Everyone ready to further explore the ruins?
Mike: (Growls) If they'll let me go now! X(
Peter: I'm scared! :(
Micky: I'm ready!
Davy: Do we 'ave a choice?
(We open back in the hotel with Carmelita, who nails boards over windows in the common room.)
Carmelita: (Looks out a broken window) I hope they return soon. I should not have let them go.
*Lauren and Daphne enter the common room, dripping wet.*
Carmelita: Poor Senoritas! You are soaked through skin! (She puts down the hammer) Let me get you some blankets, and when I finish hammering, I will make hot chocolate.
Lauren: Thanks, Carmelita.
Daphne: We didn't have quite enough time to get back before the rain started.
Carmelita: (Goes to a closet and takes out a few soft fleece blankets, then hands them to the girls) It is bad out there! The wind is so fierce, it blew in windows all over hotel. :p
(Indeed, we do hear the sound of the rain and wind lashing against the hotel, tearing at trees and making shutters and doors bang and splinter.)
Lauren: Sounds as bad as you think it is.
Carmelita: (As she returns to hammering) Where are your husbands and my brothers? Did you find ruins?
Lauren: (Puts a blanket around her) We found ruins. The guys wanted to keep looking, so we came back while they continued.
Carmelita: (Puts down the hammer, her eyes wide) Really? There are ruins?
Daphne: Yes, there are.
Carmelita: That's amazing! We must contact authorities! Do you know where the others are now?
Lauren: I'd take a guess they're still in the same area or near there.
Carmelita: I hope the others are ok. They have not returned. I do not know what under the basement...
(She gets down from the chair she stood on.)
Carmelita: There. Done. (Turns to the two women) I tried to call the electric company, but I could not get through. The phone lines do not seem to be down yet. Do you think they will need help?
Daphne: Knowing the guys...
Lauren: Probably. ;)
Carmelita: Do you think police is right? After all, there is no crime...
(That's when there's another noise...and a crash, and the sound of something crashing into rock.)
Lauren: That did not sound good.
Carmelita: Oh dear. I think that may be roof. (Looks at the other three women) I wonder if cars are fine? We could brave south road. It is upland and does not flood so easy. It might be good to get help that way. (Looks around) I do not think hotel is good to be at anymore. (Indicates the closet) Help me gather all things we will need. We will contact help, to get us all out, then come back for the others. Ruins are not so important as getting all of us safe, even your Sheila and Alex.
Daphne: *nods* Okay.
Carmelita: First, the blankets, then we must get first aid kit and as many of our things as can fit in car. (They gather the blankets as the scene fades.)
(Cut back to the rock walls of the ruins. Micky, Davy, Jack, Nyles, and the Martinez brothers walk down another tunnel, occasionally pushing moss or roots aside.)
Manuel: Man, this is crazy! What the heck are we lookin' for, anyway?
Jose: Gold! Treasure! Aztecs were said to be loaded, man!
Micky: Just keep an eye out, guys.
Manuel: This is crazy. This is nuts. What am I doing down here, wandering around in some ancient neverending hallway, looking for treasure that probably doesn't exist?
Jose: Adventure!
Manuel: (Stops) Hey, what's that?
Jose: A jungle animal?
Manuel: In here? :p
(The whole group stops and listens.)
Manuel: I don't think it's a jungle animal.
Jose: Aw, I wanted to wrestle a panther!
Nyles: Damn!
Jack: *shakes head* We don't need that, guys.
Manuel: I think someone's coming!
Jose: Maybe they have treasure!
Davy: Sounds like feet...human feet.
Jose: Maybe it the others?
Micky: Let’s just hope it's someone friendly.
(A group of Parador's men troop into the tunnel.)
Man 1: Did you see them?
Man 2: No. General Parador wanted the others to come to him.
Man 3: Why don't he just feed them to crocs? :p
Man 1: Senorita London say they valuable, especially the tall, skinny boy. She not want them harm.
Man 3: She no care about him! She just want Sun Stone the General like so much. :p
Manuel: I think these guys are after us!
Jose: What will we do?
Man 1: (Stops; listens) What that?
Man 2: There are people here! I hear breathing!
Manuel: I think we're busted.
Man 3: You there! Come out! We have you surrounded!
Micky: Great. :P
Man 1: (He goes up to Micky, aiming his rifle at him) Put your hands up, Senor.
Micky: Alright, alright! *puts his hands up, but glances at the others*
Manuel: I'm not goin' with you guys!
Jose: Don't shoot! We no arms!
Manuel: What do you want with us, anyway?
Man 1: Our leader, General Parador, instructed us to bring you to him.
Manuel: (As the man backs him against the wall) Why?
Man 1: Senorita London wanted you. I do not ask why. She is persuasive woman.
Manuel: I think I've had enough of this. (Manuel ducks away as the man lunges for him...and he falls into the wall, revealing another room. The guys scatter as "Randy Scouse Git" begins.)
(Manuel and Jose drop rocks over two of the men's heads. They shake hands, hitting their noses as they do so. ;) )
(The men chase Micky and Davy across the hall, waving guns at them.)
*Micky and Davy split off in separate directions, then rejoin behind the men, chasing THEM.* ;)
(A man trips over a root pulled across the floor. Manuel and Jose come out to the center and once again shake hands.)
(Manuel holds a mouse by it's tail, looking green. Jose takes the mouse, drops it down one man's pants, and he and his brother run off. The man squawks and squirms, waving his arms as he finally runs off down the hall.)
*Nyles starts throwing dirt at some of the men. Jack stands back, watching, rolling his eyes.*
(The men brush it off and jump on Nyles.)
(Manuel and Jose run into Davy, Micky, and several men. They all go tumbling down the steps, down, down, down. When they finally hit the floor, the boys and Martinez brothers are ok, but the men are out)
(We see four men hit the wall as Nyles pushes them all aside.)
*Jack applauds.*
(Nyles motions to Jack; time to catch up with the others.)
(Micky, Davy, and the Martinez brothers wearily help each other up as the music ends.)
Micky: *dusts himself off* Well, that was fun. :P
Jose: Whoa, when did we climb in washing machine?
Manuel: Jose, you know that's dangerous!
Jose: I have bump on my head the size of the cliffs of Aculpulco.
Manuel: Where ARE we?
Jose: (Lifts his head) What is that? It sounds like drums.
Manuel: I hear voices. I hope is isn't more soldiers.
(Nyles and Jack go to the far wall and open a door...that leads into light. They pop their heads in.)
Manuel: Well, what is in there? The ghosts of the Aztecs reviving their native rituals? :p
Jose: They aren't doing human sacrifice, are they?
Manuel: Well, what do you see? Blood? Anything nasty?
Jack: Well, no. There's people with drums in costumes and lots of torches.
Manuel: Costumes?
Jose: Dressed like Aztecs, I bet. Ghosts!
Nyles: These guys're real. Really real.
Manuel: You're kidding? (He and Jose join Nyles and Jack at the door)
Jose: Oh, my...Micky, Davy, you must see this! :
*All of the guys gather at the door, peering through. On the other side, they see people dressed in colorful native costumes over khaki uniforms. They look like Aztecs. There's also people in heavy brown cloaks. There is nothing overly nasty, just weird.*
Manuel: I don't like this.
Jose: What can we do?
Micky: Doesn't look like we can do anything yet. There's nothing going on out there so far. We'll wait and see what happens.
Manuel: Right.
(We fade out on the six young men peering anxiously through the door and move back to the central room.)
