Everyone ready for some negotiation?

Mike: Negotiate, hell.

Peter: Michael, calm down. (Sighs) Yes, I am.

Davy: Ready.

*Micky just sighs.*

(We open in the saloon. Emma, Daphne, and Davy play with the children in an area set up on the bandstand, which has been cleared of instruments. Mike, Peter, Valerie, and Al sit at the bar, waiting for the devils to arrive.)

Peter: You told them, right?

Mike: Yeah, I told them. Sheila said they're comin'.

Valerie: Micky, how's Lauren coming?

Micky: *Wanders over to them and slumps into a stool* She isn't. She just keeps staring out into nothing.

Mike: (Sighs) I feel for ya, buddy. This is exactly how I felt a few months ago, when they took Em's soul.

Valerie: (Grins at Micky and Al) How's the prisoner?

Micky: She's out there, too. *slight smirk* I think ya did too good, Al.

Al: *Sighs* I just wish it had worked.

Valerie: She really wanted that kiss.

Al: And I would have preferred to NOT give it to her.

Mike: The devils are sneaky like that. They have ways of gettin' what you want...even when it's the last thing on Earth you'd like to give them.

Al: So I’ve noticed.

Valerie: As long as Zelda doesn't try to take off before we can negotiate. I really don't want to have to restrain her. The devils have done that enough to us over the years.

Micky: I don't think that's gonna happen. Check out who she's staring at.

Al: *Glances over* Oh bother.

Mike: (Laughs) She's really gone about ya, Al.

Al: *Rolls his eyes* How wonderful for me.

(The camera suddenly cuts to the swinging doors. Sheila, wearing a checked shirt, jeans, and a cowboy hat, strides in, followed by Alex.)

Sheila: (Frowns at Zelda) What did you do to her?

Mike: (Juts a thumb at Al) Ask him.

Al: Thanks, Mike.

Sheila: Let's be honest with each other.

(Mike snorts.)

Valerie: You, honest? That's funny.

Sheila: We want Zelda back. You want the Mother's soul and that of her child, which we have no desire to give up to anyone. Shall I repeat it for readers who may have missed previous parts?

Valerie: No, I think we all caught that.

Sheila: Alex and I have discussed the matter... (Sees Alex glaring at Zelda, who still stares dazedly at Al) Alex! (Nudges him)

Valerie: (Smirks) I think someone's jealous.

Alex: What?

Sheila: (Sighs) Alex and I have discussed the matter, and we think we're willing to make a bargain.

Mike: This better be legit.

Sheila: Oh, it's quite legitimate. Alex badly wants Zelda back in his arms. Isn't that right, Alex? ;)

Alex: Damn right.

Valerie: (Nods) We'll hear your bargain.

Sheila: First of all, we want you to call off whatever you did to Zelda.

Al: Uh, well...

Mike: We're tellin' ya, we didn't do that. (Points to Al) She kissed him.

Sheila: Must have been some kiss.

*Al just turns a few shades of red.*

Sheila: Anyway, we'll agree to lead you to the building where we keep the souls in exchange for Zelda and a few answers to some questions we've had on those cars of yours.

Emma: (From the bandstand) What about the kids?

Mike: I hate doin' this, but maybe we should split up.

Micky: *Nods* Someone has to stay with the kids here.

Peter: Someone has to watch Lauren, too.

Mike: I'm goin'.

Micky: I'm going.

Peter: Maybe you ought to stay with Lauren...

Micky: *A little whiny* I wanna get her soul back myself!

Davy: Mick, you're not thinking straight.

Mike: We understand that, Buddy, but Lauren and your kids need you here.

Micky: But...

Peter: What if I stayed with you, Micky? Al and me and Valerie?

Micky: *Nods* Okay.

Valerie: Don't forget the kids and the cars, too.

Al: That's assuming that Zelda will leave without me.

Mike: (Leans over Zelda and waves his hand in her face) Zelda? Yoo hoo! Your other lover boy is here!

Zelda: *Dreamy* Hm?

Valerie: (Takes Zelda's arm) We're going to...show you where Al has all his fun! Isn't that nice?

