(We open in mist, the same swirling, dark mist that has permeated many of the other dimensions. A black light subsides and reveals the rest of the group.)

Peter: (Whimpers; looks around) This place is...awful. It's...(gulp)...ALIVE. It's like the mist knows we're here and wants to eat us.

Micky: *waves in front of his face* I just wish the mist would keep its breath to itself.

Valerie: Well, this is just great. I can handle man-eating plants, tigers, and lizards...but man-eating AIR? That's bizarre, even for the devils.

Emma: Hey! Leggo! (She has to brush the mist off of her)

Valerie: Cut it OUT! (She chops through the "mist"; it lets go of Emma's arm, but then starts congealing again)

Peter: Hey! (He pulls off some of the mist with an arrow)

*Lauren beats the mist off with her staff.*

Valerie: Everyone, if you can reach your weapons, draw them. We're going to have to hack our way through. Daphne, guard Emma and keep the mist off of her.

Emma: (Brushes the mist gently away from her stomach) I hope this stuff doesn't hurt my kid!

Daphne: *puts her arms up* Okay mist, you'd better back off, or else!

(The group makes their way through the mist, finally seeing a small group huddled around a thick wall of mist. Someone holds a light.)

Peter: (Points as he slashes another curl of mist) Look, guys! Up ahead!

Valerie: Be on your guard. I can give you three guesses who brought us here...and why, so have your weapons at the ready and watch the Imagination Power. You know they love mind games.

(They finally make their way through the mist to the light...which it turns out Alex is holding. Sheila fondles Mike's chin; it's practically all that remains of him. Most of his body has vanished into the mist. Davy stands next to Sheila, smirking.)

Peter: MICHAEL! What did you do to him?

Sheila: (Makes a face) I didn't do it. Talk to the mist. (Leans over Alex) You WILL be able to free him, right? I'm feeling...urges.

Valerie: You're through, Sheila. Let him go.

(Mike looks up, squinting through the mist. His eyes widen when he sees Emma.)

Sheila: (Makes a bunny appear; she strokes it) Oh, look at our little bunny Charlotte. She learned a lesson about listening to Bards and Aristocrats, didn't she? (The bunny wiggles its pink nose.)

Emma: What's going on? (Pushes more mist off her) Damn this stuff...

Sheila: Oh, we just want all of you to stay here with us. (Smirks at Davy) Right, your Lordship? (Mike shakes what he can of his head; the mist is now up to his chin and around his hair.)

Davy: That's right.

(Sheila makes Mike's sword appear and hands it to Davy.)

Sheila: This is yours now, your Lordship. It's far more worthy of you than of a knight below your station. A man of your title should be a leader, not a mere knight.

(Mike tries to shake his head; the mist is circling his mouth and forehead now.)

Daphne: Davy!

Emma: Who...I know him... (Gets closer to Mike) You....you poor man, you're so familiar...

(Mike nods and shakes his head as the mist closes in on his eyes and nose. He is almost completely covered in mist by now.)

*Davy goes right up to Mike...but when he gets there, Daphne spins him around and clocks him good in the jaw. Davy crumples to the ground, out cold. Daphne blows on her knuckles, grinning.*

Valerie: Nice work, Daph!

Lauren: Good shot! ;)

Daphne: Thank you. He deserved it!

Sheila: Damn you, Huntress! I won't let you take him this time! (She makes a spear appear as "Tapioca Tundra" begins. She hands Alex the bunny as she and Daphne duel.)

(Peter, Valerie, and Lauren go about freeing Mike as best they can and keep the mist off themselves. Emma helps with her bare hands.)

(Peter picks up the scared bunny and whispers a few words into her ears. There's a blue light around her, and soon, Charlotte is standing next to him. He explains what's going on and gives her an arrow to help free Mike and keep the mist off.)

*Micky challenges Alex to a duel. They duel all over the place, even occasionally getting completely hidden by the mist.*

(Every time they manage to get the mist away from Mike, it keeps reattaching itself, making things slow going. Peter awkwardly picks up Mike's sword and uses it to hack away at the mist. He's rather clumsy with the large blade and accidentally smacks the back of someone in the mist with the dull side.)

(Daphne finally manages to knock away Sheila's spear, but it's a hollow victory. They're both so covered in mist, they can barely move.)

