Ok, is everyone ready to finish this one? :)
Mike: Yeah.
Peter: Me too!
Micky: Sure!
Davy: Ready.
(We open with all four guys and all five kids in the backyard; Lizzie sits in a plastic playpen. The kids play with the dog from the story, who now wears a leather collar, flea collar, and tags. Mike and Davy drag a large tin container of water out to the backyard. Micky has the hose. Peter carries brushes, soap, and sponges.)
Peter: (Grins) This was a great idea to amuse the kids while Lauren's still in the hospital!
Mike: Amusement, nothing! Big Jake needs a bath. :p
Katie: (As Jake licks her) Silly doggie!
Jordan: (Laughing) Fun! Fun! :D
Micky: I'm ready to hose him down! *grins a little too happily*
Mike: More than likely, you're ready to hose us and the kids down.
Micky: Maybe.
Katie: Get wet!
(Big Jake shakes just for emphasis, even though he's not wet yet.)
Mike: That's what worries me. :p
Peter: Aw come on, Mike! We're all wearing bathing suits. If you're going to bathe a dog, you'll get wet.
Mike: I ain't had a dog since I lived with Aunt Kate, and the barn dogs were not exactly in a hurry to get washed.
Peter: Well, this will be a good lesson for everyone! The kids will learn, too. Right, kids?
Katie: Ok!
Jordan: Wash doggie!
*The twins cheer and nod.*
(Big Jake, however, does not seem to be quite as thrilled. He starts to move away from the group, wary.)
Mike: Man, for a dog named after a John Wayne movie, you sure are a chicken! Get over here!
Peter: Guys, don't scare him!
Mike: Get him!
("Gonna Buy Me A Dog" begins as the four Monkees chase Jake across the yard. The kids follow, not really to catch the dog, just to follow.)
*Micky jumps at the dog, but Jake darts off in another direction causing micky to belly flop, then slide across the lawn a few feet.*
(Katie does that, too, followed by the twins, leaving all three and Mick with mud-covered bellies.)
(Mike and Peter go after Jake from two different directions. He takes off and they run into each other, stumbling aside, rubbing noses, and grumbling. :p)
(Katie and Jordan chase Jake, but he easily evades the two.)
*Micky and Davy corner Jake and get a hold of him. Micky carries the dog over, and Davy fills the tub. Once full, Micky puts Jake in.*
(Jake immediately tries to spring back out. The guys all jump for him at once...and all four nearly end up in the tub with the dog. The kids almost fall over laughing, even little Lizzie.)
(Mike and Davy hold Jake down while Micky and Peter try to scrub him. Peter lets Jordan help wash his tummy.)
(Jake shakes his head, making the twins and their daddy wet.)
(Mike and Katie scrub around his ears, making sure they're careful. Mike explains to his daughter that dogs have sensitive ears that can't be poked too hard.)
*Davy and the twins help scrub Jake, while Micky holds ready with the hose.*
(Jake finally steps out...and tries to make a break for it again. The remaining three guys grab him this time.)
*Micky turns the hose on Jake, getting rid of all the soap bubbles.*
(As soon as Micky's done, Jake shakes as hard as he can, soaking everyone within a five-mile radius, including Lizzie, who just claps and laughs.)
(Everyone brushes Jake until his fur is smooth and shiny. Emma and Daphne come in as the music ends.)
Mike: Hey, darlin'. Just got finished with ol' Jake here.
Katie: Jake got a bath!
Emma: Did Jake get a bath or you guys?
Mike: He shook a little.
Emma: A little?
Peter: He wouldn't get in the tub!
Jordan: Silly! :D
Emma: Well, why don't you guys come inside and get dried off?
Katie: No! (Looks at the hose) Get wet!
Mike: Guys...
Micky: *swings the end two feet of the hose* Oh come on, Mike, live a little.
Emma: Well, all right, but don't be too long.
Mike: Yeah, we have rehearsin' to do.
Micky: *aims the hose at Mike* And guess who's first?
Mike: (Laughs) Miiiiicccckkkk! (Everyone scatters, including Jake, as Micky hits Mike with the hose. He chases Davy next, with the kids following, as the girls shake their heads, Lizzie laughs, and the camera fades out.)
*We switch to the kitchen, later that afternoon. A toolbox sits on the island. The guys enter, walking around the island.*
Mike: Mick, are you sure this is a good idea while Lauren's still in the hospital?
Micky: Yes. Matter of fact, it's better she isn't here. Building things doesn't bother her, but for some reasoning it drives her nuts when I try to show her I can take care of the plumbing, too.
