So, you're thinking, "Yeah, okay, who *are* these guys?" Well, if you live in the northeast & listen to Country music, then you most likely listen to WGNA 107.7 FM and Sean & Richie are the morning show DJs--who used to be affectionately known as the "Breakfast Flakes"... don't ask.
Anyway, you can listen to them in New York State (WGNA is out of Albany), Southern Vermont, Western Mass... & they used to have a live stream on their site, but not right now.
Okay, every year, North Adams, MA holds its annual Fall Foliage Parade and Sean & Richie were invited (& sponsored by the Hoosac Savings Bank--thanks!) to the parade & for a little meet-&-greet, DJ session from 11AM-noon on Septermber 30, 2001.
I went down in hopes of meeting them. So, I take my 10 minute walk down to Main St. & notice... they're selling their "We're With Stupid" CD consisting of parodies & whatnot they've had on their show. Ack! I realized I'd forgotten my wallet! Twenty minutes later & money in my hand, I got back to Main St. & bought my copy of "We're With Stupid". Unfortunately, they'd been giving out Hoosac Bank/Sean & Richie t-shirts at the beginning of the show (which I missed due to running back to my house to get money). I didn't get a shirt, then.
During one of the local acts (there were two: Lita Williams and A.J. Tibbs, who were excellent), I shoved my way through the crowd & MET Sean & Richie. I shook their hands & got 2 pictures with them!!! I also asked if they'd sign my program for they parade, which they did gladly.
I think I was in shock or something...
They asked someone with them to take the picture of the 3 of us & the guy asked if I was standing up (I'm 5' and Sean & Richie are about 6' & maybe 5'9", respectively) so I said "I am standing up" (Monkees fans will recognize that quote). All the while my legs are shaking because I was nervous, but amazingly enough I was able to talk.

About 10 minutes later, I spotted Steve Capirizzo(sp?) from Albany's WTEN (channel 19 out of Adams, MA)--he does the weather on the news shows & occasionally does the weather on Sean & Richie's show. So, I went over & asked if he'd sign my program, too... & he did!

I was sooooo happy, needless to say, despite not getting a t-shirt. So, I entered a little raffle they had going where you could win a t-shirt & CDs. Now, I hardly ever win anything & I thought there was no chance. I'd had a thought that I'd ask my dad--who knows some people who work at Hoosac Bank--to try & get me a t-shirt that Monday (day after the parade). With a bit of string-pulling, he did... only to come home & find out I'd been a winner in the raffle!!! So, I ended up getting the t-shirt I'd missed out on, a SIGNED copy of "We're With Stupid", A.J. Tibbs's promotional CD (signed), and Lita Williams's locally made CD.
How cool is that?!
