Ok, let's finish off our fun in a plane. Everyone ready?
Mike: (Head's still nodding) Uh huh... (goes back to snoring lightly - far more so than Mick ;) )
Peter: I'm ready! Where's the kids? :-/
*Micky is already snoozing, thanks to Lauren.* ;)
Davy: *grins at Micky* I thought it got a lot quietah since the kids head for the Pilot's cabin. ;)
(We kick off with a romp, "Good Clean Fun," as Katie and the twins sprint out of the kitchen. Katie goes over to the rowdy kids they said "hi" to before, whose mother is now talking to the good-looking guy sitting behind her. She shows them her badge and airplane. They "ooh" and "ahh" and ask to play with the plane.)
*The twins duck into and around seats, playing tag and just running around in general.* ;)
(Katie points to the stewardesses, who are now handing out peanuts. The kids all nod, grin, and join her. They grab handfuls of peanut packets and sneak off under the seats. ;) )
(Katie finds the twins watching a movie, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," in coach. Katie hands them some peanuts and points at the stewardesses. The kids all wave. :) )
*Micky makes elephant noises, then eats his peanuts.*
(Katie climbs into a seat. She picks up some earphones, sits back, and listens to music with a satisfied smile on her lips that looks a bit like her father's crooked grin. ;) :) )
(Katie brings out one of the airsickness bags. She puts the peanuts into the bag and gives them to the oldest of the group of children, who grins. She mouths "That for you mommy." :) )
(Katie takes a bunch of magazines and hands them to the twins, then pretends to read them. She even puts a rope of fake beads around her neck that make her look like a miniature version of the white-haired, prim old woman sitting behind her. ;) )
*Micky makes paper airplanes out of his magazine.* ;)
*Shelly laughs at her brother's antics.* :))
(Katie joins Micky in making paper airplanes. She throws them, laughing. ;) )
Julie: Hey! (As the music ends, Julie finds the three kids sitting in chairs in the front) What are you three doing here? Shouldn't you be with your mommies and daddies? I'll bet they're worried about you!
Micky: We got bored. :P ;)
Julie: Well, whether you did or not, you should go find your parents. Are they at their seats?
Katie: No-no! There! (Points to the cockpit)
Julie: Ohhh, you're the kids who went to the cockpit! I saw you earlier with you parents. You really should go back there now.
Shelly: *smiles* Okay! :)
Stewardess: (A blond woman pokes her head out, her eyes wide) Hey, Julie, come in here! We have a problem! We're short on steak dinners! Someone opened a couple of them and knocked over a few others! :p
Julie: What? How did that happen? (She nods at the kids) Hold on, guys, ok? I'll be right back.
(She heads into the kitchen. Katie takes off the beads and turns to the twins.)
Katie: "Guys, maybe it's time we headed back. I'll bet my mommy and daddy WILL miss us."
Shelly: "Yeah. We don't want them mad at us!"
Katie: "And when Mama and Papa get mad, they get MAD."
(As Katie and the twins go past, they hear Julie's annoyed exclamations in the kitchen.)
Julie: What are we going to do for dinner now? We can't serve these to people!
Blond Stewardess: There aren't THAT many people on the plane. Maybe we won't need so many...
Katie: (Looks at the twins and frowns) "Uh-oh. I guess we should have been more careful. :p"
Micky: "Oh, boy..." :P
Katie: "Come on." (Tries to tug the door open) "Uh-oh, it's stuck! :o"
Katie: "Do you think we could...THINK...it open? With that blue light thingie?"
Micky: *nods* "Yeah! Lets try it!"
Katie: "If you make it small, no one will notice!" (Frowns) "Do you think I could, too? I've never done it before!"
Shelly: "Try it, Katie! Besides, if we’re making it small, we might need all three of us!"
Katie: "Ok!" (All three kids close their eyes. There's a tiny blue light, and the door opens a crack...just wide enough for three little bodies to wiggle in. ;) )
Katie: (Grins; jumps up and down) "We did it! :D"
Micky: "Yay! Alright!" :D
Katie: "Let's go, Little Guardians! :D" (She and the three kids make it in the door just as Captain Graves finishes talking.)
Captain Graves: ...And that's how the navigational computers work. (Turns to the kids; Emma yawns a little and nudges Mike awake) Did you enjoy learning about airplanes, kids?
Katie: (Grins) Yeah! Planes fun! :D
Mike: Uh..huh.
Micky: *nods* Loved it! :D
Shelly: Really liked it! :)
Captain Graves: I'm glad to see you're so interested in planes.
Captain Baker: Maybe you kids will be pilots yourselves someday. ;)
Katie: Like Papa! :D
Mike: Yeah, I fly. Nuthin' this big, though.
