Everyone ready to finish this story?

Mike: Yeah. (Grins) Though it was kind of fun.

Peter: I'm ready. Val went to pick up Jordan.

Micky: Ready.

Davy: So am I, mates.

(We open at Micky and Lauren's house. The four boys and Lauren sit around the table in the kitchen. Emma brings out a plate of muffins.)

Emma: Ok, everyone. Here's some Carrot Muffins, in honor of all us great explorers.

Mike: They look great, darlin'. (Grabs two)

Bob: Hey, guys. How are you feeling after your huge adventure?

Mike: Tired, now that the rush has worn off, but really happy.

Micky: Fine.

Bert: How did Dr. Brandon turn up at the beach with the cops?

Mike: We're still gettin' the whole story, but as far as we know, those assistants of Brandon's that ran off ended up going to the cops. They found Brandon in another hide-out the Mortons had in the area. They went back to the restaurant, and Brandon showed them the stash there and the opening to the cave. He put two and two together and figured out we must have been tryin' to get through.

Peter: They were searching for us on the beach when the ship appeared. Dr. Brandon later said it was the most magical thing he ever saw.

Mike: (Shakes his head) I'm glad the Coast Guard showed up when they did. I don't know how much longer that tub would have lasted.

Emma: (As she passes around glasses of lemonade and iced coffee and tea) I don't know, honey. It stayed afloat for over a century.

Bert: What happened to the Mortons?

Mike: They're awaitin' prosecution for grand theft larceny, kidnapping, and murder. Seems they shot a few cops durin' that high-speed chase the girls saw.

Bob: Hey Micky, did you fix that hole in your bag?

Micky: Yes, I did.

Mike: Brandon's still havin' everythin' appraised, but yes, everythin' we found was real - the skeletons, the treasure, the ship, the tunnel, and even those baseball cards we swiped off poor Jeffries. They're going to give him a proper grave, by the way. (Makes a face) We can't go back for his body. Brandon said he looked in the cave while the Coast Guard and cops were dealing with us, and most of it was flooded. He doesn't think anyone will be doing any more treasure hunting down there.

Peter: They're going to display the treasure in the museum. They're still debating what to do about the ship. They may look into raising the money to restore it and display it as a floating pirate museum, complete with the opening and closing book case treasure room, in the Malibu Beach Harbor.

Mike: Brandon's payin' us all a pretty penny for findin' that loot. He even said Mick could keep the baseball cards and recommended some collectors he knew to him. How much did you say they were worth, Mick?

Micky: A VERY pretty penny.

Mike: Brandon did say he was a little disappointed that we lost the map, since he'd hoped to display it with the other pirate items...but I think the treasure more than made up for it. He didn't hurt Micky too badly.

Micky: I'm only slightly black and blue.

Bert: Hey Davy, where's Daph? Picking up Lizzie?

Davy: Yes, she is.

Bob: So, what's everyone going to do with their share of the money?

Mike: Mine's goin' right into the company.

Emma: Mine will go into the kids, new things for me, and a new typewriter.

Peter: Valerie and I are thinking of putting ours in a college fund for Jordan and Austin.

Lauren: Mick’s and mine are going into a savings account.

Bob: How about you and Daph, Davy? You saving, too?

Davy: We haven't completely decided yet.

Mike: It's nice to have somethin' work out for a change.

Peter: Yeah. We had a lot of close calls on this one!

Bert: Hey, what was your favorite part?

Peter: Finding the treasure...and how we found it behind the book case.

Mike: Talkin' to ol' Black Patch Harry in the treasure room. I think he understood.

Emma: Actually, riding the falls was fun.

Peter: Valerie told me in the car on the way here that she enjoyed wearing that tiara. She said she wishes she could keep it, but Brandon still has to have it appraised. She says she may try to buy it off of the museum.

Bert: Lauren, Mick, Davy, how about you?

Mike: Bet Mick enjoyed usin' all those gadgets.

Micky: Yeah.

Bert: So, what are you guys going to do now that you're famous treasure hunters?

Mike: Go lookin' for more jobs like this that can use our skills. Until we can get the legal mess with our music sorted out, we can't make videos with our music. We need money to make videos with other people's music.

Peter: I'm going to join them, at least until school starts again in September.

Mike: (Grins at Micky) If we can find gigs, I'm sure we can find jobs that can use the skills of good-lookin' professional jack-of-all-trades like us. (Thoughtful) Maybe, since we're all here and Val and Daph are the only ones really doin' anythin', it's time to start workin' on Guardian skills, too. I don't want a repeat of what happened in March. The Devils and Belavarg and Midge are still out there.

Peter: I agree. We haven't spent time at the practice island in ages.

Mike: (Looks at Micky) You and I need to do some serious work on the vehicles and on some new hand-held radars to keep better track of us.

Emma: We women need to work on our skills, too.

Mike: Actually, I'm pretty proud of everybody here. We all handled this well. In fact, I think this ended up bein' one of our better stories.

Peter: And no one really got hurt, either.

Emma: No hospital visits are a plus. They did want to take us to the hospital for dehydration, but we were all tired and begged it off.

Bob: So, what's for next month?

Emma: You guys will like this. It's our first out-and-out MonkeeLeague adventure since Christmas.

Mike: I can dig that.

Peter: A MonkeeLeague story?

Emma: Don't worry. It's going to be a light action-adventure like this story. We're not planning anything really ugly until the fall.

Mike: Thank god.

Emma: This is going to be a fairly busy summer and early fall for both of us, so don't look for any complicated stories until well into the fall months.

Mike: After this spring, I'm glad. It'll give us a chance to practice and tangle with other villains besides the damn Devils.

Peter: I'm just glad we're starting to work as a team again. We did very well with that here.

Mike: Yeah. We did, didn't we?

Emma: I'm just glad us girls went down there to warn you guys. You needed us.

Mike: No, we... (Peter glares at him) Ok, so, yeah, we did. We're all lucky we weren't crushed into dust like Jeffries.

Peter: We made it out...together.

Emma: And we discovered a piece of genuine California history and saved it from thieves. That's what matters in the end.

Mike: (Nods) Yeah, I guess so. (He turns to the camera) Some of us still have kids to pick up, so we're gonna let off here. You can find out more about real-life pirates, treasure hunts, and explorers online or at your local library.

Peter: (Waves to the camera) See you next month!

(Cut from everyone waving to the camera to the end credits. "Someday Man" plays over scenes from the "production." We end with the words "A Raybert Production" superimposed over the shot of all eight couples waving from the deck of Black Patch Harry's ship.)
