Ok, everyone ready to head off into the desert sunset?
Mike: Yes, thank god. :p
Peter: Help! :o
Micky: You bet!
Davy: Lets get out of 'ere :P
(We open once again in the desert. The vans are back on the road again. Cut to the interior of the Monkees' van. Micky now drives. Lauren and the twins are with him.)
Mike: (Over Lauren's communicator) Seen any sign of them yet?
Lauren: Nothing yet.
Mike: We haven't, either. I doubt they've gotten far. It's only been a few hours, and if they didn't find the same diner we did, they're probably hot and sweating and close to heat stroke by now.
Micky: Wait, I'm getting a call on my watch communicator. *flips the watch open*
Peter: (Voice-over on the communicator) Heeelp!
Micky: Where are you guys?
Peter: On a train, heading towards I think Flagstaff...
(That's when Peter's cut off. We only hear static.)
Micky: Peter? (To the group) Lost him. Hey, Mike, did you hear that?
Mike: Yeah. He didn't say which train.
(They pass a train at this point...and it looks like the one Peter and Davy jumped on earlier. The cowboys run past it, then turn around in annoyance and return to their ranch.)
Micky: I'm gonna guess it might be that train!
Mike: I sure hope so. We don't have the whole story to be chasin' it. Let's take the vans down there, blue-light in, and check it out.
Micky: Right.
(The cameras follow the vans as they drive over to the train, which is almost out of sight as the van stops and Mike, Micky, Lauren, and Valerie climb out.)
Mike: We're gonna have to imagine ourselves on. There ain't no other way we're gonna get on a movin' train without a horse or somethin'.
Emma: (Pops out of the van) I'll stay with the kids. You guys rescue the other boys. We need to get the kids home soon. We're almost out of apple juice.
Mike: You bet, darlin'. We'll be back in a minute. (Turns to the others) Ok, gang, we gotta rescue the guys. Concentrate and think "Peter and Dave in the train."
Micky: Right.
Lauren: Okay.
(The group concentrates. There's various shades of blue light, and they disappear.)
(Cut to Peter and Davy on the train. One of the men takes the communicator from Peter.)
Man 2: What's that, sonny?
Peter: It's a radio!
Man 2: Don't seem to be playin' any music...
Peter: You turned it off!
Man 3: Well, what are we gonna do about these two?
Man 1: Maybe we could keep them up front 'til we stop at San Diego. Then we'll turn them over to the cops for train jumpin'.
Peter: Wait a minute!
(There's a series of blue lights in various shades. When they subside, Mike, Micky, Lauren, and Valerie appear.)
Peter: Val! (He embraces her)
Mike: Well, gentlemen, what seems to be the problem here?
Man 1: The problem is you guys are trespassing! This isn't a passenger train!
Mike: Well, we'll just leave the train...
Man 1: Oh no, you don't! You're all gonna have to see the cops.
Peter: But all we did was trespass!
Mike: No, we're not. We're gonna leave. (He climbs on a crate before someone can stop him and opens the top of the car) See ya! (He climbs out as fast as he can, followed by the others, as "Steam Engine" begins. We get a shot of all seven jumping across train cars, with the three security guards close behind. Mike finally stops one of the guards and points to the left to distract him. He knocks him on the train and runs off.)
*Micky’s suddenly seen with a cap gun in each hand, shooting into the air and yelling for all he's worth. Lauren leans out a window and rolls her eyes, then ducks back inside.* :P
(Peter plays music for one guard. The guard pulls out a harmonica and joins in!)
(Another guard trades nail-filing tips with Davy.)
(Two of the guards look for Peter. They can't find him, because he was knocked off of the train by a water machine and is clinging to the side! Valerie helps him back up after the guards go away.)
(Mike and a guard are on top of each other, and they roll off the side. Peter sees this and almost bursts into tears, but he finally looks over the side. Both cling to the edge. Peter and Valerie help them back on the train.)
(Peter and Valerie duck as a coyote chases a road runner across a train, knocking a guard over. Valerie and Peter help him back up again.)
