Ok, everyone ready for a souvenir shopping trip and a final dinner? :)

Mike: Shoppin'?

Peter: I'm ready.

Micky: You bet.

Davy: I am.

(We open in what looks like a pedestrian shopping mall in a series of lacy Victorian buildings. The "mall" consists of three blocks of gift shops and restaurants, with concrete walkways between them, broken up by streets. Our group strolls onto the mall as the stores open in the late morning.)

Emma: (Sighs) Reminds me of what they're doing in Cape May now.

Mike: Do we have to be here? Can't we just go bikin' again or back to the beach or somethin'?

Peter: Michael, everyone should have at least one souvenir of their vacations.

Micky: Maybe we'll find you a shot glass or something.

Mike: I'd rather find a bar.

Emma: I'm sure there's plenty of those, too. (Sighs) But I'd rather you stayed sober. We have our last dinner together before we go back to California tonight.

Mike: I'd rather do this drunk.

Peter: Michael, we'll be fine. (Points to a small shop that says "Dellas' Five and Ten.") Why don't we try them first? They look like they have more things than just T-shirts.

Emma: (Grins) I think they have a lunch counter! Maybe we can get a morning treat.

Lauren: I'm all for that.

(They walk into the building. It appears to be a smaller version of the Woolworth's set, with aisles of basic department store items mixed with aisles of beach gift-shop finds like lamps made of shells and T-shirts with the name of the resort on them. There is a small lunch counter. Two people are already serving a steady stream of fried eggs, muffins, hash browns, toast, coffee, and orange juice.)

Mike: Don't buy out the whole counter at once, Mick.

Micky: *Sighs* I won't, I won't.

Valerie: (She takes a wide-brimmed hat with a sash that ties it around her head) How do I look?

Emma: Very nice.

Mike: (Makes a face at the racks of shells) If I wanted this stuff, I could go to the beach and collect it myself for free.

Peter: (Holds out a necklace made of shiny rocks to Micky) Look at these! They must be made from the crystal from the beach!

Micky: *Grins* Groovy!

Valerie: (Holds up a tiny t-shirt with the label "Baby's First Trip" on it over a shell) Oh honey, wouldn't this be so cute for Austin?

Peter: (Grins) I think he'd look adorable.

Valerie: (Holds up another one in pale blue that just says "Coconut Island") Or this one...

Emma: It's a shame Robbie's too big for these now. They are cute.

Peter: Hey Micky, did you want to bring anything back for the twins? (He holds up a reed instrument that seems to be made of bamboo) I'm going to bring this back for Jordan. He loves instruments. There's baby rattles for Austin in the baby aisle.

Mike: I have no idea what to bring Katie back. I guess I'll get her a t-shirt.

Micky: *Shuffles through items on the shelves* Hmm...

Peter: Maybe a card set with pictures from the island?

Mike: (Grins and pulls a calender off the shelf) I like this... (shows the guys the calender; it's filled with local women in bikinis) I think I'll keep it in the office room at the Club Caprice.

Peter: (Blushes) Just don't let the girls see it.

Mike: What, you don't think I value my life?

Peter: (Holds out a Hawaiian-print shirt) I like this one. Looks like what Al the Caterer usually wears.

Micky: *Leans over to look; grins, giving a thumbs-up* I like it, Pete!

Emma: (She pulls Mike over to racks of postcards) I like to look at these, even when I don't intend to send them. Some of the pictures are really interesting.

Mike: (Looks at the other side) Wonder if they have any more of those bikini girls?

Emma: Mike!

*From across the store, there's a sudden exclamation of "Dude, I gotta have this!"*

Mike: (Laughs) Someone found somethin' good.

*The two young men stand over a rack, the fair-skinned man holding out a chain with a pineapple pendant hanging from it. The darker-skinned man looks at the price and shakes his head.*

Fair-skinned man: *Whines* But Guuuuuuus...

Peter: Wow! I like that! (He joins them and looks at the pendants) Oooh, I like this one with the sun on it!

Valerie: Aren't they a bit...much?

Gus: Shawn, don't you DARE throw a tantrum in here!

Shawn: *puts the pendant back; grumbles* I'll throw a tantrum when I wanna throw a tantrum...

Peter: I'll get mine! I like it! (He takes the sun pendant off the shelf)

Valerie: (Sighs) Peter...

Peter: Valerie, you're not my keeper. I have my own money now.

Gus: See what you started, Shawn? *grabs a Hawaiian shirt from a rack; it has pineapples on it* Get the shirt instead.

Peter: I want one of these, too!

Valerie: (She pulls an embroidered blouse out of the rack instead) I like this one. Looks like it was locally-made.

Shawn: *Looks at the shirt with some trepidation* But DAD wears these! *pauses* It DOES have pineapples, though... *lets Gus lead him toward the register*

(Valerie lets Peter go through the racks and heads to the lunch counter. Lauren's already there, wolfing down a muffin the size of a brick.)

Valerie: Hi, Lauren. Enjoying yourself?

