Valerie: I am!

Lauren: You bet, as long as I can stay on my feet in these things. *looks at her skates* ;)

Daphne: I'm ready!

(And so, we open with everyone on the ice for the big hockey game. Shelia has her motely crew of demons and a smirking Alex; the girls stand in a circle on the other side, trying to decide who is going to play what.)

Emma: Ok, who gets to be goalie?

Lauren: Maybe I should. *wobbles* I can't skate worth a darn! :P ;)

Emma: You'll need to imagine yourself up some equipment and a mask.

Lauren: No problem. Maybe I should imagine myself into shoes instead of skates. If I'm gonna fall on my rear, I wanna do it in my own shoes. ;)

Emma: Just be careful. See? I can stand! (She does a little circle) :)

Lauren: *wobbles again* Yeah, easier said than done. *closes her eyes and blue-lights herself into goalie gear and sneakers instead of skates* Okay, now I'm ready. ;) :D

Emma: Ok, I'll defend Lauren. I played sweeper and goalie for my high school field hockey team. (Grins at Valerie and Daphne) You two are our offense. ;)

Daphne: You got it, Em! ;)

Valerie: Oh, good, that means we get to start fights, curse at the referee, and give the other guys enough bruises to make them all one big purple spot. ;)

Daphne: The best part! *high fives Valerie* ;)

Shelia: (Skates up to Daphne, followed by Alex and a couple of demons) Are you ladies ready?

Emma: (Skates in front of Lauren in the goal net) We're ready.

Daphne: Yeah! ;)

Alex: This oughta be interesting.

(A figure in a hood and black skates materialzes, drops the puck, and skates off the ice.)

Emma: Who was that?

Shelia: Our driver. ;)

Alex: A driver of many talents. ;)

(Emma and Shelia put their sticks together...but they only do it twice before Shelia takes off with it.)

Emma: Hey, that's cheating! :p

Shelia: (Grins) Did I mention there are no rules to this game, other than you have to get the puck in the net? ;)

Alex: *calls out* What'd you expect? :P ;) >:)

(Shelia, however, DOESN'T see someone push their stick out in front of her. She goes flying...and Daphne flies off on the opposite direction with the puck. ;) )

Shelia: (As "Tapioca Tundra" begins; points at Daphne as Alex and four demons hurry after her) Well, don't just STAND there! Stop her! X(

Alex: We're going, we're going! X-( :P

*Daphne flies down the ice, then comes to an abrupt stop, about ten feet in front of the net. She tips the puck on edge and whacks it hard, sending it sailing past the goalie and into the net.* :D ;)

Shelia: NO! (She skates over to Daphne and flicks her nose, then grabs the puck and flies off in the other direction)

Valerie: Hey! (She and Daphne hurry after Shelia...but Alex and several of the demons are already on their tails)

Lauren: *sees Alex and the demons coming straight at her* Oh, God. *taps her stick on the ice and checks her footing; nods*

(Emma holds up a mouse to some of the demons; they shriek and run off the ice and into the woods.)

Emma: (Growls at Alex) Oh no you don't, boy... X(

Alex: *barreling along, grinning evilly* Oh yeah?

*Alex fakes a stop in front of Emma and spins, actually leaving the ice. He lands and skates straight to the goal, slapping a shot past a diving Lauren. He throws his arms in the air, crowing, as Lauren pounds her glove on the ice in irritation.* :P

Emma: Damn it! No rules, huh? (She grabs the puck and skates as fast as she can with it, sending it to Daphne as Alex tries to grab it; Emma distracts him by tickling him with her stick. ;) )

*Daphne skates up to the net, then skates around it! She comes back around the front and slaps it to the net, but the demon goalie stops it.* :P

(Valerie tries to grab it, but two demons grab her arms and Shelia takes it, literally flying towards Lauren.)

*Lauren takes up her stance, blocking as much of the net as she can. She closes her eyes.* ;)

(As Shelia flies, a fat little bird with coppery wings lands on her nose and won't leave, no matter how hard Shelia tries to push her off. The bird does finally leave...as Shelia realizes that she's flown off the ice. She finally hits a snow bank, and we see her try to drag herself out of the snow as Emma returns to her human form and sends the puck back towards Daphne. ;) )

*Daphne flies up to the net, followed shortly by Valerie. She sends it back to Valerie, who sends it sailing into the net, past the goalie. The goalie pitches a fit, crying his eyes out.* :(( ;)

(Shelia grabs the puck...but runs smack into a tree that suddenly grew in the middle of the ice. ;) :p )

(Valerie gets the puck. There's a blue light, and suddenly she's driving a car down the ice towards the goal. ;) )

*The goalie dives out of the way, leaving the net wide open.* :-O ;)