*Zelda grins and nods.*

Valerie: (Hands her over to Alex) She's all yours.

Alex: Thank you. *puts an arm around her*

Emma: So, Mike, Davy, Daphne, and I will go with the devils to where they have the souls. The rest of you will stay here with the kids and the cars.

Peter: (Nods and turns to Micky) Val can stay with the little kids. Maybe the older ones could help us with Urse.

Valerie: It'll make them feel better.

Micky: Okay.

Sheila: (Impatiently) Well, are you ready, or what?

Mike: Yeah, we're ready.

(Mike, Emma, Daphne, and Davy follow the devils out of the saloon. Katie, Jordan, and the twins head over to Micky and Peter, while Valerie sits down with the younger children.)

Katie: What's going on? Why did Papa and Mama go with the Bad People?

Peter: They're going to find Aunt Lauren's light.

Katie: Really? (She turns to the twins) Did you hear that? They're going to find your mommy's light!

Jordan: That'll make her feel better!

Little Mick: *Nods* Yes, it will.

Katie: Can we do something, too?

Peter: (Nods) You can help us check on the cars and make sure they're ok.

Katie: I love playing with the cars!

Jordan: It'll be like playing with Hot Wheels...but BIG.

Peter: (Turns to Micky) Maybe working with cars will help you feel better, too.

Micky: I'll try.

Peter: (Puts his arms around Micky's shoulders) That's the spirit!

Jordan: Your light looks nicer, Uncle Micky!

Peter: Working with cars always makes your Uncle happy.

(Cut to outside, behind the saloon. He turns to Micky.)

Peter: We could take a quick look-over at both of them, just to make sure nothing's wrong with the frames, then see if we can confiscate some tools from Alex.

Micky: Okay.

Peter: How would you kids like to check inside Aunt Ursula and make sure that's ok?

Katie: We can do that!

Peter: Just don't touch anything or try to turn her on, ok?

Jordan: We wouldn't do that!

(Peter helps the four kids into the interior of the car. He and Micky walk around the exterior, checking even the smallest part to make sure she's intact.)

Micky: Well, she looks okay. *places a hand on her hood* What in the world? She feels sticky! *Pulls his hand away* Oh no... Peter, they used Goo on her!

Peter: The Goo? That black slime concoction of Alex's that slows us down?

Micky: Yes... *holds his hand out* get it off me...

(Peter pulls a rag out of the glove compartment and wipes off Micky's hand, then throws the rag away.)

Katie: They put bad stuff on Aunt Ursula?

Jordan: Why?

Micky: We need to clean her off.

Katie: Can we help?

Peter: (Pulls more rags out of the glove compartment) Yes. We'll need all the help we can get! Just don't touch the grille or the tires or anything that might roll.

Katie: (Turns to the others) Let's help make Aunt Ursula better!

("As We Go Along" begins as the kids all pile out of the car. Katie starts first, staying at the front driver's side door. Jordan moves to the trunk. His father rubs the grille and the hood.)

(Katie accidentally jostles Little Mick when they reach the same spot on the right-hand driver's side door. She makes a face and tries to clean over him.)

*Little Mick just holds his space, slightly bumping into Katie.*

(Katie bumps him back.)

*Little Mick bumps slightly harder.*

(Peter sees the two and gets between them. No fighting! We're supposed to be helping Aunt Ursula. He takes Mick around the other side to his father and sister.)

(Shelly shakes her head. She points at the driver's side mirror. You're the tallest kid, Little Mick. Why don't you wipe the window? Katie can't do that!)

*Little Mick nods and does so.*

(Jordan proudly shows Peter the patch of exterior he did over the "Monkees" name. Peter ruffles his hair, and he beams.)

Katie: (As they all pull back to reveal the shiny, Goo-less Ursula and the music ends) She looks much better now!

Jordan: Her light's brighter!

Peter: I hope Alex didn't do anything else to her.

Shelly: Could we make her talk now?

Peter: (Nods) That's a good idea, Shelly. That way, she could tell us if anything else is wrong with her.

