Everyone ready to finish this epic off?
Mike: Heck yeah!
Peter: Can we rest now?
Micky: Let’s, please!
Davy: About time, mates. ;)
*We begin in the large garage belonging to Micky and Lauren, where we see Lauren's car, the Monkeemobile, a couple of motorcycles, and Micky's "piece of junk" car he says he's fixing up, though Lauren doesn't believe him.*
(Davy and Peter are trying to help Micky. Emma and Katie sit in the MonkeeMobile, Katie pretending to drive as she did in the beginning of "Auto My Dreams." A pair of cowboy-booted feet stick out from under the MonkeeMobile.)
*Lauren cleans out her car while the twins sit on the floor and play with Lincoln Logs.*
Bert: So, how's everyone feeling after that monster story?
Emma: (Looks at Lauren) More to the point, how are YOU feeling?
Lauren: *dusts her hands off* Better. Thing is, I really don't remember much of what happened.
Emma: That's all right, sweetie. The rest of us remember more than we care to.
Bert: I'm gonna say right out that this is one of the strangest stories you've EVER done. Where did you come up with this one?
Emma: We've been wanting to do another superhero story for a long time. We really have fun doing them. We didn't really start to develop the plot until the end of the summer, though.
Peter: But...alligators? Lasers? Little mushrooms with big eyes and fish that can swallow you whole?
Lauren: Well, what do you want? We're hung up on video games and odd sci fi movies. ;)
Emma: We wanted to go back to straight action after last month's relatively quiet time traveling trip, and what's more action-packed than a video game?
Katie: Pway game! Vroom! (She honks the horn) :D
Bob: This is the longest story you've done in a while.
Emma: Since January, to be exact. (Shrugs) This is the first story we've had the time to prepare for and really get involved with in a while. We've skimped on a lot of stories this year, either from lack of time or lack of interest. We're going to try to work on more ideas that appeal to both of us from now on.
Lauren: We had a lot of ideas we wanted to use. ;)Bert: How are the kids feeling? Sheila grabbed them, too.
Peter: How are you kids feeling?
Katie: Me 'kay! Drive car!
Little Mick: We're good!
Shelly: I'm okay!
Emma: They were completely unharmed and happy when we picked them up from the Cartwright Mansion after we got home and rested a little. :)
Mike: (Gets out from under the car; he's a little greasy) Engine's fixed, at least as well as it's gonna be. Alex don't seem to have done anythin' to her.
Bert: How did Ursula end up in the MonkeeMobile?
Mike: It's probably about the only place Sheila ain't gonna try to take her OUT of.
Emma: Besides, it's different.
Peter: And we can keep a better eye on her if Sheila tries something again!
Katie: (Puts her head on the steering wheel as well as she can) Good car. Nice car.
Emma: (Smiles and pats the wheel) Yes, she is a good car, Katie.
Mike: We owe Urse one, and you girls, too. If it wasn't for you ladies, we might have wandered around in Alex's computer forever.
Peter: Or until he decided to take our souls! :o
Bert: Hey guys, did you...
Mike: Yes, Bert, we got the dune buggy and the tank back. Both should be on the Columbia lot, in their respective garages.
Emma: When Ursula sent us home, she sent all of the cars back to their owners, too, including the movie cars.
Peter: It really took a lot out of Ursula. She's resting now. Val's feeding Jordan at the Montgomery House. :)
Bert: He's really growing, isn't he, Peter?
Peter: (Sighs) Yeah. He's so big. You should see him pound away on his toy piano!
Katie: Jordan pway! :D
Peter: And Katie plays with him on her little guitar.
Katie: We Monkees! :D
Mike: (Laughs) Not yet, cowgirl. Maybe someday.
Bob: Hey, Mick, what are you up to over there? You've been awfully quiet.
Mike: Tell me you're not tinkerin' with somethin' that could blow up.
*There's a pounding noise coming from the junk car. Micky finally looks out from the front where's he's been leaning over the engine. He's in overalls and is quite dirty.*
Micky: Trying to get the engine to turn over. :P
Bert: What are you trying to do with that old heap?
