Everybody ready to finish this story and celebrate spring? ;) :)
Mike: (Nods, a bit heavily) Yeah...
Peter: I am! :)
Micky: Yeah!
Davy: I'm ready, too, mates.
(We open in the kitchen in the Manor. Sunshine pours through the windows. The twins, Katie, Emma, Lauren, and three of the four Monkees sit at the table in the middle, surrounded by mugs, crayons, eggs, and egg cartons. The fourth Monkee lays on a wooden bench under a window, napping, his beloved aviator sunglasses over his eyes. ;) :D)
Bob: Hi, guys. Getting ready for Easter? :)
Katie: We make pwetty eggies! :D (Holds up a very, very red egg)
Emma: Katie, I told you that one was left in the cup too long. :p
Peter: (Puts his hand over his eyes, laughing) It’s blinding me! ;)
Micky: I think it's quite festive. ;) :D
Lauren: You would, Mick. ;)
Bert: Hey, Mike, what's with the cat-nap? ;)
Mike: (Pulls the sunglasses up briefly) I feel lousy. (Puts them back down and returns to snoozing)
Emma: He's still shaking off the effects of whatever Alex gave him AND "The Goo." :p
Micky: I have to get back to the drawing board for a "Goo" antidote. :P
Lauren: He came close, but it just ended up being good for breaking up congestion. ;)
Mike: I DO owe you for gettin' my sense of smell back though, Mick. I wish they'd leave my god-damn nose ALONE. Wolves have other senses. :p
Micky: No problem, Mike. :)
(Emma dips one half of an egg in blue dye. Peter draws on his with an orange crayon.)
*The twins put multicolor eggs on the rack to dry.* :D
(Katie drops an egg in green dye, splashing it everywhere. She giggles. ;)))
Emma: Katie, be careful. You're making a mess, and you don't want to crack your eggie! (She wipes up the table with one of the many paper towels scattered about, then takes the egg out of the blue dye and leaves the half-dyed egg on a carton. She then draws on another egg with a white crayon. :) )
Bert: So, where did this story come from, and how long has it been around?
Emma: I love gothic mysteries, set in ancient old houses and castles, with ghosts and tragic love stories and spooky noises and constant rain and such. ;)
Lauren: Not to mention it was somewhat similar to the movie "Clue." ;)
Peter: TOO similar. Didn't we do something like this last month? :p (He pulls his egg out of the orange dye and puts it on a carton)
Micky: But it was fun. ;)
Emma: Not with ghosts...or a centuries-old murder. I thought we could go for some historic romance after two gritty 70s stories in a row. ;)
Bert: Hey, Dave, how does it feel to be married? ;)
Davy: It's great! ;) :x
Bob: Took you long enough. What are you and Daph going to do now?
Davy: We're staying with Mike, Emma, and Katie until we either find our own place or they figure out somewhere to put us, whichever comes first. ;)
Mike: How long you girls been wantin' to put us through the ringer on this one? :p
Emma: (Rolls her eyes) Actually, I came up with this idea only a few months ago, probably right before I moved. I'm still busy in real-life, but I'm hoping things will settle down once we get away from the spring holidays. :)
Lauren: Yeah, we weren't percolating this one nearly as long as some past stories. ;)
Emma: (As she picks up the now-dry half-done egg and dips the blank half in red; Peter helps fish Katie's very bright green egg out of the dye and onto the carton) And I'm afraid it looks it, too. There's plot holes and unused characters all over the place. :p
Micky: You can say the same about "Clue," but look at how it came out. ;)
Mike: (Glasses go up again) Which reminds me, could everyone else stay in another hotel the next time we're on tour? This story was so cramped, I felt like I was trippin' over characters. :p
Emma: (Puts her half-and-half egg in a carton and shrugs) I thought it would be a good idea to bring everyone along (sighs), but I've come to realize it was not one of my better ideas. This story really WAS too crowded. :p
Lauren: We'll do a story about a party so we can legitimately use all our characters. ;)
Micky: We could use a good party. :D ;)
Peter: (Nods) Speaking of all our characters, the Abbies are rehearsing, Daph and Tilly are talking to Mary, Lance, and Grandfathah, Valerie and Jack are at the arena working out the concert logistics, and I don't know WHERE Nyles and the Martians went.
Emma: And I'm sure we're better off not knowing. ;)
Davy: But I'm sure they're 'aving fun. ;)
Bert: Is that treasure really worth a fortune?
Emma: They're still getting the gold and jewels appraised, but we're assuming it could bring in upwards to 500,000 to a million. The weapons and armor aren't worth quite as much, but they and the tapestry map will be donated to the Historical Society, partially to thank that nice lady for helping us find the map. :)
Peter: Mary and Lance are going to use their share of the money to buy a nice home for Mary's dad and for an extensive restoration of Kibbie Manor. The rest will go to the villagers for repairs on the village buildings, and for local charities. :)
Bob: What happened to the ghosts?