(Everyone piles into the car. Peter puts his hand on the dashboard...but nothing happens.)

Micky: Man, Urse...

Peter: The Goo must have really wiped her out.

Katie: Aunt Ursula's not feeling well?

Peter: We think the black stuff made her tired.

Micky: *Sighs* Now what?

Peter: (Flips open the dashboard to reveal the dark console) Nothing. Nothing's working, not even her monitor.

Jordan: Daddy...I think she needs to be touched.

Katie: Yeah, we came here with Aunt Lauren this morning, an' we touched her, an' a pretty lady came out!

Peter: Pretty lady.... (Turns to Micky) The kids and Lauren must have brought out her souls...

Katie: Was the lady Aunt Ursula? She said she was.

Micky: *Snaps his fingers* That's how Lauren found me! She had Urse's spirit with her!

Peter: (Nods) It makes sense. Lauren and the kids must have brought Urse's spirit out of the car, and she and Lauren went after you when Lauren told her that we were gone.

Katie: Maybe we could do it again!

Peter: It's worth a try. Everyone put your hands on the dashboard, like you did before, and concentrate.

Katie: I hope this helps Aunt Ursula!

Jordan: I don't want her to be sad!

Micky: Come on, Urse...don't be like me...

(At first, nothing happens. Then, we gradually see more blue light all around the car...until, in a burst of blue, Ursula once again appears, this time sitting in the front between Peter and Micky.)

Katie: Aunt Ursula, you're back!

Ursula: (Rubs her head) Blast that sister of mine and her infernal helpers!

Micky: Are you okay?

Ursula: I am now. Just angry. I wish I could have gotten my hands on that blasted Alex. (Smirks) I did give him a very nasty shock, though. Those security measures you put in to keep unwary hands out of my dashboard worked splendidly.

Micky: *Slight smile* Good.

Ursula: I tried to tell him that it's not nice to stick sharp instruments into a woman's front end.

Katie: Can we go help Mama and Papa now?

Peter: Urse, the others went with Sheila and Alex to retrieve the souls of Lauren and her child.

Ursula: What?! Those little...

Peter: I don't think they were telling the truth. They're probably just trying to trap them.

Jordan: What about Mommy and Aunt Lauren?

Peter: (Nods) We'll have them stay with the younger children. They have Rosemarie. We'll call them when we need them.

Ursula: (Nods) I don't want the little ones wandering around and seeing far more than they need to at their ages.

Peter: I agree. I have my communicator in my back pocket. (Blushes) I did try to use it in Nebraska, but I couldn't get a reading on anyone.

Micky: So now what?

Ursula: I doubt you could that far out.

Peter: We'll drive back around to the main town and see if we can find the others.

Ursula: I can feel my sister. She's up to something....and she's trying to hide it.

Micky: Wonderful.

Katie: Can we come too?

Peter: I don't know...

Katie: Maybe we can help!

Jordan: I can see lights!

Katie: I can turn into a doggie!

Shelly: Mick gets really, REALLY mad and runs into people! He did it to the Bad People this morning!

Ursula: (Looks at Micky) Sounds like your rage powers are inherited, too.

Micky: *Shrugs* Sure does sound like it.

Shelly: (Looks at Micky) Daddy, Mick ran into the Bad People, and he broke things!

Katie: I'm glad he broke that one lamp. It was ugly!

Peter: Yes, but it's not nice to break other people's things, no matter how angry you are or how ugly you thing those things are.

Micky: *Claps Little Mick's shoulder* We'll talk about it later, kiddo.

Ursula: Let's move along, then. You can drive, Micky. I'm afraid I have no idea how to run a vehicle unless I'm in that vehicle.

Micky: *Frowns, rubbing his head* Are you SURE that's a good idea?

Peter: Maybe it'll help you think.

Ursula: Besides, you know the car best.

Micky: All right.

(Micky puts the key in the ignition and revs the motor. Peter flips open his communicator and rings Valerie. Cut to the back end of the MonkeeMobile as it drives off into the desert, trailing dust in its wake.)
