(We open with a large shot of your basic department store interior. Shelves are filled with fashionable, affordable clothes; semi-precious jewelry and watches are displayed behind counters. Emma walks in, followed by Lauren and the boys.)

Emma: Come on, guys! We have a lot of stuff we need to get for the house. I need pots and baking tools, and everyone needs clothes, and a lot of the linens need to be replaced.

Lauren: Not to mention some new clothes for some of us. *eyes Micky*

Mike: (As he follows Emma) I need new strings for Black Beauty.

Micky: What's that look for?

Peter: My bear lost an eye!

Emma: I told you I'd fix him, Peter. I've been fixing my stuffed animals for years.

Lauren: Those pants. Mick, how did you get out of the house in those, anyway?

Mike: We didn't have enough time for him to go back and change.

Micky: There's nothing wrong with these pants!

Mike: Micky, I thought you'd given up the circus.

Micky: Ha ha ha.

Emma: Ok, guys. Speaking of Micky's pants, we'll hit the men's clothing department first.

("All the King's Horses" begins as the Monkees spread out. Emma grins as Mike checks out lines of tight pants. She SOOO wants to see him in those...)

(Peter pulls out two paisley shirts and asks Micky to help choose between them as Davy wanders amid the coats.)

*Micky points at one, but then the other. He goes back to the first one...then Lauren pulls him away to go look at pants.*

(Peter sighs and puts one back. He holds up a high-necked orange tunic and inspects it, then looks at one of the paisley tunics again...)

*Micky cuts through the racks, headed for cut-off shorts, dragging Lauren after him. He grabs several pairs, then runs into the changing room. Lauren flops down in a chair near the door, shaking her head.*

(Mike admires suits. Emma admires him admiring suits.)

*Davy checks himself out of a long coat in a full length mirror.*

(Peter tries on a pair of fringed boots. He grins as he stomps around in them.)

*Micky comes out and asks Lauren how she likes the shorts. He nods, realizing that she's staring at his legs. He smirks triumphantly and heads back to the changing room.*

(Mike and Emma argue over the merits of suits and ties.)

(Peter peers at rows of men's socks. He picks up two packs...and tries to mis-match them. They should be with whatever color they want to be with!)

(Peter passes by Emma and Mike in the book section. Each has their nose in a book. Emma reads "The Prisoner of Zenda"; Mike reads an automotive guide.)

*Davy looks over boots and shoes, trying to decide what goes best with his new coat.*

(Emma and Mike have made their way into the women's clothing section. Emma shows off a series of 60s mini dresses for Mike. She thinks he genuinely appreciates the dresses...but he's really just staring at her trim legs.)

*Micky and Lauren, the former now wearing a new pair of shorts, check out the small appliances.*

(Peter wanders into the arts and crafts section. He finds a bag of plastic googly eyes that are just the right size for Mr. Bear!)

(Emma, now holding several parcels, drags Mike over to the kitchen section, where they run into Micky and Lauren. Emma admires the pots, pans, and cooking utensils.)

*Micky carries a new blender under one arm. He and Lauren are checking out griddles.*

(Emma carries a new toaster and several baking pans. She drags Mike over to the linen section. They need new blankets - the boys' are so threadbare!)

(Emma and Mike sit on a bed covered with a sensible, country-esque quilt. Just like the ones Emma's mother makes!)

(Peter flops down on a tye-dyed comforter covering a huge round bed.)

*Davy runs his hands over a velvet maroon comforter, appreciating the texture.*

*Lauren and Micky run in, Micky chasing Lauren. He catches her, flopping both of them onto one of the beds! Lauren tries to scramble away, but Micky holds onto her.*

(Peter joins them. Hey, that looks like fun! He makes a flying leap onto the bed!)

(Mike and Emma make their way over. Mike makes a face...but Emma grins, hands him her packages, and scrambles onto the bed. She's a tad big for jumping.)

(Peter bounces on the bed while still sitting. Wow, what a soft bed!)

*Micky tickles Lauren.*

(Mike rolls his eyes and points out the people staring at them.)

*Micky pauses a moment, then shrugs and pulls Lauren back, who'd been trying to crawl away.*

(Emma laughs and grabs Mike's hand. Come on! Don't be so grouchy. Join the fun!)

(Mike tries to pull away as Davy joins them.)

*Davy shrugs and jumps on as well.*

Emma: (As the music ends) Everyone help me get Mike on the bed!

Mike: Darlin', this is embarrassin'...

Davy: Gladly!

Micky: Sure!

Emma: Ok, everyone grab his hands...

Mike: (Starts moving away) Guys...

(Mike finds himself flying onto the bed face-first as the others all grab his hands and pull him in the middle of the bed!)

*...And Micky climbs over to sit on him to keep him in place. Micky raises his arms triumphantly!*

Mike: God...guys...

Emma: (Laughs) Well, if you had joined us in the first place, we wouldn't need to do this!

Mike: Mick, do you know how heavy you're gettin'?

Micky: *grinning* No, how heavy am I?

Mike: GET OFFA ME!

Peter: (Looks up...and frowns) Uh-oh. Guys... (He points to the store manager who stands next to the bed, staring at them pointedly)

Emma: Uh, right. We were just going to the electronics section. (She jumps off the bed; Peter follows)

Micky: *gulps* Oh crap. *rolls off of Mike's back and slides off the bed; lands standing next to Lauren*

Mike: Man...somebody help me... (Davy and Peter help him roll off the bed; he rubs his back) Sorry about that, sir. We just got carried away.

Emma: Uh, yeah. I think we'd better go. (They hurry off, leaving the man to grumble about ill-behaved kids as he fixes the bedclothes.)

(Cut to the electronics section. It's a mass of bleeping, blooping TVs, radios, cameras, record players, 8-track players, brand-new cassette players, and rows and rows of records.)

Mike: Now this is more my speed.

Micky: I am in HEAVEN!

Emma: We need to replace our record player. It's starting to get worn, and we don't need to scratch our records.

Lauren: *nods approval* I'm sure we can find something we'll all like here.

(Peter's already riffling through records.)

Mike: I wish their music section was bigger. They don't have the selection that Mr. J's store in town does...

Micky: *snorts* NO ONE does.

Emma: (Indicates a boxy brown record player in the record section) What do you guys think of this one?

Mike: Not a bad price for the brand.

Micky: *glances it over* I kinda like this one. I saw it in one of my catalogs...

Emma: I think we can all afford it, if we pool our resources.

Peter: I like it! It can play 78s and 45s in addition to 33s!

Lauren: We have to get this one!

Mike: Yeah. I miss playin' my 78s.

Emma: It's settled, then. We'll see if we can find this one on the shelf.

Mike: (Looks at his watch) We need to get going. We have a gig soon.

(Peter walks over, tottering with a high stack of records.)

Mike: Geez Pete, is that all?

Peter: No, it's just the first stack!

*Micky whoops with glee!*

Peter: Come on, Micky! Help me with them!

Micky: Right! Comin'! *runs over to help Peter carry the records*

Mike: Dave, let's get the record player.

Emma: (Looks at Lauren) We'll handle everything else.

(We fade out as the camera gives us a wide angle of the group gathering their items for purchase.)