(Valerie makes the car disappear as suddenly as it appeared and drops the puck in the goal. ;) )

*The goalie sticks his tongue out.* :P ;)

(One of the demons grabs the puck. Valerie takes a fishing pole from a man who's ice fishing nearby and sends it towards him, picks him up, and turns him around towards his own goal. ;) )

*The goalie starts waving his arms, trying to turn him around. The demon finally realizes the mistake and tries to stop...but can't! He slams right into his own goalie, and the two land in a heap with a loose puck.* ;)

(There's a literal dog...well, demon and human...pile as everyone goes for the puck. Alex comes out with it and goes towards Lauren. ;) >:) )

*Lauren sees Alex coming with the puck and recognizes the trick! Alex slides the puck from the left side to the right, and Lauren counts one. Alex does vice versa, and Lauren counts two. Alex does it again. Lauren counts three, closes her eyes, and puts her glove out as soon as Alex slaps the puck. A matter of seconds go in slow motion as the puck goes sailing towards the net. Everything stops as we wait to find out where it went.* ;)

Daphne: *calls out* Well!? Didja stop it?

*Lauren opens her eyes and looks down at her closed glove. She flicks her wrist, tossing the puck into the air from her glove. She grins widely as the puck hits the ice in front of her.* :D ;)

(Shelia screams as the song winds down and the demons and Alex rally around her.)

Katie: (Claps and jumps up and down) Yay Mama! Yay Aunties! :D

*The twins jump up and down, hugging each other and screaming happily.* :D

Emma: (As the girls join her center ice) Well, Shelia, we win. We demand that you release our families and friends and leave us the HELL alone. X(

Shelia: Not so fast! Remember I mentioned this was our Olympics? There's more than one event in the Olympics, you know.

Valerie: What? :o

Lauren: *groans* Oh, great. :P

Shelia: Next is the bobsled. Alex will race one of you. Obviously, the winner keeps her soul. ;)

Lauren: I'll do it! ;)

Alex: Ahh... >:) ;)

*A black light surrounds the group once again. Everyone reappears at the top of a steep, high, and long hill. Alex stands, leaning against a sled.* >:)

Emma: Alex, you'd better play fair this time. X(

*Lauren blue-lights herself a sled and sticks her tongue out at Alex.* :P ;)

Alex: Moi? *rolls his eyes* >:)

Valerie: Don't think we didn't see the stuff you guys pulled during the hockey game. :p

Emma: Where are the kids? X(

Alex: Sorry. *there's another black light, and the three kids appear with the rest of the ladies* :P ;)

Emma: Katie! (She runs to her daughter and pulls her into her arms) :D

Katie: Mama! (Points at the bobsled run) Wat dat?

Emma: Those are bobsleds, honey, like on the Matterhorn at Disneyland. Aunt Lauren is going to race Alex.

Katie: Disn'lan'! :D

(Valerie and Daphne pick up the twins.)

Valerie: Alex, where are the boys and the Abbies?

Alex: They're safe. ;) >:)

Shelia: Everyone ready to begin?

Lauren: You bet I am!

Alex: Yeah. ;) >:)

*The uptempo version of "Through The Looking Glass" begins in the background as Lauren and Alex get into their sleds. A demon appears with a checkered flag. He drops the flag, literally, and the two sled take off down the hill.* ;)

*Lauren's sled starts going from side to side It turns over, she wipes out. Alex flies by and turns around to laugh...until his sled hits a snow pile, leaving a hole the shape of the sled and Alex. Alex and his sled have been separated from each other on the other side of the snow pile. Lauren gets moving again while Alex is literally seeing stars.* ;)

(The girls laugh and the kids giggle as Shelia fumes and the demons shriek and curse. :p ;) :)) )

*Lauren slows her sled and sets up a wire going from tree to tree. She gives an evil grin and snicker and sneaks off, obviously, behind a tree. Alex comes zooming in on his sled and hits the wire. The sled keeps going, but he's flat on his back in the snow. Lauren laughs and gets going in her sled again.* ;) :D

(The girls and kids are doubled over laughing. Shelia jumps up and down in anger. X( :)) )

*As the song nears the end, we see the bottom of the hill and two sleds coming towards it. It's really close. Snow blows around as one sled crosses the finish line and the other tips over. As the blowing snow clears, we see Alex smack the ground, still lying in his tipped over sled. Lauren stands over the finish line, cheering.* :D

(The girls and kids all run to Lauren. They hug her and slap her on the back; the twins climb in the bobsled and hug and kiss her. Shelia stomps over to Alex, not very happy. :p :D)

Emma: Nice work, Lauren! :D

Katie: (Claps) Yay! :D

Valerie: (Grins) 'Yay' is right! :)

Lauren: Aw, it was nothin'. ;) :D

Shelia: (Growls as some of the demons help Alex out of the bobsled) Our next event involves skiing. (Crosses her arms and smirks) Which of you know how to ski?