Mike: Maybe because you CAN'T?
Peter: Aw Mike, I'm sure he'll be fine! He did our plumbing in the Pad, didn't he?
Mike: Only because we couldn't afford a real plumber. Mick, you could afford every plumber in LA now!
Micky: I know, but where's the fun in that? I like to do this stuff myself.
Mike: It might actually WORK afterwards.
Micky: Nice vote of confidence, Mike.
Peter: I'm sure you'll be fine, Mick! Didn't this come with instructions?
Davy: Even if it did, do you think Mick would 'ave them?
Micky: *sighs* No, there were no instructions.
Peter: Give him a chance! We're all here to help, after all! :)
Mike: (Grumbles) Ok...
(Mick ducks under the sink as "Ladies Aid Society" begins.)
(Mike peers under with him - and pulls back, wiping his eyes. The pipe just squirted him. Peter chuckles.)
(Peter peers under, holding a wrench. Hey Mick, do you need this?)
(Mike grabs a towel and wipes his face, grumbling Spanish curse words.)
*Micky takes the wrench. Metal clanging can be heard over the music.*
(Peter continues watching, pointing out this and that. Mike leans over, too.)
*Davy returns with rain gear and hands out jackets and hats to Mike and Peter.* ;)
(Mike slaps his on, rolling his eyes. Peter pulls his on, shaking his head.)
*Micky peaks out, looking for a metal coupling. He glares at the three guys in rain gear.*
(Mike hands him the coupling and joins him. He doesn't trust him.)
(Peter tries to join them, but he doesn't fit in the small space. He hands Micky a pipe instead.)
(There's a larger squirt of water from the sink as we hear bickering. Davy pulls back in disgust, pulling a slack-jawed Peter with him.)
*There's a loud clang. Micky and Mike clamber out from underneath.* :p
(The boys duck away as the water, formerly a stream, becomes a gush. Mike takes his jacket off and tries to stop it, but it only pours forth harder.)
(Micky and Mike go back under the sink with a wrench and some more pipes in a desperate hope of fixing the problem. It looks like they do, for a minute. As they shake hands, the water just gushes forth harder!)
(Mike pulls all four guys onto the breakfast island. Emma and Daphne walk into a kitchen filled with ankle-deep water, floating food, submerged tools, and bickering Monkees.)
Emma: (Groans) GUUYYSSSS! :p X(
Boys (In unison - everyone points to each other): He did it!
Daphne: In which case (hands a mop to the nearest guy to her - Micky), everyone will clean up AFTER it.
(Mike, Peter, and Davy exchange looks, then glare at Micky, who shrugs, takes the mop, and starts cleaning.)
(Cut to Micky and Lauren's living room. The boys sit on the floor. The girls sit on the couch and chairs. The kids are on the floor, playing with a now dry and brushed Big Jake. Onyx lays in Mick's lap, purring and napping.)
Bob: Hey, guys. Guess you're pretty happy to be your right size again. ;)
Mike: I've never appreciated bein' six feet so much in my life!
Peter: That was really weird!
Davy: I think it'll be a while before I complain about being short again.
Micky: And there will be no more short jokes from any of us, ever.
Mike: No shit.
Bert: What was the most interesting part of making this for you guys? This is one of your more complicated stories, set-and-special-effects wise.
Mike: The outdoor sets. Did you see those blades of grass? Amazing! (Looks at Micky) Oh, and Mick, you need to mow your lawn. It nearly killed us.
Micky: Consider it done, Mike.
Peter: Riding the dog was fun!
Davy: Watching Jake run around with Micky hanging from his mouth.
Micky: Funny, Dave. :P
Mike: (Laughs) All pickin' on Mick aside, they did do a good job with the effects and blue-screen work there.
Micky: I'm not sure about the most interesting part. The whole thing was just weird.
Bert: Hey, what was with all the picking on Mick in this?
Micky: Good question. I'd like to know that, too.
Emma: We hadn't picked on him in a while.
Davy: He was due for some. ;)
Peter: Actually, we all came off as sort of goofy here.
Emma: More than usual.
Mike: Yeah, I spent most of this story screamin' at anyone in firin’ range.
Emma: Don't worry, fellas, you'll all get to be far more heroic next month.
Mike: What are we doin' next month, or should I ask?
Emma: We're returning to mystery-adventures, and oh yes, Honeywell is back.
Mike: (Groans) Not more of that drip! I thought we shook him.
Emma: Oh, no. We haven't done a spy story since last February, so I thought we were due.
