(Fade in on the MonkeeCave. All is peaceful. The machines are dark, but the crystal sparkles as light from the morning sun filters through the entrance. Thick blue velvet pillows lay on the couch in the center room. The peace of the morning is broken as Alex, Sheila, and Zelda head into the cave. As the camera follows them, we hear the sound of someone else landing, but we don't see them.)
Male Voice: (From off-camera; only the outline of his shadow is seen in the morning sun) Yes. I told you we'd find plenty of crystal here.
Sheila: Oh, I knew we would. It's just a matter of not being booted out by the Savage's security system the moment we touch it. :p
Alex: Right, which us exactly why I came up with my plan. Soon, we'll have all the crystal we need. ;)
Male Voice: Don't worry about the security system. I know the Savage well...and how to dismantle the system.
Sheila: Well, Alex? How are we going to get all of this crystal out of here without hurting ourselves or letting the Guardians know about it?
Alex: Where's the fun in telling you what's going to happen? All I'm going to say is that when everyone leaves, EVERYONE really should leave.
Sheila: Somehow, that doesn't surprise me.
Male Voice: (From over by the equipment) I just finished with the wiring on the security system. You should be free to work now.
Sheila: We'll need to take whatever we can from here first.
Alex: Let’s grab some crystal!
Male Voice: We could take what we can of the equipment, too.
Sheila: I'm not chipping away at all this crystal! It would take days, and anyway, I just had my nails done.
Male Voice: Just use your Imagination Powers!
Alex: Thank you. *rolls his eyes*
(There's a very dark blue light around the cave. When it subsides, the cave has been completely stripped of it's crystal and now looks like an ordinary rock cave.)
Sheila: Certainly looks different in here. (She concentrates - the monitor and other equipment disappears)
*Alex transports all of Micky's chemicals and tools. Zelda transports the furniture and most of what's left.*
Sheila: That's everything.
Male Voice: Let's get out of here. They'll be arriving soon, and I need to get home.
Alex: And I need to prepare to look innocent.
*Zelda smirks.*
*Alex sets up his small explosion, then ushers the others to the entrance. The explosion goes off, charring the insides of the Cave and making it appear as though everything inside was lost to the explosion.*
Alex: *wide grin* Perfect.
Male Voice: Good work, Alex. Now, I have to get out of here, before they see me.
Alex: *checks his watch* They should be here any minute.
Male Voice: (He's still in the shadows) Then I have to leave. I'll see you tonight at the next Club Caprice show. (There's a dark blue light...and the shadow vanishes)
Sheila: I'd best be going myself. I don't particularly want to be attacked by all of the Guardians at once, and I KNOW some of them can be grumpy in the morning.
Zelda: And now they're going to be REALLY grumpy.
Sheila: Ta ta! (She black light outs just in time. The MonkeeMobile, Rosemarie, a blue GTO, and Rosemarie the blue Corvette drive up to the cave only seconds after she leaves.)
*Alex and Zelda turn around, gazing into the Cave with shocked looks on their faces.*
Mike: (He gets out first) Ok, everybody out and into the cave. (Frowns when he sees Alex) We were wonderin' where you guys were. I tried callin' ya, but I got your answerin' service. What's wrong?
Alex: Well, I was trying to do something nice for you guys and rig up some equipment, but the whole thing exploded.
Mike: WHAT!
Emma: Oh, that's nothing new. Mick always blows things up in the Cave.
Micky: *wide eyed; pushes past Mike & Emma* How bad?
Alex: *frowns* Real bad.
Micky: Noo! *runs inside; his sobbing can be heard outside*
Davy: Mates, this isn't good.
Lauren: Mick! *follows in after him*
Mike: Micky!
(Mike and Lauren go after Micky. They find him on the ground, sobbing at the blocked entrance of the cave.)
Lauren: *rubs his back* Aw, Mick.
Davy: *joins them* Bloody 'ell.
Mike: Oh my god... (he heads for the entrance)
Emma: Mike, no! It doesn't look safe! (She goes after him)
Alex: *with Zelda beside him* It was an accident, I swear. I didn't know this would happen.
Valerie: Alex, how COULD you?
Alex: I didn't do it on purpose!
Valerie: Why can't you and Micky be more careful?
Micky: *sits upon when he hears his name* I NEVER did THIS MUCH damage! You ruined the Cave!
*Lauren quickly grabs Micky around the waist, holding onto him.*
Alex: *steps back* It was an accident!
Valerie: Micky! Don't kill him!
Micky: *nearly starts dragging Lauren with him, trying to get at Alex* You son of a bitch!
Lauren: Micky! Stop it!
Mike: Damn it! Damn, damn! (He storms back into the entrance) I can't even get INTO the damn cave! It's blocked. From what I could see, the Cave is totaled. There's nothin' left. (Growls at Alex) You bastard!