(Davy grabs another waterer and swings around, knocking all three guards over...but he remains on the lever when he's done, as the train's almost done passing and he's afraid to let go!)
(Mike and Micky finally grab another waterer and pull it back. It knocks all three guards back into the train again as the song ends.)
Mike: (Grins) That takes care of that! ;)
Peter: Where's Davy?
Valerie: (Points behind them) I think we're losing him!
Davy: Um, mates, a little 'elp would be nice right now!
Mike: And I know how we can do it! To the vans, Guardians!
*Once everyone is in the vans, we see Davy slip from where he's hanging. Everything goes into slow motion. We see an exchange of shots of Davy falling and the van moving closer to Davy. It looks like the van may not reach Davy in time, but does at the very last moment. The camera returns to normal speed.*
Mike: (Over Micky's communicator) Nice work, Mick. You ok, Dave?
Davy: Yeah, except for being scared 'alf to death 'e wouldn't get to me in time!
Micky: You actually thought I wouldn't make it in time? Shame on you, Dave.
Mike: (Chuckles) Why don't we stop at the next available gas station or somethin' to get the kids a drink and let them run around, then head home?
(We get another shot of the group on the highway, which fades into a shot of the vans in front of a convince store. The group walks out of the store, carrying drinks for everyone, including the kids.)
Emma: Are you guys sure you're all right?
Mike: Mick was dealin' with some heat stroke back there. I'm just really sunburnt.
Micky: Yeah. I'm still feeling some of that from earlier, but other than that and some nice sunburn, I'm fine.
Lauren: Or at least as fine as you usually are.
Peter: (Shakes his head) I'm not feeling very well myself.
Valerie: I think Peter may have some heat stroke.
Peter: What about you, Dave? You were out as long as I was.
Davy: I was okay while on the adrenaline rush, but now... I'm not feeling too great, either. :P
Emma: I think we ought to get you guys home. You'll be needing copious rest, if not outright doctor visits. (Pats her stomach) I need to go back to the doctor, anyway. (Grins at Mike) I need to find out if we're having a boy or a girl.
Mike: (Eyes widen) You mean...darlin'...
Katie: Huh?
Mike: (Picks up Katie) Cowgirl, you're gonna be a big sister.
Katie: Weely? Like the twins?
Emma: Well, like Shelly.
Jordan: Ba'by! :)
Katie: Yay! I'm a big sister! :D
Valerie: We should do something to celebrate.
Peter: And I know what we can do. (Smiles) When was the last time the adults went on vacation outside of the cruise last Christmas?
Mike: Too long. We ain't had the time. We've been...
Valerie: ...Working on the movie. You're almost done. I think that's a wonderful idea.
Emma: Let's do it as soon as filming is finished. The kids can stay with Matilda or their grandparents. :)
Micky: Vacation... =P~
Lauren: I know what that sound means. I suppose you have a suggestion for the vacation, Mick.
Micky: Yeah. How about Vegas?
Lauren: I don't know...
Mike: I don't know if that's a good place to take a pregnant woman.
Emma: Could be fun. ;)
Peter: It would be a good chance to see other musical acts besides ours!
Micky: See! Em and Pete think it's a good idea!
Davy: *nods* I like it, too.
Mike: Well, we haven't been there since Davy, Mick, and I went on that one short trip a few years ago...
Micky: We'll just check out the sites and the acts. No gambling. We'll behave ourselves.
Valerie: You'd better. I know we all own our own homes and don't have to worry about losing rent money, but we don't need to lose our shirts, either.
Emma: (Eyeing the guys) Why not?
Mike: (Eyeing Emma's chest) Yeah. ;)
Lauren: Please don't encourage them. They don't need it.
Micky: She's right! *briefly smothers Lauren, who starts laughing after he backs off*
Valerie: (Laughs) Come on. Let's get out of here. We don't need the kids to get heat stroke.
Mike: And I've never needed a shower so badly in my entire life.
Emma: Let's hit the road.
Katie: Yeah! :D
(Everyone climbs back into the vans, which pulls out, leaving us with a long shot of the vans riding along in the beautiful desert scenery as the train puffs by and the scene fades out.)
