Davy led the way up the steps leading to Micky and Lauren’s house, while Mike continued to guide Micky, who kept his head down.

Davy reached the door and tried it, finding it open. The trio stepped inside and headed for the living room. Mike help Micky sit, then said, "I’ll go find Lauren." Davy nodded, and Mike headed out of the room.

"Mick, ‘ow’re you doing?" Davy asked.

Micky shook his head. He still had his arms wrapped around himself. "Can’t believe I fell her trick..."

Mike returned with Lauren, who immediately went to Micky... but Micky backed off.

"Guys... what happened?" Lauren asked.

"Alex and Zelda showed up on the beach and decided it was play time. Zelda messed with Micky, making him think she was you. Davy had to bring him out of it," Mike explained.

Lauren turned to Micky and frowned at the wary look on his face. She turned back to Mike and Davy. "I’ll take care of him."

"We know you will, Laur," Mike said with a nod, then headed for the door.

Davy rested a hand on Micky’s shoulder. "Let ‘er ‘elp you, mate. Trust me, she’s the real deal." He gave Micky a wink, then followed Mike out.

Lauren turned back to Micky and watched him gulp. "Zelda really got to you, Mick. She made you think she was me?"

Micky nodded, then looked away, arms still wrapped around himself.

"Davy healed you the best he could, but you’re left doubtful now. You want to believe that I am really Lauren, but because of Zelda, you think you can’t be sure," Lauren said, carefully.

Micky nodded again, then watched as Lauren slowly leaned forward and gently pulled his arms from his chest. "What...?"

"Shh," Lauren said, as she grasped one of his hands in hers, then reached out with her other.

Micky pulled back, away from Lauren’s outstretched fingers. He shook his head. "No..."

She gave his hand a squeeze. "Please, Mick, I have to heal you completely. You don’t want to stay like this."

Micky slowly leaned forward again and allowed Lauren to touch his chest. She placed her hand flat over his heart. He began to feel a familiar warmth... it felt good. Then, Lauren leaned forward, slowly, and kissed him gently.

The familiar warmth washed over Micky. He reached his free hand around and rested it on Lauren’s back and deepened the kiss.

After several moments, Lauren pulled away slightly. "Mick?"

He smiled. "Thank you, babe."

Lauren threw her arms around his neck. "Thank goodness! You looked so lost!"

"It felt worse than I looked!" Micky admitted, wrapping both arms around her. "Thank you." They pulled apart, but took hold of each other’s hands. "No one could ever replace you... Lauren." He smiled.

"And no one could replace you, Micky," Lauren said, and they leaned in to kiss again.
