A Knapp
Street
Christmas
A Laverne & Shirley rendition of "'Twas The Night Before Christmas"
'Twas the night before Christmas, Knapp Street was
dim
The building was lovely and covered in trim
Laverne was on the couch and Shirl in the kitchen
They had just settled down for some quiet
conversation
Somehow or another as always they do,
They found themselves arguing, and quite loudly
too!
At that time they heard such a clatter
They jumped from their seats to see what was the
matter
When in through the door with a 'BANG!' and
"Hello!"
Came Lenny and Squiggy yelling "Help!" and "Ho
Ho!"
The girls stood with displeased looks on their
faces
As Lenny and Squiggy dragged in their suitcases
"Whatsa matter?" asked Shirley while Laverne
screamed "Git out!"
We can't cried the boys, someone's in our house!
"Who?" The girls asked, as they started to worry
The boys replied "I don't know, we were in a
hurry"
Then Squiggy added, with a slight hint of fear,
"Some jolly old fat guy an' a bunch of reindeer!"
The girls just stood with a look of disbelief
At that time, a noise began to rise from the
street
The girls grabbed the boy's hands "what's that?"
Shirley uttered
They saw the boys' smiles and stepped back with a
shudder
Lenny bites his palm, Laverne gives him a whack,
She steps up to the window and opens it a crack
"Wow" said Laverne, as she looked out of the
window
"What is it?" asked Shirley "Wait, I don't wanna
know"
"No, you guys gotta see this!"
She motioned them near
When in through the dumbwaiter, who should
appear,
"Where'd he go?" said Laverne, staring through
the glass
"He's right here!" Shirley screamed as he went
about his task
The bunch just stood there while he went to work,
Just then he saw them and stepped back with a
jerk.
As they looked him over, from his toes to his
beard,
They all soon realized, they had nothing to fear
He started to run but changed his mind,
Shirley walk up to him, then said "Carmine?"
The man, with a smile, soon made Shirley see
She had been mistaken Carmine was not he
Shirley smiled, then turned away,
Then fainted on the couch and there she laid.
"Well," Laverne said, she was thinking out loud,
"I know you're not pop, cause he's out of town.
Just then they heard another noise,
They ran to the window and heard someone's voice.
Searching for its owner, out the window they
peered
With that their visitor disappeared.
They heard someone say, though no one was in
sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good
night."