Valerie: (Frowns) I do. I've been going to Vail with my father and sister since I was eight.

Shelia: I've been skiing for as long as it's been in existance. ;)

Valerie: (Mutters) Touche. :p

Shelia: Our next match - the Downhill Run! (There's a black light, and the group now reappears at the top of another mountain, their hockey uniforms traded for colorful snow gear. Valerie and Shelia have goggles, skis, and poles.)

Valerie: (Looks at herself) Not like my skii equipment in Vail, but certainly high-quality. ;)

Shelia: Nothing but the best. ;) >:)

Valerie: Ready to get highly aquainted with the snow, Shelia? ;)

Shelia: Are you? ;)

Valerie: Never been more ready, Shelia.

(A demon shoots off a gun - it's the "Bang" gun from "One Man Shy" and "Monkees In Texas," but we hear the noise anyway - and the girls are off.)

(Shelia nudges Valerie, trying to push her into snow banks, but Valerie avoids her.)

*Shelia then tries to spray snow at Valerie, but the wind blows it back into her face.* :P

(As Valerie chuckles at Shelia's mistake, she doesn't realize she's skiing right into the woods. We hear some sound effects of crashing, ripping, annoyed small woodland creatures, and "Whooooaaaa"s as Valerie finally re-emerges, covered with pine needles and sticks, her snow suit a bit worse for the wear, but otherwise fine...and ahead of Shelia, thanks to her inadvertant shortcut. :p :D)

*Shelia attempts a shortcut of her own, but ends up on the ski jump ramp. She goes airborn and gives a yell worthy of Goofy.* ;) :D

(She crashes into the woods as Valerie speeds ahead of her and goes through the black ribbon strung across two poles at the bottom of the hill. The demon shoots the "bang" gun again, and Valerie turns around to see what became of Shelia as the others make their way down the hill. :D ;) )

*Shelia drags herself along, covered in snow and muttering.* :P X-(

Valerie: (As the others gather around her) I've won your challenge, Shelia. I want to see my husband again...and the other men, and our friends and one of my biggest-selling acts. :p X(

Shelia: *growls; Alex whispers something in her ear* Not yet. We have another event, a skating race. ;) >:)

Emma: Another one?

Valerie: (Mutters) I'm surprised you didn't suggest we do figure skating. ;)

Lauren: *nudges Valerie* Don't give them ideas. :P

(There's a black light around the group. When it subsides, the entire group is back at the pond in the woods where the hockey game took place, but a demon drives a Zamboni, clearing the ice. The goals are gone, replaced with orange cones.)

Shelia: Our next event is speed-skating. (Looks at Alex) Would you like to take this one, dear? ;)

Alex: *cracks his knuckles* Sure, Milady. ;)

Shelia: (Turns to the group) Which one of you would like to take Alex on? ;)

Emma: Who hasn't gone yet?

Valerie: Em, I think it's either you or Daphne.

Daphne: *to the other ladies* Can I, can I? ;) :D

Emma: Go right ahead. ;)

Shelia: But first... (a shimmering wall of black light surrounds the others; when it subsides, the group is back behind the invisible wall)

Emma: Hey! (She and Katie pound on the wall)

Kaite: Nonono! :p

Valerie: Shelia, what's going on?

Shelia: This playing field is a bit more...open. I'm making sure there are no mishaps.

Emma: Better not be any from YOU, either. X(

Shelia: I'll do what I wish.

Emma: No, you won't. Promise you won't interfere.

Shelia: Must I?

Katie: Bad lady! :p

Lauren: Yes! :P

Shelia: Fine, fine. (Mutters) I won't interfere. (Louder) There. Happy now? :p

Lauren: Are you afraid Alex can't win on his own, Shelia? ;)

Shelia: NO!

Emma: I don't think that's true. ;)

Lauren: Me neither. ;)

Alex: Hey, I do just fine on my own! :P

Emma: Well, why don't you two start the race, and we'll see how well you do? ;)

Valerie: I hope you're better at skating than you are at bobsledding or playing hockey. ;)

*Alex blows a razzberry at them.* :P

Shelia: (Indicates a line of small cones) The game is simple. You must go around the pond four times on the track. Whoever is the fastest is the winner. ;)

Daphne: Gotcha.