*Micky turns and asks Peter to watch where he's going. Alex attempts to use the distraction, but Micky manages to dodge in time. Micky leaps at Alex and they roll away, completely hidden by the mist.*

(They finally get the mist away from Mike long enough that he can get away from it, practically falling into Emma's arms. He's pale, shaking, and soaking wet, but neither he nor Emma seem to notice as he kisses her deeply and a blue light surrounds both.)

Sheila: (As the music ends) We'd better get out of here. This damn mist seems determined to devour all of us.

Valerie: Can't you control it?

*Lauren swats the mist away from her.*

Sheila: How? I didn't create it, and I know Alex didn't, either.

Mike: You mean...

Sheila: This was already here when we found the building.

Daphne: *holding onto Davy* Oh, that's not good.

Lauren: *looks around* Umm...

Mike: (Picks up his sword and aims it straight at Sheila) Look Sheila, we'll make this fast, because we're running out of time in this part. Free all of the slaves in this buildin' and return their souls. Charlotte's, too. (Looks around) And where the hell is Mick and Alex?

Lauren: My question exactly!

*A curly-haired figure appears from the mist, still mostly hidden in it, dragging the other behind them.*

Micky: *drops Alex on the ground and grins at Lauren* What's wrong, babe? You look like you've seen a ghost.

*Lauren grins and hugs him.*

Sheila: (Slaps the mist away) Alex, let's free the souls and get outta here. This mist is ridiculous!

Mike: What about us?

Sheila: You can find your own way out.

*Alex is still trying to stand.*

Sheila: Let's go. (Narrows her eyes) Until next time, Guardians! (There's a black light around her and Alex, and they vanish)

Charlotte: But what about us?

Mike: Everyone, we don't have time for chit-chat, so let's just concentrate and see where we end up. As long as we're away from this damn mist (swats some away from him), I don't care where we land!

(There's blue lights in various shades around the group. When they subside, they find themselves in a fairly dark, nondescript room with a large, noisy machine in it.)

Mike: (Looks around) Whew! No mist.

Peter: Where are we?

Micky: Oh...oh...I'm in Heaven! I'm in Heaven! Charlotte: The generator room! This generator provides all of the power for the whole hotel complex!

Lauren: Oh-kay...

Mike: Provides all the power, huh? (Looks at Mick) I wonder...maybe you n' me could figure out a way to rig these generators to blow things up.

Peter: Not while we're in the hotel!

Micky: We can rig it to hold off until we get out of here.

Mike: Not the hotel. The mist. All those dimensions. We need to get rid of those alternate dimensions I heard the demons mention back in Mist-Land. Then someone will actually be able to use this place without disappearing in it.

Emma: (Nods at a shelf behind them) Here's the tools.

Mike: (Nods) Good. Shall we get goin', Mick?

Micky: *rubs his hands together greedily* Let’s!

(Cut to the lobby. Everyone, now dressed in their regular clothes, including Charlotte, drag out their luggage as fast as they can. Peter carries Davy, who is still out.)

Peter: I put him to sleep. He needs it. We'll imagine his stuff and mine in the van.

Nightman: (Narrows his eyes) You're not checking out, are you?

Mike: (Smirks) Matter of fact, we are.

Micky: As quickly as we can, too.

Nightman: You can checkout any time you like, pal (growl as fangs show) but you can never leave, on orders of Milady and Master!

Micky: You wanna make a bet, (hiss) PAL?

Nightman: (Higher growl) Here's my bet, boy! (The "nightman" suddenly transforms into a demon! Everyone jumps back, but Mike just grabs his sword and ducks around the angrily, howling beast. He finally stabs his sword into the former "nightman"...though we don't see blood. As he does, the mirrored walls begin to shake and crack.)

Emma: Um, I think this would be a good time to leave.

(Peter turns green at the dead demon and turns away.)

Micky: Exit stage right!

Valerie: Everybody out, and NOW! (They hurry out of the Hotel California and to the van near the entrance. They load up the van, jump in, dump Davy in next to Daphne, and roar out of the parking lot, just making it in time to witness a spectacular light show as light beams and thick mist emerge from every crack and crevice of the building. The building shakes and rumbles, but does not fall. When it subsides, we see the Hotel California in the first rays of the morning sun, looking as beautiful and placid as could be...but still oddly sinister in the shadows of the morning as we fade out.)
