Mike: Everyone ready to begin? Em can't ask. She's...not here.
Micky: Ready.
Davy: Me, too.
Peter: And me. (Sighs) Poor Michael...
(We open on the Pacific Ocean again, this time on a large yacht. Sheila lays on a chaise lounge in a very small bikini, soaking up rays.)
Captain Harris: (He sits next to her) Miss Saunders, under the circumstances, I'm thinkin' we should terminate our relationship. Some of them were still able to think.
Sheila: But the others weren't, including one group leader. (Looks up at Alex and Zelda) Hello, dears. Come to take in this lovely afternoon?
Alex: Of course!
Zelda: *Sits on another chaise lounge* It is quite lovely, isn't it?
Sheila: Yes, it is. (She sits up, dropping the novel she was reading on a table next to her) Now, I called you all here to discuss our next move.
Captain Harris: All our pickin's so far have been small potatoes!
Sheila: They won't be for very long.
Captain Harris: My boys are gettin' restless. They want bigger stakes, something we can all retire on.
Sheila: We're going to go after some of the biggest stakes in the modern world. There's a boat coming from Japan filled with some of the most advanced technology in the world. Lasers, new smaller computers, even some computerized weaponry. You could get big money for those items in the black market.
Alex: Not to mention create some new inventions...
Sheila: I knew that would get you, Alex. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Captain Harris: What about those Japanese officials? I've heard they're mighty clever. They may try to throw a wrench in our plans, and they'll probably be heavily guarded.
Sheila: (Smirks) Leave that to us. We know something about handling clever people, right, you two?
Alex: *Nods* We sure do.
Sheila: Captain, you and your boys just concentrate on getting that boat for us.
Captain Harris: Fine. (Turns back to him and glares) But if this don't work, the deal's off, lady. You can take your money and shove it in those too-tight panties of yours.
Sheila: Fine, Captain. (The Captain storms off. Sheila turns to Alex and Zelda) I told you I'd be able to calm him down.
Alex: Good job.
Sheila: Just dangle some good loot in a pirate's face, and he'll follow you anywhere. (Smirks) And of course, we'll turn them into the police as soon as we don't need them anymore. It wouldn't hurt us to get back in good standing with our fine local cops. I can't keep giving them such exhorborant bribes to keep us out of prison.
Alex: No kidding.
Sheila: The others will try to stop us, of course. This will be a wonderful chance to get the rest of the Guardians' souls.
Sheila: (Smirks) We're getting closer. We did get the Scholar. Did you stash the souls in the ship, as I instructed?
Alex: Of course we did.
Sheila: We'll take them down below as soon as we get all of the Guardians' souls.
Alex: Right.
(As they talk, the camera moves upwards...to an unseen blue car with wings the color of the blue sky. Valerie and Daphne lean as far as they dare over the edge, listening to the devils with what looks like high tech spy gear.)
Valerie: Damn them!
Daphne: This is not good.
Valerie: I can imagine what Alex has in mind for that equipment...and it's all disgusting.
Daphne: *Nods* Only his imagination knows.
Valerie: We have to warn the others about this...and figure out how to surprise the devils without losing our souls in the bargain.
Daphne: Yeah. The question is...how?
Valerie: Maybe we could sneak on that ship somehow, pass ourselves off as officials...
Daphne: That could work.
Valerie: I'd ask for a few favors, but it's too late to actually board the ship ourselves.
Daphne: We'll have to rely on subterfuge, then.
Valerie: Exactly. We might be able to evade them. I wonder if Micky has any of that invisible spray left? Or I could call the costume shop and we could dress as officials...
Daphne: Hmm...
Valerie: (Makes a face as we hear giggling in the background) I think they're going in the cabin now. I think we can turn the equipment off.
Daphne: Gladly. *flicks a switch*
Valerie: We have to get back to the others with this. I think Micky, Peter, and Davy are in the cave with the kids. Lauren took the kids to Micky's mother's house for an early Labor Day Weekend.
Daphne: *Nods* And quickly.
Valerie: Ready to go, Rosemarie?
(Valerie shifts the gears on the car. She seems to "yawn.")
Valerie: Someone was napping!
(Valerie turns the car around in the air, passing several surprised animated geese on the way. ;) )
(Fade out on the blue car in the blue sky. Fade in on the entrance of the Beach Cave. Micky and Davy are working on Ursula again. Peter's strumming his guitar. Mike just sits with Emma, trying to make her comfortable...but her eyes are still blank, and her face still has that unreadable "nothing" expression. )
Mike: Do you want anythin' darlin'?
Emma: (Flat) No.
Peter: Any change in her, Mike?
Mike: None at all. She's not even cooking right. She made the kids pancakes this mornin', and Katie said they didn't taste right. Didn't taste like Mama's usual stuff. (Frowns) Didn't have the heart Em always puts in her cookin'.
Peter: She doesn't have any passion anymore.
Mike: This is worse than when they kidnapped her. It's like she's here...but she isn't. The kids don't get it, especially Katie. She knows there's somethin' bad wrong with Mama. Mama won't cuddle her. She won't laugh at her when she does somethin' silly. She won't scold her or get mad when she does somethin' bad. She'll just sit there and stare.
Peter: (Frowns) God Michael, this is breaking your heart. You love her so much.
Mike: Darlin', you have to get well! I can't stand seein' you like this!
Emma: I am well, Michael.
Mike: You ain't even callin' me Baby anymore!
Peter: (He makes the guitar disappear in a blue light) There has to be SOMETHING we can do!
Ursula: I've tried...oohh, that felt good, Micky...Mike. I can't replace lost souls.
Mike: Do SOMETHIN'! You have to! She can't stay like this forever! She ain't arguin' with me, she ain't laughin', she ain't singin', she's...she's not my darlin'.