Alex: This'll be a sinch. ;)

Emma: (Chuckles) That's what YOU think. ;)

Valerie: You're as bad as Zero, Alex. You underestimate us. ;)

*Alex scoffs.* ;) >:)

*The two competitors make their skates appear and tie them on.*

(A demon with a checkered flag appears between the two as "No Time" begins. He lowers the flag, they take off...and he jumps up and down because someone ran over his toes. :o ;) )

*Alex grins. A hole in the ice appears in front of them. He jumps over it with ease.* ;)

(Daphne skates around it. ;) )

*The zamboni starts following Daphne, the demon driving it hooting for her.* ;)

(Daphne looks over her shoulder and makes a face. There's a blue light around the Zamboni. When it subsides, the Zamboni is turned in the other direction, towards a snowbank. ;) :p)

*The zamboni slams into the snowbank and the driver hangs out the window, seeing little cartoon stars.* ;)

(Daphne skates ahead of Alex, grinning. ;) :D)

*Alex growls. He makes a small wooden crate appear in his hands. The letters "A.C.M.-" are visible. He pulls two small rocket packs from the crate and ties them to his skates. He turns them on and takes off over a snowbank, airborn!* ;)

(Daphne passes him again as Shelia runs to the snowbank, wondering where on EARTH he went to. ;) :p )

*Alex's head pops up from IN the snowbank. He makes a face, and the rocket packs send him airborn again, straight up! He lands back on the ice, rips the packs off, and throws them in the hole that's still in the ice.* :P

(Daphne skates past Alex again...backwards. ;) )

*Alex makes a couple hurdles directly in front of Daphne.* ;)

(She jumps them...but stumbles on the last one as Alex passes her. :o :p )

*Alex laughs, passing her, but falls into the hole in the ice, into the water!* :P

(Shelia and a couple of demons haul a frozen Alex out of the water as Daphne passes them. ;) :p)

(Shelia runs a huge hair dryer over Alex to defrost him, then sets him on his feet again. ;) :p )

*Alex takes off again, still shivering and moving much slower than before.* ;)

(Daphne passes him again...skating on her hands. ;) )

*Alex creates an oil slick ahead of Daphne.* ;)

(Daphne quickly concentrates. She's back on her feet again, which turns out to be a good thing, because she slips on the oily ice. She doesn't fall, but she's a bit slower when she gets through, as her skates are sticky. What Alex forgets, though, is that he's BEHIND her...and the oil slick is still in front. ;) )

*Alex attempts to jump over the slick, but he's still slow moving. He lands in the slick face-down. He skids toward another snowbank, leaving a black streak.* ;)

(Daphne finally passes the goal as the demon lowers the checkered flag. Shelia and a demon with a stopwatch go to Alex as the invisible wall is let down and the women and kids run to Daphne. :D)

Emma: (As the music runs down) Nice skating there, Daph! :D

Valerie: Good work! :)

Lauren: You reminded me of the Roadrunner for some reason, Daph. ;)

*The twins cheer, yelling "Beep, beep!"* :D ;)

Katie: Shup-AH gen'is! :D

Valerie: Well, that was some genius work, Daph. (Nods at Alex) He should know better than to buy from that company. ;)

Lauren: Then again, I have seen those crates in person before. ;) :P

Emma: (Turns towards Shelia and Alex as they come over; Alex shivers and hobbles a bit) Well, you two? Had enough of us kicking your rears? ;)

*Alex nods and sneezes.* :P ;)

Shelia: Why don't we do something a little different?

Emma: Like what, kill us outright? You already tried that. X(

Shelia: No. We're going to play a maze game. ;)

Lauren: A maze? I think the cold weather's getting to you, Shelia. :P ;)

Shelia: (As it begins to snow) No, but it WILL get to you. You wanted to find your friends and soulmates, right? (Smirks) That's where they are.

Daphne: IN the maze? Oh, great. :P 8-|

Shelia: Oh, and to make things a bit more challenging, you will all be doing this separately, except for mothers and their children. (Smirks wider) You must find your soulmates and your friends within an hour's time, or all of your souls are forfeit. >:)

Emma: (Shrieks) WHAT? ARE YOU CRAZY? X(

Shelia: Yes. Are you? ;) >:)

Lauren: I suppose asking to start at the END of the maze is out of the question, then. :P ;)

Shelia: What fun would that be? Besides, it would make for an awfully short story. ;)

Daphne: Darn. :P ;)

Shelia: (Looks at the darkening sky) It's getting late. Let's get this moving. Alex and I have souls to freeze at the hotel. ;)

Emma: (Growls) No WAY! X(

Valerie: What? :o

Shelia: Why do you think PPF bought that hotel? ;) >:)

Lauren: Oh good grief. :P

Shelia: We'll pop up from time to time as well to mark your progress and play a few games of our own with you. (She grins evily) Oh, and ladies? Break a leg. ;) >:)

(There's a black light around the group, and they all disappear.)