Mike: I've seen nicer cars in the junkyard on the other side of town.
Micky: I'm trying to make it run. :P
Mike: Mick, you could have any car in the world you want, and you take that?
Micky: It's a challenge. *pauses* Plus, it only cost five bucks.
Mike: Trying to make us another MonkeeVehicle?
Emma: I'll bet he wants a mini-tank of his own. ;)
Katie: (Tugs on her mother) Pway twins? (Points at the twins)
Emma: Ok, if they don't mind. (Emma helps Katie out of the car and lets her run over to the twins)
Micky: I was leaning a little more towards racing... *Lauren walks by and clunks him on the head*
Mike: I don't see nuthin' wrong with that. I know a couple of races in Mexico... (Emma clunks HIM on the head)
Katie: (Goes to the twins) Me pway? :)
Shelly: Sure! :)
Little Mick: Okay! :)
Katie: (She sits down with the twins) "What are you playing?"
Little Mick: "We're playing with Lincoln Logs."
Shelly: "I'm building a log cabin."
Katie: "I'll make a jail and a sheriff's office, like Marshall Dillon's on TV."
Bob: Hey, kids, how did you like bowling?
Emma: We're all set for another game with the Abbies next week. ;)
Little Mick: Lots of fun!
Katie: Bawl! (She rolls a little plastic ball into some of Micky's car parts and knocks a few over, then laughs) All fawl down!
Emma: (Looks at Lauren) And we're gonna WIN this time, aren't we?
Lauren: We'd better.
Emma: (Looks at the twins) You know, they were awfully quiet during that game...
Katie: Huh? (She's setting up her idea of a jail ;) )
*The twins exchange looks, looking innocent.* ;)
Bob: Hey Davy, how's Daph coming? Resting today?
Mike: She's probably clearing out our refrigerator. Davy, that kid of yours does nuthin' but eat! You sure it ain't related to Mick?
Davy: Bettah NOT be related to Mick! No offense, mate.
Micky: None taken.
Davy: Daph's always 'ad a decent appetite, so yeah, she keeps eating us outta 'ouse and 'ome. :P
Bert: Ok, gang, universal question. What was your favorite part?
Mike: Motorcycle ride. Oh, and savin' Em's spirit from that oversized lizard.
Emma: That wild ride through the Columbia lot was kind of fun, even if it did get us in a LOT of trouble.
Peter: I just like being able to save people again.
Davy: Rescuing Daph.
Micky: Saving Lauren.
Lauren: I don't know...
Katie: Cars! Cars!
Emma: Katie loved seeing all those custom cars at the Columbia lot. She babbled about it for days afterwards. :)
Peter: Valerie told me about that. (Joins the twins) Wow, you guys got to see the Batmobile and Maxwell Smart's car! I'll bet that was exciting!
Katie: Lotsa cars! Ship, too!
Mike: They saw "Star Trek." We're jealous.
Bert: What happened to all those custom car owners whose souls Alex and Sheila stole?
Emma: According to Ursula, they were all sent back to their homes and their souls returned when she and the guys stopped Alex the first time, before they blew up the Core.
Bert: Speaking of the Core...guys, what HAPPENED in there?
Mike: Ursula told us to cross our four lasers with the ones that were already shootin' - we now know they were the girls' - and her own powers and just keep aimin' them at the Core, along with some mistimed electric currents. It couldn't take the pressure and blew.
Peter: We're not sure what happened after that. One minute, we're all sitting the MonkeeShip, shooting the Core. It starts to break apart, there's a bright light, and the next thing I know, Valerie's sifting me out of the rubble of the computer.
Micky: It was weird, even for me.
Emma: Valerie said she set up the computer to shoot concentrated energy - OUR energy.
Bert: Hey, what about Sheila and Alex?
Mike: (Makes a face and shuts the hood of the MonkeeMobile) Unfortuantly, as far as we know, they're both fine. Urse said she can feel Sheila. She's back to normal size; Alex got her out of that jar once he came to.
Bob: Does that mean we'll be seeing more of them?
Mike: (Makes a face) Probably.
Emma: (Grins evilly) Yes.