Emma: Mike, calm down! We were going to look for a new place anyway, remember? Sheila knows the Cave too well. We've been planning on leaving here for months.
Mike: Yeah, but AFTER we moved all our stuff first! We lost all our equipment and tools and Micky's chemicals and parts!
Alex: It was an ACCIDENT!
Zelda: *grabs Alex's arm* I think we should go.
Micky: Yeah, you'd BETTER go, before I THROW you out!
*Micky roars and starts for Alex. Lauren loses her grip on Micky and lands on the ground, unharmed. She drums her fingers and sighs. Zelda barely has a second to move away before Micky slams into Alex, causing the two to go tumbling, kicking up a dust storm.*
Davy: Wot should we do?
*Cartoon stars and fists appear in the midst of the dust storm.*
Mike: Kill that little jerk! (He lunges for the pair, but Emma takes his arm)
Emma: Honey, don't. Let Micky and Alex handle this on their own. I know Micky's wanted a piece of Alex ever since the incident with those 30 ladies three years ago.
Lauren: *gets up and brushes herself off* Right. There's nothing we can do. This was bound to happen.
*Micky and Alex continue to fight, swinging fists, kicking, and body slamming each other. Eventually, both are sprawled on the ground, dirty, bruised, and breathing heavily. Zelda carefully goes to Alex and makes them disappear in a black light.*
Davy: *looks at his watch* We should've timed that. :
Lauren: *goes over* Micky! Mick? *kneels next to him*
Lauren: Are you hurt?
Micky: *cracks his eyes open* Where'slittlebastard?
Emma: He and Zelda left.
Mike: Mick, man, you ok? (He knees on Micky's other side)
*Micky lets out a wail, then sits up and leans into Lauren, almost knocking her over as he sobs again.*
Lauren: He isn't okay.
Mike: Yeah, that's how I feel too, Mick.
Emma: I don't think any of us are ok.
*Davy and Daphne watch mutely, arms around each other.*
Emma: I really don't know what to do now. Where are we going to go?
Mike: We don't have a choice. We'll have to go to one of the houses until we can find a new place for the MonkeeLeague to meet.
Lauren: How about our house? We have the space...
Mike: It's either going to be your house or the Montgomery House. Davy and Daphne's house and the Pad don't have the room.
Valerie: Maybe it had better be your house. (She sighs) I'm worried about Peter. He was gone even before I got up this morning. I left Jordan with Barbara Marion.
Lauren: Ours it is, then.
Mike: What is WITH Pete? I smelled somethin' really nasty on him at the Club Caprice last night. That boy ain't right.
Valerie: That's putting it mildly. I've had chest pains for over two months now, since before he was arrested. (Sighs) And I'm wondering about (rubs her stomach) other things, too.
Micky: *looks up; his face and eyes are red; hiccupping* Need...to leave... *shakes his head* Don't...wanna stay...anymore. *starts trying to get up with Lauren’s help*
Mike: There's no reason to. This place is useless to us now. (He goes to Micky's other side. He and Lauren finally get Micky on his feet)
Ursula: (As they all come outside) Oh, dear. From the long faces, I'm going to say that rumble we heard as we arrived was definitely NOT thunder.
Rosemarie: What happened?
Mike: The cave's gone. That bastard Alex blew it up while we were on our way here. (Growls) And I don't for a moment believe it was an "accident." I know the look on his face when he said that. It's the same look Micky gets when he does somethin' crazy an' don't wanna get in trouble.
Micky: *through sniffles* I heard that.
Ursula: My sister was involved. (Sighs) I never got a chance to tell you. She was here. I felt her. (Growls) And she was almost disgustingly happy about it.
Mike: Damn it to hell, Alex IS still workin' for her.
Emma: We don't know that, Baby. Sheila may have gotten here before they did. She is closer to the desert than we are.
Ursula: Well, what are we going to do now?
Mike: I don't know. We're gonna go to Micky and Lauren's house to figure it out.
Davy: *nods* We'll figure something out.
Ursula: We'd best be careful, then. Sheila and Alex know of our activities, and we no longer have the monitor to keep track of them.
Mike: Right. Everyone meet back at Micky and Lauren's house as soon as you get into Malibu Beach. Bring your kids. Might as well have them there. I want to make sure the entire group is here...because the MonkeeLeague is going to have to make some major changes.
(Fade out on the four vehicles leaving the remains of the Cave. The camera follows them in a long tracking shot down the highway, past a sign that says "Malibu Beach Ramp Exit 14A," and into downtown Malibu Beach. Fade out on the cars, and cut to a shot of all four cars parked in the driveway and along the curb in front of Micky and Lauren's house.)