Peter: (Beams) As far as anyone knows, they all went to their deserved rewards. :)
Katie: (Drops her egg in purple...AFTER grabbing it out of pink) Pwetty egg! :D
Emma: Katie, let it dry first. You'll get the colors mixed. :p
*The twins are drawing all over their eggs with crayons, making a jumbled mess of colors.* ;)
Mike: (Mutters) Yeah, I hope the ghosts went to ALL their deserved rewards. I know that damn Sir Donald ghost had to be mouthin' off on me when Shelia and Alex had me in the wine cellar. Shelia kept talkin' to the air. :p
Bert: How come Peter, Shelia, and Alex were the only ones who could see the ghosts?
Peter: I think Shelia said it was part of hers and Alex's powers.
Mike: They HAVE to see the dead. It's kinda their job, since they're in charge of (points downwards) down there. ;)
Micky: Since they ARE dead, so to speak.
Bob: What about Peter?
Peter: I saw the ghosts' auras. :)
Emma: (Pulls Katie's egg out - it's sort of brownish-purple) Katie, be more careful when you mix colors.
Katie: Ew. :p
Mike: Em, leave Katie alone. They don't look so horrible to me. ;)
Micky: *nods at the egg* Looks pretty groovy to me. ;)
Peter: I hope Violetta and Paul got to stay together. Paul missed her so badly. He adored her, and she adored him...but he said his uncle practically bought poor Violetta, like she was just a plot of land. He invaded her land, stole her family's money, then forced her parents to sell her hand in marriage to get even a little money back. :p :(
Emma: If nothing else, I hope the diary, which is also going to the Historical Society, clears up some of those nasty rumors about Paul. On one hand, he WAS a thief...but his uncle wasn't any better.
Peter: (Nods) As much as I liked Paul, neither he nor is uncle really went about the right way of expanding their territory. Paul meant well...but his actions were interpreted differently by history. :p :(
Bert: You really liked Paul, didn't you, Peter?
Peter: (Nods) He was a very nice guy, for a ghost. He and I shared a lot of the same philsophies. He didn't like all of the violence going on in his century any more than I like the violence going on in this one.
Mike: Sir Donald was a jerk...and a bit overly sensitive. I said a few unkind things, and he would jumped on me if he'd been livin'. ;) :p
Peter: You didn't say things like that to someone unless you really wanted to get on their bad side in those days, Michael.
Mike: I DID wanna get on his bad side. ;)
Micky: Of course you did, Mike. ;)
Bob: So, what's on the menu for the first role-play of the summer arc?
Emma: (Sighs as she carefully dips the bottom part of an egg in red) Actually, we're not too sure yet. We still only have ideas right now. We're going to have to do some intensive brainstorming for the rest of this month. We're thinking we may return to Shelia and Alex's ghost town for next month. We didn't really explore the place too thoroughly or see the outside when we were there during "Return of the Clone."
Lauren: *nods* Works for me.
Mike: You guys really WANNA explore the place? /:)
Peter: (Whimpers) That's the LAST place I wanna go! :(
Emma: That's the idea. ;)
(Emma pulls the egg out of the red, then puts it on a carton as Katie scribbles on an egg in crayon.)
Micky: I don't know. It couldn't be THAT bad. ;)
Mike: (Groans) Mick, how could you say that? Remember what happened the LAST time we all ended up there? Remember what Alex did to Lauren, Em, Daph, and me? :p
Peter: The twins ended up rescuing you!
Micky: I know that. I meant the ghost town itself! I've been wanting to look at that place since then. I like ghost towns. ;)
Mike: You just wanna play with all the neat toys Alex has stashed under and around the ghost town. ;) :p
Micky: Well, yeah, that too. ;)
Bob: How did you kids feel about the latest story? Did you like being in the wedding? :)
Katie: Fun! :D
(She drops her crayon-ed egg in orange. Emma dips her egg in yellow.)
Little Mick: I liked it! :)
Shelly: Me too!
Bert: You looked great, too. The ceremony went very well.
Lauren: Without a hitch, thankfully.
Davy: Which I'm very 'appy about. ;)
Mike: Yeah, thank god. No unwanted guests, crazed Davy fans or...(coughs)...other unwanted types. :p
Bob: Did you like helping to find the treasure? I hope it wasn't too scary!
Katie: No scary! Twes're hunt fun!
Little Mick: Loved treasure hunt! Like jewels.
Mike: You would, kid. Like father, like son. ;)
Peter: I'm glad that treasure will finally be used for what Paul wanted it to be used for in the first place - to help the villagers. :)
Bert: So, what's on tap for the rest of this vacation?
