies off with their grandma and get to the studio.
Micky: *takes little Micky back from Daphne* Mom's dyin' to watch these two again. I'm still surprised that we can get them BACK from her.
Daphne: The Abbies are all in love with them. They're all talking about how cute they are and how they hope they have some of their own someday.
(Daphne looks at Davy, who blushes a little.)
Lauren: The twins oughtta get frequent flyer miles for all the different people who've watched them.
Davy: The darlin's of the neighbor'ood, they are!
Peter: Millie and Larry love them, and so do Mrs. Filcheck and Mrs. Horner and Mrs. Purdy.
Micky: Lauren's parents wouldn't give them back until we were ready to leave when we went to visit a few months ago.
Mike: (Grins) Come on, gang. (Nods at Ursula) Merry Christmas, Urse.
Davy: And thanks for everythin' you've done for us.
Peter: We'll probably see you in the next few weeks. We want you to know that you aren't alone, especially at this time of year!
Micky: Yeah! Hey, wait a second... *walks back over to Ursula & looks at the wall above her. A string of Christmas lights appear* There ya go, Urse!
(Peter closes his eyes. A small, green crystal Christmas tree appears next to her.)
Peter: (Hugs her) Merry Christmas, Ursula!
Ursula: (Sighs happily) Oh, my. Thank you! Thank you all! (Glows bright red) Happy Christmastide!
Emma: Have a great holiday, Ursula. We'll bring the kids back whenever we can.