*Lauren nods, her mouth full.*

Valerie: (Sighs) Maybe we'd better head out as soon as you're done. I'm afraid Peter and Micky may buy half the store.

Peter: (Appears with a bag) Did someone say my name?

Valerie: Yes, dear. We were just getting ready to leave. Have you seen the others?

Peter: Well, I think Micky was just at the counter...

(Mike and Emma walk up, hand in hand. Each holds a bag.)

Mike: (Grins) Well, at least we'll never run out of postcards.

Emma: That's the truth. (Turns to the others) Ready to head out?

Mike: I know I am. I hope Micky didn't get lost in the food aisle or somethin'.

Emma: If he was, we would have heard the screams by now.

Micky: *Wanders over* I'm here! I got hung up behind those two guys. That one guy has still complaining about not getting his pendant.

Peter: Maybe he could fine something pineapple-themed that was less expensive.

Valerie: Before his friend kills him.

Micky: He still had the shirt in hand.

*Davy and Daphne join them.*

Davy: Ready, mates.

Mike: Why don't we all split up now? This mall is only three blocks long. We can explore different stores, then meet back here at the lunch counter and compare our finds.

Emma: That sounds good. I want to check out the bookstore.

Mike: (Grins at Micky) I think there's a toy store on the other end of this block.

Micky: I'm there.

Valerie: I saw a few clothes' stores.

Peter: There's some gift shops specializing in native crafts and shells. I want to see those. We could buy t-shirts and clothes anywhere.

Mike: Ok, everyone. Let's go. Time's a wastin'.

("My Share of the Sidewalk" begins as the entire group heads out. Peter stops by a window filled with jewelry and furniture items made of shells. He walks into the small building...and walks out with a shell-covered lamp and several necklaces and bracelets.)

(Mike and Emma explore a Christmas shop filled from top to bottom with beautiful glass ornaments. Mike admires one in the shape of a guitar. Emma picks up an ornament in the shape of a director's clapper.)

*Micky and Lauren go to the toy store. Micky looks at the toy models. Lauren watches as Shawn and Gus play with an Erector Set.*

(Emma and Mike are also in the toy store. Mike looks at little wooden trains for Robbie with magnets on the ends that allow them to hook together. Emma points out the "Thomas the Tank Engine" books. They were some of her brother's favorites when he was little, and she thinks Robbie might like them, too.)

(Valerie and Daphne try on Indian-print dresses and blouses at the clothes' store.)

(Peter and Davy stop to admire the breads shaped like shells, crabs, and boats in the front window of the bakery. Some of the bread is studded with tiny real shells.)

(Valerie and Daphne watch a young man mix fudge in a huge copper kettle in the front window of a candy store.)

(Emma and Mike watch a couple get married in front of the huge old stone church. They hold hands and lean against each other.)

*Micky and Davy wander through a store with a bunch of cheap t-shirts with funny quotes, practical joke items, and small toys.*

(Valerie and Daphne find a small store with beautiful blankets, clothes, toys and books from many Island nations, including some that are nowhere near Coconut Island, like Japan and Cuba.)

(Cut back to the lunch counter at Dellas' Five and Ten as the song ends. Mike and Emma are there first, both laden with bags.)

Emma: I think we did pretty well.

Mike: Hopefully, this will keep Katie from complainin' 'bout not bein' able to come with us.

*Micky and Lauren arrive next.*

Mike: Hi, Mick. You look like you had a good time.

Micky: Yeah, we did.

Lauren: Quite entertaining, to say the least.

(Peter and Valerie arrive next. Valerie shows off her new embroidered dress.)

Valerie: Isn't it stylish? I'm going to wear it to dinner.

Peter: And I have some wonderful things for birthday presents.

*Davy and Daphne arrive last, each carrying a bag.*

Valerie: How did you two do after Daphne and I left the clothing store?

Daphne: We went into the Christmas store...

Davy: And we found the mistletoe.

Mike: Only you guys could find the mistletoe in February.

Valerie: (Looks at her watch) Why don't we have lunch here, then go back to our rooms and relax before dinner?

Emma: (Shrugs) Sounds good to me.

(We fade out on the group at the counter...and fade in on what looks like the outdoor cafe. Everyone now wears good clothes as they arrive at the main entrance.)

Mike: I can't believe this is our last night.

Emma: (Nods) We're going back tomorrow.

Peter: As much as I've enjoyed it, I've missed the kids...ours and the ones I teach. :)

Valerie: (Sighs) And I have so much work to catch up on...

Mike: So do I.

(A waiter leads them to a large table in the center of the cafe and helps seat everyone.)

Mike: So, did ya'll have a good time?

Emma: I know I did.

Peter: Haven't had such a good time in ages!

Micky: I sure did.

Valerie: I knew this was a good idea.

Lauren: I almost hate to leave.

Daphne: An absolutely lovely time.

Davy: Couldn't have been better, mates.

Mike: I wish we could do this all the time. It's been...nice. (Shakes his head) I don't think things are gonna stay this nice. My nose is still sensin' danger.