Peter: (Groans) Oh no.
Bert: Which brings up our next question. What do you have planned for this year's Halloween story and for the end of the year?
Emma: We might as well warn everyone right now, next month's main story is planned as a fairly gruesome Halloween tale, based after a 30s horror favorite that's been remade twice.
Peter: Gruesome? How gruesome? Tell me Micky's not going to die again!
*Micky's eyebrows raise.* :-O
Mike: I don't like the sound of this.
Emma: None of the guys are going to "die" again...but we can't make promises about the supporting cast.
Lauren: Anyone who isn't a regular is expendable.
Emma: We aren't just going to SHOW zombies and monsters and such. There's going to be some death and blood and severed limbs, though not too much, since Lauren and I aren't crazy about splatter and gore. We're going more for atmosphere. Hell, remember, we ARE on a movie set, and horror films WERE fairly popular in the early and mid 70s.
Mike: Ok, raise your hand if you want to get out of filming next month. :o
Bert: No guys, you can't get out of filming next month. We lost enough time this month as it is with the car thefts and the destruction of several key sets!
Emma: By the way, filming the movie is going to be an ongoing thing for this arc and the next one. It'll give us an excuse to do some stories in California. We're not really "going away" again until the December main story, and not at all after that.
Mike: Tell me the rest of the year is going to be less damagin'.
Emma: We're looking to time-travel in November and to do our first Thanksgiving story.
Peter: That doesn't sound too harmful! I love Thanksgiving. It'll be fun! :)
Mike: Yeah, but who here knows how to cook a turkey?
Emma: I could probably figure it out...
Peter: Valerie says she has a gig lined up for Christmas! I've always wanted to play a gig on an ocean liner!
Mike: Makes sense, since we'll be filmin' the scenes in the Bahamas by then.
Emma: (Grins at Lauren) And we're developing several interesting ideas for the beginning of the year, the winter arc.
Lauren: *nods* Yup. ;)
Emma: Speaking of next year...(once again looks at Lauren)...we're discussing making some changes in how we do the stories starting in January. Nothing's permanent at the moment, but as of next year, we may be dropping the warm-ups.
Peter: The short stories at the beginning of every set?
Lauren: Yeah.
Emma: (Nods) They're fun, but they're often filler, take up too much time, and we have a harder time coming up with ideas for them.
Mike: I heard you mention somethin' 'bout goin' bimonthly with these, too.
Emma: We're not sure about that yet. We figure we'll see how we stand in December after we finish this year's holiday stories.
Peter: Nothing's definite yet, then?
Lauren: Let’s see how doing without the warm-ups goes. If that frees up enough "personal time," then that's all we'll do.
Emma: We love doing these stories. They're a lot of fun, and they help improve our writing. They take up a lot of time, though. They're very complicated stories and often require a lot of planning. We've literally spent months preparing some of these role-play stories! The stories themselves often take two to three weeks to write, with another three days to a week to edit and post.
Peter: But I love doing the stories!
Emma: We're not giving them up entirely. We're going to do them as long as we can, or until the world ends, whichever comes first. We just have to change HOW we do them. We're getting older, and neither of us have as much time to devote to the stories as we used to.
Lauren: Right. Heck, if it ever came down to it, we'd email each other new parts to stories. As it stands now, this is mainly just to free up a little time for each of us. We love writing these stories as much as you guys love to be in them.
Emma: Besides, we have some great story ideas for the winter, and I really want to be able to work on them. I owe Lauren one idea; it was an idea for a prose story she never had the time to write. I thought we'd have more fun doing it together as a role-play, since this is one interest we DO share.
Lauren: Really looking forward to that one. ;)
Emma: I had an idea for the other story, Lauren. What if it was Micky who caused the guys to...be small? ;)
Lauren: I'd say, I like it. ;)
Micky: What?
Mike: Huh?
Emma: You'll find out this winter, guys.
Mike: (Wipes his hands) I'm gonna take Em, Katie, and the MonkeeMobile home. We have filmin' to do tomorrow, and Pete n' I are working on the new album.
