*sighs*
It has been such a slow night. So slow, in fact, that Grayson decided to camp out on my couch. It's October and the poor baby's got a cold. He didn't want to be outside any longer than he had to so I'm keeping lines open in case he's needed.
*sighs*
Also, I'd have fallen asleep atleast two hours ago, but he's over there snoring so loud... well, it's just really loud. I'd turned off all the lights in here *hoping* I could just doze off here in front of the computer. But besides his snoring, everytime I do close my eyes...
Did I mention that we watched the first two "Friday the Thirteenth" movies? *cringes* Now, even the wind is creeping me out. I don't know why, I faced so many criminals as Batgirl that *nothing* should creep me out.
Hmm... I think I'll see what files I can get from the BatComputer. That's always fun, overriding all of Bruce's passwords. Don't even get me started on the protocols! Those are laughable.
Oooh, what's this... The Hamster Dance?! Argh! Tim's been messing around with the computer again. Wonder if I should tell Daddy Bat?
*laughs*
Oops, guess I shouldn't laugh out loud. Heh, didn't even budge the Sleeping Wonder over on the couch. I can't figure out how he can breathe, though. He's got his face buried between the back of the couch and the pillow... but I know he can because I can still hear his snoring! I swear I'm going to pick up that pillow and...
What was that? Thought I heard something. I think I'll go check the terrace...
*deet*
Oh sure, *now* I'm being paged. "Oracle here."
"Anything?"
"Nothing, sorry, Batman. Anything else I can do for you?"
Hmm... answered with silence... and there goes the connection. Nope, guess my night's over. Finally, I can get ready for bed and...
There's that noise again. I wonder if Bats contacted me while he was on the terrace.
Oh-kay, there's no one out here. Fine, I'll just go back inside and...
*screams*
"A rubber bat!?"
Suddenly, that snoring is replaced with laughter. "You should've seen the look on your face!"
"I'm going to get you for this, Short Pants," I tell him.
He stops laughing. "But I didn't do it."
"Sure..." I say.
"Seriously! I woke up when you screamed, then I saw the bat in your hand, I figured Tim must have done it." That may be Grayson's *story*, but just to be sure...
Upon connecting with Tim, I'm greeted by a yawn. "This better be good."
"You... where are you?" I ask.
Tim yawns again. "Brentwood. I couldn't get out tonight. Too many kids out."
"So, you didn't leave the bat hanging on my terrace?" I ask.
Tim's in mid-yawn and starts laughing. "Wish I had!" He pauses. "Gotta go, I think Alfred's coming."
I roll my eyes as he cuts the connection. I turn back to Grayson. "So, who did this?"
"I don't know... what was that?" he asks.
That sound again. I go back out on the terrace, this time he follows me out.
"This is really starting to annoy me," I say.
"Weird," he comments.
Finding nothing, we go back inside. Then I hear it again, followed by the shadow of a bat in the moonlight.
"Bruce?" Grayson asks, quietly. He turns as I do.
There standing in front of us.... is Superman in Batman's costume sans cowl.
"So, what do you think?"
