So...everyone ready to find Lauren's soul?
Mike: We'd better.
Peter: We're coming, guys!
Micky: Definitely.
Davy: Ready!
(We open on a dusty road in the desert behind the Ghost Town complex. Mike, Emma, Daphne, and Davy are squished into the Mustang. Alex drives; Sheila has shotgun.)
Sheila: What DID your friend Al do to Zelda? She was so out of it, we had to leave her back at her apartments.
Davy: All he did was kiss her.
Sheila: She'll be worthless for weeks.
Mike: (Smirks) Gee, Alex, who'll you jump into bed with now?
Alex: Oh, it'll still be her...
Mike: At the risk of soundin' like my kids, are we there yet?
Sheila: Calm down, Knight. We're almost there.
(The Mustang stops by the edge of a cliff. It overlooks a magnificent view of the valley that includes the Ghost Town.)
Sheila: Last stop.
Mike: (As they all climb out) Ok, Sheila, where is it?
Sheila: (Points inside a cave on the cliff) It's in there.
Mike: (Growls and sniffs) I smell danger. I don't think you're tellin' the whole story.
Sheila: Of course, we aren't. Why don't we go into the cave and find out?
Mike: Only if you really have the souls there.
Alex: Of course, they're there.
Emma: Mike, we have to do this. For Lauren and her child. For Micky.
(They follow the devils into the dark caves. It's the same cave set used in "The Monkees Who Knew Too Much" and "Return to the Planet of the Monkees," only with fewer lights. Mike runs into Sheila.)
Sheila: Ow! (She smirks) Why Knight, I thought you hated me.
Mike: I do. I just can't see where we're going.
Sheila: We're going to find the soul machine, of course.
Emma: Where, on the other side of the world?
Sheila: Oh, it's being held by some friends of ours.
Mike: Why don't I like the sound of that?
Emma: (She wobbles a little as we go further into the caves) Why am I feeling a little bit tired now?
Mike: (Sniffs) There's...somethin' wrong...don't feel right...
Davy: There's something... bloody odd here...
Emma: (Leans against Mike) I don't feel so good. I feel like someone poured that "Goo" stuff all over me.
Mike: Shit. I think...think there's somethin' here that's drainin' us...
Daphne: *Nods* I don't feel so great, either.
Mike: (He grabs Alex, though it's not as hard as it could be) What are you two doin' to us?
Alex: *Smirks* Sucking out your energy, what else?
Mike: (Shakes Alex a little) Enough! Take us to the souls!
Alex: We would... but they aren't here.
Mike: (Growls) WHAT?!
Sheila: You fell for it. Did you really think we'd agree to take you to such a powerful soul...and one that's even more powerful?
Emma: You BITCH! (Lunges for Sheila, but she easily sidesteps her. Emma lands on the ground. Mike lets go of Alex and goes to her)
Mike: You ok, darlin'?
Emma: Scraped up a little and still feeling whatever they're doing to us, but my knee seems to be ok.
Sheila: Remember back when Alex was trying to steal that crystal from your cave in the desert...and how the crystal was all gone when the cave was destroyed?
Alex: Look around you.
(Sheila makes a flashlight appear. When she turns it on, she reveals walls covered with nothing but blackish crystal, glowing dimly in the bright light.)
Mike: The crystal. That's the crystal from the cave, ain't it?
Emma: You tainted it!
Sheila: "Taint" is such an ugly word. We improved it.
Alex: Exactly.
Mike: Improved, my ass! (He tries to go after Alex...but runs smack into two demons and almost ends up flat on his back)
Sheila: Oh yes, we also invited some friends over to play.
(Two more demons go after Daphne. One picks Davy up and throws him over his shoulder.)
Emma: (Screams as a demon takes her arms) MIIIKKKEEE!
Daphne: No!
Davy: Put me down, you bloody uglies!
Sheila: I'll keep the White Knight, of course. He'll be lovely in my bedroom. You can throw the rest of them off the cliff, for all I care.