(The camera fades in on the Rainbow Room. Katie sits in her father's lap on the bandstand. Robbie sits in his mother's next to them.)
*The twins run around, playing Tag. Lauren has Leah in her lap. Micky sits next to them with an ice pack on his forehead, partially covering his eyes.*
*Davy and Daphne sit on the love seat, Lizzie sitting on Davy's lap.*
Mike: Ok, we're all just about here.
Valerie: (She comes in holding Jordan's hand) Sorry I'm late, everyone. I had to pick up Jordan from Barbara Marion.
Jordan: Hi! (He runs over to the twins) How are you?
Mick: Okay! How're you?
Jordan: I'm good! Mrs. Marion and I made cupcakes! They had orange frosting! I like orange!
Shelly: Cupcakes sound yummy!
Valerie: (Smiles) Just like his daddy. He loves fall colors.
Mike: Ok, now that we're all here, we'll all get settled down, 'cause we've got a LOT to talk about.
Jordan: (Frowns and sits next to the twins) What's going on? Unca Mike looks upset.
Mick: *nods* Something bad happened. Daddy has a bad headache and isn't happy either.
Davy: Where do we start?
Mike: First of all, we'd better take stock of our assets. Em, Urse, and I talked this over while we were pickin' up the kids from Grace Parker's house. We did lose a lot in the explosion, but not everything.
*Micky groans faintly.*
Emma: (Whips out a list) We still have the uniforms, Ursula and Rosemarie, any parts and tools in Micky and the Pad's garages, and our communicators. Mike still has his motorcycle and it was fixed and given new tires after last fall's big flood. How's the rest of the motorcycles?
Valerie: Peter's is in our shed. We fixed it after the flood last year, but I don't know how well it works or if he's used it recently.
Davy: I 'ad mine out last week.
Lauren: Mick's is up and running, too.
Emma: But most of all (she taps her head) we still have these.
*Micky snorts.*
Lauren: Debatable... *Micky elbows her*
Mike: (As everyone else chuckles or snorts) We need to find a new location for a hide-out. We were going to abandon the other one anyway. It was gettin' too well-known. We need to find somewhere the Devils won't figure out.
Valerie: Why can't we stay at one of our houses?
Emma: (Shakes her head) I don't want the Devils to be attracted to our homes. It's bad enough they've breached the security systems several times. And I don't want to use your father's mansion either, Val. It's large and it's lovely, but not only is Beverly Hills not the best place to be practicing our skills, but it's surrounded by other mansions. We'd have a LOT of explaining to do if someone saw us. Your dad and Chrissy still live there, too, along with all your servants.
Mike: And it's not just the hide-out, either. (Deep breath) I think it's time to revamp the MonkeeLeague.
Micky: *lifts his head, sliding the ice pack from his face; his eyes are still red* How so?
Mike: We need new uniforms. The orange is ugly and the Ms are as obvious as you can get. The motorcycles could use a revamp, too. And of course, we'll need new, upgraded equipment now that we've lost our original ones.
Emma: We need to work on our skills, too, and upgrade THEM.
Mike: Mick, you and I could work on the motorcycles and the cars. We could scrounge around in local auto parts and hardware stores.
Micky: *nods* I'd like that. *presses the ice pack back to his forehead*
Valerie: I know some costumers in Hollywood who might be willing to whip us up designs for new, improved uniforms.
Emma: The rest of us ladies and children will discuss possible locations for our new hide-out.
Mike: Dave, I want you to talk to Peter. There's somethin' goin' on with him, and he ain't even talkin' to Val. Maybe he'll finally spill somethin' to you.
Davy: *nods* I'll try.
Mike: Ok, everyone, let's get crackin'.
Valerie: I'll call the costumers right away. (She heads for the phone in the kitchen)
Emma: Lauren, Daph, you and I need to find a map of the area and see what we can find that's secluded enough for the Devils NOT to find us.
Mike: Mick, if you're feelin' better, you and I can start makin' the rounds of the local hardware and car stores.
Micky: *nods* It'll take my mind off of it.
Mike: Me too, Mick. I just can't shake the feelin' that Alex did this on purpose.
Micky: I KNOW he did.
Mike: Calm down, Mick. There ain't no way we can prove it.
(The kids gather together as Daphne joins Emma on the bandstand, Lauren goes to find a map, and Mike and Micky head out.)
Katie: Ok guys, we've gotta talk about this. (The kids all sit in a circle, Robbie next to his sister)
Robbie: Talk 'bout wha?
Katie: We're gonna have to help the grown-ups too. (Smiles) We'll think of ways!
Jordan: I know we can!
(And we fade out on the kids' hopeful faces as they chatter and their mothers check the map.)