Ursula: (As the girls drive in the cave in Rosemarie) How did things go? Did your new flight pause mechanism work well...not to mention all that equipment you borrowed from Micky?
Rosemarie: The flight pause worked great.
Daphne: So did the equipment.
Valerie: Yeah. We heard every single thing the Devils said. I'm glad you were able to get that spy gear back together, Micky. Came in very handy.
Ursula: Good work, ladies, Rosemarie...and Micky.
Micky: Thanks.
Mike: What are those bastards up to now?
Valerie: They're going to target a cargo ship full of new computer and laser equipment coming from Japan tomorrow. The pirates will get some very sensitive equipment, including military weapons, that will sell for big bucks on the black market...and Sheila will be able to gather some of the most clever and important souls in Japan and the US.
Daphne: Alex plans on keeping some of it.
Peter: That's not surprising.
Mike: We have to find out how to reverse this. I can't leave Emma like this.
Emma: (Flat, emotionless) There's nothing wrong with me.
Valerie: Daphne, have you heard from the other Abbies? How's Jen and Kim?
Daphne: Exactly the same as poor Em.
Peter: The three Martians who were hit are, too. Chris is freaking out, and Tilly's about ready to tear out her hair.
Mike: (Turns to Micky) You fixed Urse's floating ability?
Micky: Of course.
Mike: Good. We need her to be able to handle the open ocean without gettin' waterlogged. We're gonna need a smaller boat to handle those guys now without havin' to borrow someone else's.
(Rosemarie shudders visibly, the car shaking a little. Valerie frowns.)
Valerie: What's wrong, Rosie?
Rosemarie: I am still not fond of water after that flood.
Valerie: (Pats the car's door) That's why you're our aircraft.
Ursula: I'm not entirely crazy about the idea myself, but if what Micky just did works, it should be fine.
Mike: We'll set out as soon as we get outta here. (Puts his hands on Emma's shoulders) Darlin', I'm going to leave you at the house. Will you be ok?
Emma: Yes, I will.
Peter: We'll leave her with Mrs. Marion. She'll take care of her...and she'll understand there's something wrong.
Mike: All right. (Pulls Emma into his arms) Darlin', I swear I'm gonna get your soul back. I'll make you right again. I'll give my life for it, if I have to.
Emma: Yes.
(We just fade out on Mike holding Emma. Fade in on Ursula as she drives onto the water. Micky and Davy are in the front. Mike and Peter are in back of them, and Valerie and Daphne are in the very back. Everyone wears their eight-button-shirt uniforms. Mike still looks like he'll burst into tears any minute.)
Peter: (Rubs Mike's shoulder) She'll be ok, Mike. We explained what we could to Mrs. Marion. She'll keep an eye on her.
(Mike just nods, only half-listening.)
Ursula: The Japanese ship should be entering American waters soon. Keep an eye on my radar screen.
Valerie: That's not the only thing we need to watch out for. Not only are the pirates still out there, but Sheila has her own yacht...and you can bet if Alex has been on it, it's probably loaded to the deck with weird weapons.
Micky: Like a cannon, grenade launcher, machine guns...
Ursula: You'd better have added some heavy artillery to ME. I don't especially want to be sleeping with the fishes tonight!
Micky: Would I be me if I didn't?
Valerie: And it looks like we're going to be trying out those weapons soon! (Points to a large ship behind them) It's the pirates!
Mike: Mick, turn her around. We're going to attack.
Ursula: Mike, have you gone mad?
Micky: Ten-four, Capitano!
Mike: I'm tired of them firin' the first shots. Let's stay ahead of the game and ahead of what Sheila has in that nasty brain of hers.
Micky: Aye aye!
("All the King's Horses" begins as the Monkeemobile steams full tilt at the pirate's ship. Cut to Captain Harris and his men on-board. Sheila's watching in the cabin. Alex sits in the driver's seat. She points to the MonkeeMobile with a yelp - they're coming right at them!)
*Alex waves a hand and pushes some buttons, launching some fire power at the Monkeemobile.*
(Ursula sprays water on that "firepower," shorting it out.)
(Mike leans over and pushes a button. Ursula launches something at the pirate ship - it's a very hungry shark! The pirate ship seems to take off, zigging and zagging to avoid the shark!)
(Sheila pushes Alex aside and slams some buttons. Five ball bearings fly out of the ship...headed straight for Ursula!)
*A racket pops out of Ursula's trunk and bats the ball bearings back towards the Devils' boat.*
(The bearings just barely miss the boat! The Captain runs in, angry as hell. The boat goes over a wave. He's knocked over...and onto the boat's controls.)
(A hose shoots what looks like a huge fishing net over Ursula!)
(Peter pushes a button. It makes Ursula go faster...so fast, she finally breaks free of the net, leaving a car-shaped hole in it.)
(Peter points at a button. Who wants to send out that fleet of robot fish?)
*Daphne leans over and presses the button, which does indeed send out a fleet of robot fish.*
(The fish swim over to the pirate's ship and jumps onto the deck...and starts biting at the pirates, even chasing them across the deck!)
(Valerie points another button. A huge net flies out. When it opens over the pirates' ship, it dumps seaweed on everyone...including an emerging Captain Harris, Sheila, and Zelda.)
Mike: (Grins as the song ends) Yes! That's a great look for ya, Sheila!
Valerie: I think we have a good head start now. They'll be cleaning the seaweed off for hours.
Mike: Micky, turn her around again. Let's go find that Japanese ship.
Micky: Aye, aye, Captain!
(The Monkeemobile turns around and heads off into the horizon as the annoyed and angry cries coming from the pirate ship fade into the black screen.)
