(We open in front of a gigantic ocean liner, about a week before Christmas and two weeks after the snow day. The Monkees, their families, Nyles, Jack, and the Abbies stand around the gangplank, waiting to leave. Valerie directs the boarding of their luggage and makes sure all tickets are in order.)
Peter: This was the best Christmas present ever! Two weeks in the Bahamas with our families and friends! I got so much Christmas shopping done, I snorkled for the first time, and I learned about Christmas in tropical climates!
Emma: (Sighs) This has been fun, but I can't wait to get home. It just doesn't feel like Christmas when it's 80 degrees out and there's palm trees everywhere instead of pine trees.
Katie: Go home! :D
Mike: I don't think it's so bad. (Frowns) Hey, where's Micky?
Emma: I don't know. He bought an awful lot of souveniers on this trip. Maybe he had a hard time with his baggage.
Mike: (Turns to Lauren) Where IS your husband? Not to mention your children?
Mike: (Stops when we hear a splash) Hey, what's that?
Lauren: *rolls her eyes upwards* Please tell me that wasn't Micky. :P
Chrissy: (Comes running over with the twins close behind) Help! Help! Man overboard! Micky fell in! :o
Mike: (Rolls his eyes) Figures.
Lauren: I told you not to tell me that! :P
Jack: *motions between him and Nyles* We'll get him! *They run to the dock and pull the drummer out of the water*
Chrissy: (As everyone else joins the now-sopping Micky at his massive piles of baggage) Micky, are you ok?
Micky: Well, my ego's had better days.
Lauren: What the heck happened, Mick?
Mike: I told you not to buy so much. How are you gonna fit this stuff in your stateroom?
Micky: It'll fit.
Lauren: *warningly* Micky...
Micky: I'll tell ya later.
Mike: (As we hear a horn blasting) Ok guys, I think it's time for us to board.
Katie: Go home?
Emma: Yes, dear. The big boat is going to take us home.
Micky: About time.
Katie: Boat? Yay! :D
Mike: Boat? Boo. :p
(Emma nudges Mike.)
Emma: Just take the seasickness pils, dear, the ones we got from the pharmacy back at home, and you'll be fine.
Shelly: Yay! Another boat ride!
*Mick cheers.* :D
Peter: Come on, guys! (He isn't watching where he's going, and runs into an elderly couple. The man is plump and smiling in a light summer suit, with a thick white beard and silvery-white hair; the woman is also plump and smiling in her red and green floral dress and outdated flower-trimmed sun hat, her white hair pulled back in a tight bun.)
Peter: Oh, I'm so sorry! (Helps the man pick up his bag, which he dropped) Here you go! (Peter helps the man collect what looks like candy canes and Christmas cookies) Did you go shopping in town?
Man: Oh, no, my wife makes those. It's part of our job.
Woman: Don't worry, Peter. There was no harm done.
Peter: How do you know my name?
Man: Oh, we've been around.
Woman: We know a lot of things about many people that would surprise you.
Man: And I think your friends are waiting for you. (Points to the gangplank leading to the ship, where Valerie waves to Peter as the group embarks) We'll see you onboard. We're taking this boat home ourselves.
Woman: (Sighs and takes the man's arm) Our first vacation in many, many years.
Peter: Would you like to have dinner with us, Mr...
Man: Bass, Peter. Kris Bass. (Nods at the woman) And this is my wife Jessica.
Jessica: Very pleased to meet you! :)
Peter: Guys! (He runs over to Lauren, the twins, and Micky as they gather Micky's massive collection of bags) Meet my new friends! This is Mr. and Mrs. Bass. They're going on the trip with us.
Lauren: That's wonderful!
Kris: You're looking very well, Lauren, considering the little one you're carrying.
Jessica: (Leans over) And they look very well, too. Energetic as ever.
Lauren: *turns a shade redder* Thank you. :)
*The twins grin.*
*Micky grins, also looking for a compliment.*
Kris: That was rather silly of you to fall in the bay, George. You really should be more careful.
Jessica: Oh, I think he looks handsome like that!
Micky: *looks like he's going to say something, then closes his mouth; then* Uh, it was an accident. *gives a half smile to Jessica* Thanks, I think.
Kris: Oh, you're normally a good boy, anyway, except for a few minor misdemeors. Boys will be boys!
Jessica: (Leans over the twins) And I know you two have been mostly good, too.
*The twins nod eagerly, still grinning.* :D
(The horn on the boat blows again.)
Kris: Maybe we'd better get going. We don't want to be left here!
Peter: (Nods) Yeah. (Turns to Micky) Do you think Mike would mind if Mr. and Mrs. Bass had dinner with us?
Micky: *sighs* He probably would mind, Pete, but since when have we let Mike's mood get in our way? Invite them!
Kris: He already did. (Smiles) I think we can get around Robert, Peter. He's a good boy, too, just stubborn. He's had some hard times, that one.
Peter: Mike's not so bad once you get to know him, most of the time. He's just really worried about this movie.
Jessica: We're...well, we've followed you boys for a long time, ever since you were as small as these two. (Puts her hands gently on the twins' shoulders) We keep track of many children. It's part of our jobs.
Kris: We run a toy factory.
Peter: Groovy! :D
Kris: (Frowns as the horn makes one last blast) Maybe we'd better get going. That's the final boarding call.
*Micky just blinks. Lauren has a curious look.*
Peter: Ok. We'll see you tonight, Mr. Bass!
Kris: We're looking forward to it. (They go on ahead. Peter gathers some of Micky's baggage in his arms)
Peter: What a nice couple! They seem so familiar...
Mick: That was Santa! :D
Shelly: And Mrs. Santa! :)
Lauren: No, they live at the North Pole. *another curious look*
Micky: Yeah, that couldn't have been them. *seems a bit unsure*
Peter: Maybe...
Mike: (Calling from the gangplank) Will you guys come on already? Everyone else is on board!
Micky: We'd better get on, or else we'll be left behind. Come on, everyone!
Peter: Right! (And they head off to the huge boat. Mr and Mrs. Bass gather their red leather suitcases and a very large red sack. Two other people, a man and a woman in fancy outfits, gather expensive leather suitcase and a similar sack. Two men in non-descript suits gather two simple soft-sided suitcases and a third sack. All board the ship after the Monkees. There's one last toot from the ship, and a long shot of it pulling out of the dock as we fade out.)