Mike: Son of a BITCH! (He struggles lightly in the demons' arms, but he's not strong enough)
Sheila: (Smirks and places a necklace with a black crystal pendant around each of their necks) Don't want any of you trying to escape now.
Emma: (Groans) Oh honey....Mike...
Mike: (Growls) Em! Sheila, you witch, let her go!
Sheila: I'm flattered, but no. This is where I've wanted her and the others for centuries.
(Cut to outside. The demons drag Daphne and Emma outside. Davy is still being carried. The two demons who have Mike hand him over to Alex.)
Sheila: We'll be taking the White Knight with us. I'm feeling urges.
Mike: Yeah, well, take them somewhere else. (Points at Alex) What about him?
Sheila: Not in the mood.
Mike: Yeah, can't say I blame ya. Don't know what Zelda sees in that loon.
Alex: I suggest you keep your mouth shut, Knight.
Mike: Why? Needlin' you is fun.
Sheila: He won't shut up unless we contain him.
Mike: In what? I don't think there's much you haven't done to me.
Sheila: (She concentrates. When the black light subsides, she now holds a little black mouse) We haven't done this yet. Would you like a pet mouse, Alex?
Alex: I would love one.
Emma: Nooo! Mike!
Sheila: (Hands Alex Mike the Mouse) Here you go. Play nice. Don't damage him too badly. I want him in by bed tonight.
Alex: As you wish, Milady.
(Mike the Mouse nibbles on Alex's thumb.)
Alex: I think my pet mouse needs to make friends with a hungry cat, but since that would damage you too much, I think I'll just lock you in a rodent maze.
(Mike the Mouse somehow manages to make a very wolf-like growl.)
Emma: Alex, turn him back!
Alex: Not a chance.
Sheila: Let's get out of here, before the White Mouse escapes. Demons, just tie them up and throw them off the cliff.
(There's a black light. Sheila, Alex, and Mike the Mouse disappear.)
Emma: Damn it! No!
Demon #1: Ok, we gotta tie you guys up, or somethin'.
Demon #2: (Makes a face as Davy kicks him) Yeah, this guy is dentin' my backside.
Davy: And I'm going to keep doing that!
Demon #3: Maybe we oughtta do what Milady said and tie these guys together.
(They push the trio on the ground and wrap the rope around them, at least as tightly as demons can.)
Demon #1: Who gets to throw 'em off the cliff?
Demon #2: Can I do it?
Demon #3: You get to have all the fun! I'll do it!
Demon #1: I'm the biggest, so I should do it!
Demon #4: I'm the oldest!
Demon #1: So?
(Suddenly, the MonkeeMobile seems to appear from out of nowhere, careening around the side of the cliff! It comes to a screeching stop near the entrance of the cave.)
Peter: (As he climbs out with his crossbow) Don't anyone move! We have the place surrounded!
Jordan: (Holds his little plastic bow and arrow) Yeah!
Emma: Guys!
Demon #1: Where did you guys come from?
Micky: The car, where else?
Ursula: (She climbs out of the car, followed by the twins and Katie holding wooden swords) Release them this instant!
Demon #1: Milady Ursula? Bu...bu...but you're dead!
Demon #2: I'm seein' things! (Rubs his eyes)
Demon #3: These ol' mines really are haunted!
Ursula: I am dead, you fools. You're seeing my spirit.
Demon #4: How? I mean...how?
Demon #1: This is too weird for me. I'm gettin' outta here.
Demon #2: Ghosts?
Demon #4: Let's scram!
(And they do so, several of them screaming about ghosts as they run into the caves.)
Ursula: Idiots.
Peter: Nice work, Urse.
Ursula: Well, it got rid of them didn't it?
Katie: Mama! (She runs to her mother) Are you ok?
Emma: No, honey. Get these necklaces off of us.
Katie: How come I feel kind of funny?
Peter: (Frowns) I recognize the shape of that crystal...