Peter: Do we ALL get to be heroes? :D
Emma: Of course. :)
Mike: Ain't we still filmin' that damn movie? How long is that going to take?
Micky: Mike... *shakes head*
Emma: Probably into the summer arc, possibly the fall.
Mike: How long does it take to make a damn movie?
Emma: In real life, the movie ended up being delayed and released months after it was originally planned.
Peter: See, Michael? The delays aren't so bad.
(Mike just grumbles.)
Bob: How's Jake?
Mike: He loves the kids, and the kids love him.
Katie: Jake’s fun! :D
(Jordan tosses Jake a squeaky ball, which Jake attacks happily.)
Davy: Mick still doesn't care for him too much.
*Micky just grumbles.*
(Jake trots up to Micky and drops his ball on the floor next to him. He wants him to toss it!)
Micky: Now you wanna be friends, huh?
*Micky rolls the ball across the floor, and Jake goes after it.*
(The kids go after Jake, chasing him around the living room. Emma laughs.)
Emma: The kids think Jake is wonderful, and I think he thinks they're his sisters and brothers. ;)
Mike: He chews a few too many things he shouldn't, but he's young and we'll work on gettin' him outta that.
Bert: Where did the idea for this one come from?
Emma: A series of brainstorming chats we had last summer and early fall. From August to early October, we had more time on our hands than usual, and that's when we began to develop this arc and the first stories for the next one. (Looks at the camera) And you'll all be happy to know that, as of this writing, we have ideas for stories going into the next arc, this coming summer.
Mike: What's all this about a mystery for next month, anyway?
Emma: Next month will see the return of Honeywell, the CIS...and another infamous villain from the early days of the original show.
Mike: Oh, shit. That doesn't sound good. :p
Peter: I didn't like handling them then! :(
Bob: Hey, how did everything go at the hospital, Mick? Is Lauren and her child alright?
Lauren: *appears with a blanket-wrapped bundle in her arms* Everything went perfectly fine at the hospital. We're both great. :)
Micky: Babe, you certainly have timing.
Lauren: Thank you, Mick. *sits next to him as he makes faces and odd noises, trying to make the baby smile*
(The kids and dog all run over to the new arrival.)
Katie: The new baby's here!
Jordan: Ooh! Little!
Lauren: Meet Leah. :)
Micky: *to everyone* Okay, folks, don't make me do crowd control.
Katie: Sooo cute! :D
(Jake barks his approval.)
Mike: Break it up, guys. Kid's not even a few days old, and you're breathin' on her.
(Onyx briefly looks up from Micky's lap, mews his approval, and returns to his nap.)
Peter: She's so little and sweet...
Micky: I can tell she's gonna be petite already.
Lauren: Well, I was just glad to actually make it to the hospital this time.
Mike: And we were happy to help.
Peter: The twins were no problem at all! They were amazingly good for Valerie and me the whole time we had them.
*The twins smile like little angels.*
Micky: *snickers at the grins* Very funny, you two.
Mike: The only reason they were that good is they were excited over bein' big siblings, and they know better than to get Unca Peter upset.
Emma: And as we admire the new arrival, we’re going to break it up and head to the final video so she, the kids, and Jake can rest.
Peter: That's right. Happy Valentine's Day, from everyone here at Dream World! :)
Mike: Spend it with someone you love.
Emma: And if you don't have a significant other, grab some friends or family...and treat yourself to a half-off box of chocolate the size of Australia the day after. ;)
("We Were Made For Each Other" begins as we get scenes of each Monkee couple courting in their own way. Mike and Emma walk along the beach, sometimes just talking, sometimes holding hands. He reaches up to kiss her at one point, and she blushes. He kisses her more as the tide comes in around their bare toes, nibbling up her neck. She kisses him back, sighing.)
(Peter and Valerie dance in the moonlight in the garden behind the Montgomery House. Valerie lays her head on Peter's shoulder, and he kisses the top of her auburn hair.)
*Micky and Lauren sit together on the wide railing of their back porch, looking out over the water. Micky has his arms wrapped around Lauren, who leans against his chest contentedly.*
*Davy and Daphne lie on the beach on a blanket, making out.*
(As the tide comes in and the sun goes down, the rosy tint the screen takes on fades to a red background with a "Happy Valentine's Day!" and pink heart and roses graphic.)
(Cut to the ending credits as "Just Like All Of Your Toys" plays of "stills" from the production. We end with a new still of the entire crew, including baby Leah, Onyx and Jake, and the older kids, as the red and pink "A Raybert Production" lettering appears with more pink hearts.)