Peter: That's right! I have to go home to talk to Val about that, and I want to see Jordan before he goes to bed. (Smiles) That reminds me, Val and I are holding a Halloween costume party for Chrissy and Sarah and the local kids. I'm going to be late, but Val would love it if Katie and the twins could come.
Katie: Go pawty!
*The twins chant "Party! Party!"* :D
Mike: I'm probably gonna be workin' on the album, but the cowgirl can go, if she wants.
Emma: I'll offer my impeccable services. ;)
Peter: Davy, why don't you and Micky take the kids to the party?
Davy: Sure! Whadaya say, Mick?
Micky: You can seriously ask me that, Dave? Of course!
Mike: Ok Em, Pete, Katie, ready to head out?
Katie: Aw, wanna pway! :p
Emma: I'll bring you over tomorrow to play with the twins, sweetie. You need a nap right now.
Katie: Awwww!
Peter: I'm ready.
Mike: Um, Mick, want any help before I head out?
Micky: Nah, I'm getting ready to give up for now. Thanks anyway.
Emma: Have a nice night, guys! I'll see you tomorrow, Lauren.
Mike: And Mick, we'll see you tomorrow for shootin'.
Katie: (Waves) Bye bye!
Micky and Lauren: *both wave* Bye, guys! *glare at each other; the twins giggle*
(Everyone laughs.)
Mike: The twins are back.
Peter: Hey Davy, are you going to stick around? :)
Davy: *sees Micky make a shooing motion* I guess not.
Mike: We'll drive you back too, then.
Emma: They want to be...alone.
Katie: Kissy! :D
Mike: Yup. (Grins) We'll see you guys later.
Peter: I'm glad you're driving me home, Mike, even after what happened with the contract.
(Mike's only reply as they head out the door is a grunt.)
Micky: Bye!
Lauren: *sighs* And thus the end of yet another adventure.
Micky: Yup. *turns to the camera* We wanna wish everyone out there a happy beginning of fall, so go jump in a pile of leaves! ;)
Lauren: Micky... *rolls her eyes* ;)
Micky: Okay, kiddies, c'mon, lets go grab some grub. Daddy's hungry! *picks up both twins*
*Lauren shrugs and follows them out of the garage as we fade out.*
(We open on the Rainbow Room set as "Shorty Blackwell" begins. The boys, Emma, Lauren, and the twins dance and play along, all dressed in typical early 70s garb. Peter puts a string of love beads around each of the twins' necks.)
(The twins meow like kitties, doing their best cat noises.)
(Mike makes a face and growls. Emma nudges him.)
*Onyx struts his stuff across the floor.*
(The twins chase Onyx off the set...and Micky chases after THEM.)
*Lauren watches the chase.*
(Peter pulls out a cat toy with a feather on the end and makes Onyx stand on his hind legs and "dance," much to the amusement of the twins.)
(Mike and Davy stand together. Davy pulls a moving mouse toy out of his pocket and grins mischievously. Mike nods at the floor. Davy winds up the cat toy and lets it go across the floor and off the set. Once again, Onyx runs off-camera and is followed by the twins and Micky...leaving Davy to dance and Mike to make faces in front of the camera.)
(Onyx jumps on Micky's drumset, almost knocking it over, then makes a jump for Mike's back!)
(Mike lets out a surprised roar as the cat digs it's claws into his back! Lauren gets Onyx off as Emma inspects the damage. Mike grumbles and mutters. Peter looks a bit worried.)
*Micky skirts around the drum kit... but heads straight for Mike!* :-O
(Micky runs straight into Mike and knocks him head over heels. Lauren moves aside with Onyx, barely missing the fracas. The twins think they're being funny and jump on the pile!)
(Peter and Davy exchange looks. Peter drops his bass, and he and Davy join the pile.)
*Lauren just shakes her head.* ;)
(Emma joins her. They just walk away from the camera with a contented Onyx in their arms. The camera fades out on them, a purring Onyx, and the squirming pile of Monkees and twins.)
(Cut to "Tomorrow's Gonna Be Another Day" as the end credits run over "stills" from both "productions." The final still is of the entire group from "The Party" under the words "A Raybert Production.")