Emma: It's our crystal, the crystal Alex stole from the cave last year. It's been tainted.
Micky: *Groans* Dammit.
Peter: Maybe... (He reaches out to Emma and uses the blunt end of the arrow to tug at her necklace and break the chain; hands an arrow to Micky) You do Davy. I'll get Daphne.
Micky: Thanks. *repeats the process with the crystal around Davy's neck*
Davy: Thanks, mate
(Ursula manages to get Daphne's without the use of an arrow.)
Ursula: There, Huntress. (Smiles gently) I'm a spirit. I don't feel these things the way you do when I'm outside of the car or crystal.
Emma: Guys, the devils lead us into a trap. They never intended to give us Lauren's soul...and now, they have Mike, too. They turned him into a mouse.
Micky: Wonderful.
Peter: I thought I saw the Mustang when we were coming up here.
Emma: (As Peter unties them) Do you think we could catch up with them?
Ursula: (She throws the necklaces over the cliff) Give the engine capacity of the MonkeeMobile, I think we have a very good chance of being able to waylay them in the desert.
Peter: We need a plan, though. They'll just catch us if we go after them the usual way.
Emma: Micky, didn't you say you added some new gadgets to the MonkeeMobile?
Micky: Yeah...
Ursula: Fair warning. He's been watching old Warner Brothers cartoons on the monitor in the Beach Cave again.
Peter: That may be just what we need right now.
Peter: What do you mean, Ursula?
Ursula: Micky, wasn't one of the things you added to the MonkeeMobile a "stealth" mode for quiet entries?
Micky: Yeah.
Ursula: Why don't we give my sister a nice little surprise?
Jordan: I love surprises!
Katie: Can we attack them? I wanna use this! (Holds up her sword)
Ursula: (Smirk grows wider) Why not? After all, my sister just LOVES children.
Jordan: I thought she didn't like us!
(Peter and Katie sigh in unison.)
(Cut to the porch of the General Store in the Ghost Town. Mike sits in a hamster's cage on a table. Sheila rocks in a rocking chair, making Mike run around on the wheel.)
Sheila: We want you in good shape for tonight. (Calls over her shoulder to Alex) How are you coming with Zelda?
Alex: Dammit! I'm not! She's completely gone! How that hell did he DO this?
Sheila: Maybe we've finally found someone who's better than you are.
Alex: Don't start with me, Sheila.
Sheila: We should go over to the saloon and round up the others while we can. Maybe we'll find out what makes that Al so darn GOOD.
*Zelda sighs dreamily.*
Alex: I like that idea.
(Cut to the saloon. Valerie plays with the children. Al brings a drink to Lauren.)
Valerie: How is she, Al?
Al: *Watches as she sips the water, just staring ahead* No change, still staring into space. *shakes his head* I feel horrible about this.
Valerie: Al, it really isn't your fault. (Frowns) They should have gotten back by now. Peter called me on his communicator and said they were going after them, but we haven't seen anyone.
Al: You don't think something's happened to them, do you?
Valerie: It's possible. Peter said he, Micky, and the older kids went out to check on them.
(That's when the swinging door to the saloon opens. Sheila strides in, followed by Alex carrying Mike the Mouse in a cage and the still-dazed Zelda.)
Valerie: Sheila, what are you doing here? Where are the others?
Sheila: Oh, they just ran off a cliff.
Valerie: Please, I wasn't born yesterday. What did you do with them?
Alex: Actually, our demons dumped them over the side of a cliff.
Valerie: What?!
Robbie: NO! Mama! Papa!
Sheila: Oh, your papa's fine. Here he is! (She indicates the mouse, who squeaks)
Robbie: My papa's a papa, not mousie!
Alex: *Smirks* Sorry, kid, but your papa's a mouse now.
Al: I don't believe this.
Sheila: Zelda, how would you like to keep the little caterer? He could cater to you only forever.
Valerie: (Gathers the younger children behind her) Sheila, are you mad?