Emma: We're going to spend Easter with Davy's grandfather, then come back here for the last two concerts and head home at the end of the week. :)
Katie: Eas'er bunny comin'! :D
Little Mick: Want chocolate! :D
Peter: That's right, Katie! He'll leave you candy, and maybe a nice stuffed animal or toy. :)
Katie: Like Eas'er! :D
Peter: Me too. It's such a pretty, colorful holiday. It's really about renewal, after all, the beginning and end of things. :)
Emma: I'm just glad it finally stopped raining. Lauren: I'm just glad it's finally getting warmer.
Peter: The sun came out at just the right time. That rainbow was the most beautiful I'd ever seen. (Smiles) I hope Paul, Percy, and Violetta are happy now, wherever they are. Paul can finally be with Violetta and her son, with no worries of her being married or his being her nephew or what Sir Donald will do to them if he finds out, and Percy can protect them. :)
Emma: Incidentally, the rainbow finale is based after a real rainbow I saw the day we wrote that story. I hadn't seen a rainbow in a long time, and I thought it made a perfect finish to a story about beginnings and endings. :)
Peter: (Takes his last egg out of the green as Emma dips the bottom of her egg in blue) We're almost finished with the egg. When they're done, we'll hide them, and you'll have to find them. ;) :)
Katie: Yay! :D
Shelly: Egg hunt! :)
Emma: We're going to do a small Easter egg hunt in the garden behind the manor for the kids before the guys have to get ready for the concert tonight. We thought it would amuse the kids, since they had to miss the local Easter egg hunt in Malibu Beach this year. :)
Katie: Papa too?
Emma: (We hear a snore from the bench under the window) Papa is taking a nappie, Katie. We'll show him our eggs when he wakes up. He had a tough time in this story. ;)
Katie: Papa night-night! :D
Peter: We'll help you find the eggs, though, Katie. :)
Emma: Which reminds me, we'd better go if we want to get ready for the concert and hide the eggs. (Looks at the camera) Happy belated Easter to everyone who celebrates it.
Peter: We hope you get to celebrate this time of renewal with the people YOU love this year.
Mike: (Mutters) Have great spring holidays...(yawns)...folks... (Returns to snoring) ;) I-)
Micky: *waves to the camera* Have a great holiday! :D
(Fade out on everyone cleaning up the egg mess and finishing the last of the mess. Fade in on the garden - actually the outdoor garden set from "Monkees In Wonderland," without the talking flowers and gnomes - for the egg hunt as "Cuddly Toy" begins. The twins and Katie each have a basket on one arm...and an adult on the other. Katie holds her mama's hand, grinning. :D)
*Little Mick and Micky take turns dragging each other.*
*Lauren holds Shelly's hand. Shelly bounces happily in excitement.* :)
(Peter blows a whistle, and he and Davy get out of the way while the kids and their parents go off to find eggs. ;) :D)
(Katie and Emma find red and green eggs in a flower bed...but Emma quickly drags her daughter away before she can inspect a round, yellow-and-black thing that buzzes. :o )
*Little Mick drags Micky to some bushes where he finds blue eggs. Micky drags the little boy over to the fence where he finds some yellow eggs.*
(Katie points to a tree, where she sees blue eggs, but Emma explains that those eggs are too small to be ones they dyed...and are up too high. :) ;) )
(Peter and Davy sit in the gazebo, playing the tambourine and piano and watching the surrounding antics of the egg hunters. :) ;) )
*Shelly crawls under a bush to get some purple eggs. Lauren spots some pink eggs behind the bushes. She tries to reach over, but can't reach. Lauren then ends up kneeling on the ground to reach through the bushes.*
(Katie tries to reach some blue eggs in a big flowering bush, but she can't reach. Emma holds her up so she can get them.)
(Katie tries to pick up something green, but Emma shakes her finger at the girl. That's a rock, not an egg! She takes it from Katie...and SHE almost knocks herself over! Katie giggles at her silly mama.)
(Peter and Davy goof off in the gazebo. Davy pretends to hit Peter over the head with his tambourine; Peter yells in Davy's ear.)
*Little Mick piles up his collected eggs into a pyramid on the grass. Micky does the same thing.*
(Katie and Emma line their eggs up in neat rows by color and design. :) )
*Lauren organizes the eggs, while Shelly naps on the grass.* :)
(Peter and Davy join the others, carrying a big plastic bag. They count the eggs, and finally give each child a small stuffed animal. Katie gets a chick, Shelly gets a lamb, and Micky gets a bunny.)
(Katie grins and cuddles her new stuffed chick. She gives Peter a kiss on the cheek, then her mama. :) )
*Shelly makes her lamb dance on the grass.* :)
*Little Mick makes his bunny hop all over Micky, who's lying on the grass.* ;)
(Everyone laughs at Little Micky's antics. The adults and kids move into a group hug as we fade out on the happy group. :D :)) )
(Fade in on the end credits. Production stills from both stories play under "Come On In." The credits end with "A Raybert Production" over the still of the entire group from "Kids and Devils.")