Captain Baker: Hey, man, maybe we'll see you in the air someday.
Mike: Yeah, maybe. ;)
Emma: (Puts a hand on the twins' shoulders) Maybe we'd better be taking these munchkins back to their folks, before they think we've done something with them. ;)
Mike: I'm sure their dad will be thrilled to see them.
(Emma nudges Mike.)
Emma: Their father doesn't handle planes well. He's not used to traveling.
Micky: Daddy doesn't like to fly. :P
Captain Graves: Sorry to hear that. Has he taken any Dramamine or Tums? Maybe that would help settle his stomach.
Mike: (Mutters) Ain't nuthin' gonna help Micky's stomach settle but bein' on the ground. :p
(Emma nudges him harder this time.)
*The twins chuckle, though.* ;)
Emma: Well, thank you again.
Captain Graves: Anytime. :)
Captain Baker: Maybe we'll see you on another flight someday!
Emma: (Smiles) Maybe. (Turns to the twins) Ok, kids, take my hands again. We're going to go back to your mom and dad. :)
Mike: (To Katie) Take my hand, cowgirl. You don't need to go runnin' off.
Katie: 'Kay! (Takes his hand)
The twins: Okay, Auntie Emma! *both laugh* ;)
(The group walks back to their seats. Peter, Lauren, and Valerie chat in Mike and Emma's seats.)
Peter: Hi, guys! How was the cockpit? :)
Katie: We pi'lits! (Shows him her badge and airplane)
Peter: Wow, that's really neat! :)
Mike: It was kinda dull, but the kiddies seemed to like it. Didn't make a peep.
Emma: (Looks at the twins and Katie suspiciously) They WERE awfully quiet...
Micky: We listened good! :D ;)
Katie: Shelly n' Mick pi'lits! (Indicates the badges her friends have) :D
Peter: Wow! They made you all junior pilots, huh?
Valerie: That's wonderful! Maybe you'll be real pilots someday! :)
Katie: Yay! :D
Mike: Hey, where's Mick?
Lauren: He's sleeping it off. I gave him a helping hand. ;)
Mike: How big is the lump? ;)
Peter: She just used her powers. :p
Valerie: Our group are the only people in first class, and they're all either occupied or passed out. ;) :p
(Julie comes down the aisle with her cart again, this time with trays of food. She looks a little frazzled.)
Julie: Hello, everyone. We're having fish or chicken for dinner. I know steak was announced earlier, but we...we ran out. :p :">
Mike: How did you manage to run out on a half-full airplane?
Julie: Someone must have accidentally broke the seal on some of the steak trays. They'd defrosted when we found them to the point where you wouldn't want to eat them. :p
(Everyone gets back into their seats as Julie hands around the trays. She indicates Micky.)
Julie: Will he be wanting his chicken dinner?
Lauren: Not unless you can put it in a doggie bag so he can have it once he's on solid ground and has found his stomach again. ;)
Julie: I'll bring him an extra bag of peanuts he can keep before we arrive. ;)
Mike: He don't take travelin' well. ;)
Lauren: But he will eventually enjoy the peanuts. ;)
Katie: (She settles down with her kids' meal) Yummy!
Mike: Don't get excited, Katie. Just airplane food. :p
Emma: (Eats it) They must give us the good meals. It's not bad. :)
Mike: (Digs into his chicken) Hey, not bad!
Micky: This is good! :D
Shelly: Yeah! :)
Lauren: Amazing. ;)
Katie: (As she eats) "Micky, you'd eat ANYTHING, whether it was good or not! ;) :p"
Micky: "Probably!" ;) :D
Katie: "You know, I like flying in planes. All of the stewardesses are nice, you get to watch movies an' listen to music and meet nice people an' eat lotsa food an' the captains even show you all the flying stuff! :D"
Shelly: "Yeah, this was lotsa fun! I hope we do this again soon." :)
Katie: "Mama says we won't be traveling for a while...and the next time we travel, we'll probably take a bus, since we won't be going over the ocean. I'd rather be in a plane than a bus. Busses aren't as much fun. You can't run around or watch movies or see how the captain flies.(Looks out over the ocean) I can't wait to get home. Traveling is fun, but I miss our house and the ocean and all our friends. :)"
Shelly: "Me, too. I wanna sleep in my own bed again."
Micky: "I can't wait to run around my backyard again!"
Katie: "I can't wait to play the little guitar Papa gave me for Christmas again! :)"
Emma: (Leans over and gives Katie a kiss) Isn't it exciting, Katie? Soon, we'll be home! :)
Katie: Yeah, Mama! (She leans over her mama's shoulder; her papa takes her hand and smiles) Yeah. Wanna go home. :)
(And we cut to a stock shot of the airplane as it turns towards Los Angeles as we fade out.)