*Zelda nods, grinning widely.*
Al: Oh, no way!
(That's when a burst of blue light knocks Sheila into the back wall, next to the back booth! Ursula storms in, followed by the others, all armed.)
Ursula: Sheila, enough!
Valerie: (Eyes widen) Urse?
Robbie: The pretty lady!
Lizzie: Oooh, the lady from this morning!
Valerie: (Grins and points to Sheila) How would you kids like to practice the way your parents do?
Robbie: Weely?
Valerie: You can practice your attacking on the Bad Lady.
Katie: (Points to Sheila) Go attack her, Little Mick! She's gonna hurt our mamas and papas again!
*Little Mick runs over and pounces angrily on Sheila.*
(Katie runs up and hits her on the head with her sword! Jordan tries to shoot an arrow at her, but it lands near her feet. He makes a face.)
(Robbie grabs her legs. Lizzie and Leah take her arms.)
Emma: Let Mike go, Alex!
Alex: Not a chance!
(That's when something white seems to kick Alex in the behind! He goes flying over the bar. We hear crashing and groaning when he lands.)
Ursula: (She leans over the bar and says to the off-camera Alex) You should never, ever get a spirit angry.
*Alex merely groans.*
Ursula: Release the White Knight from your spell and the Mother's soul!
Sheila: (From under Little Mick) I'll release the White Knight. There's no use in keeping him now. (Smirks) But I won't release the Mother's soul, or that of her child.
Ursula: What if I fight you for it?
Sheila: A showdown?
Ursula: Just you and me and our powers. We'll see who's the strongest.
Sheila: Very well. Call off your brats, and we'll seal the deal.
Valerie: (Grins) Ok, kids, you did a great job. You can let the prisoner go now.
Katie: You don't have to be mad anymore, Little Mick.
Little Mick: Awww!
Sheila: By the way, Savage, when did your brat get so blasted STRONG? That's the second time he's managed to knock me over like that!
Micky: *Shrugs* Inherited.
Sheila: Alex, we'll go back to the General Store and prepare. I don't think we'll get Zelda away from the caterer now. We'll just leave her here.
Emma: Not before you restore my husband to his human form.
Sheila: (Sees Ursula glare at her) If we must.
Ursula: (Crosses her arms) Yes, you must.
*Zelda goes to Al and wraps her arms around him.*
(There's a black light around the mouse in the cage. When it subsides, the cage is gone. Emma, Katie, and Robbie run over to the now-human Mike.)
Sheila: A half-hour. That's all you have. We will meet at high noon. (Rolls her eyes) And I'm not working on a tan! I have an appointment in LA at 1:30, and I'd like to end this before that!
Mike: (Puts an arm around Emma) Whatever you say, Sheila.
Sheila: (Pulls Alex away from the bar) Are you in good enough shape to go across the street?
Alex: Yeah, fine.
Sheila: Let's go, then. (Whispers to Alex) We need to think up some dirty tricks to make sure we keep those souls...and get theirs, too.
Alex: Of course.
Ursula: (Watches them as they saunter out, laughing) I don't trust them to not pull anything. Micky, Peter, Emma, and Valerie, I want you to stay with the children and Lauren while I distract Sheila. Mike, Davy, and Daph, you go after Alex and make sure he and Ursula actually free her soul. Al, you go meet Sergeant Nielson and the other policemen.
Mike: (Gently tugs Zelda away) We'll keep an eye on your lover here.
Zelda: No, I wanna go, too!
Al: I will gladly to meet with Nielson.
Zelda: *Reaches out for him* No, don't leave me!
Mike: Looks to me like Zelda wants to go with him.
Al: Aw, no...
Peter: (Whispers to Al) You can turn her over to Nielson when you get there. He really wants all three of them behind bars, even more than we do.
Al: Gladly.
*Zelda runs over to Al and latches onto him again.*
Al: Oh, bother. *heads out with Zelda practically hanging off of him*
