Everyone ready for a little Christmas wrapping? ;)

Mike: Count me out of this one. I have to finish my shoppin' and talk to a sheet music printin' company in LA.

Peter: Sure! It's great to help out during the holidays. :)

Micky: You bet! :D

Davy: I have to finish my shopping, too. Besides, I don't trust being near Mick while wrapping.

(We open at a booth on the first floor of what looks like the Stainton's Department Store set from "Department Store Monkees." The booth is surrounded by what looks like vinyl flaps. The flaps are pulled up to reveal Peter and Micky. Peter finishes pulling up the other flaps while Micky pulls out scissors, tape, wrapping paper, ribbon, and bows.)

Peter: Getting this job at the wrapping booth was a great idea, Mick! We get to help people and earn a little extra shopping money! They even give us a store discount!

Micky: Yeah! Plus, we get to have fun doing this, too!

Peter: And it's getting busier every day. We've had more and more orders come in.

(Peter grabs some boxes. He opens the first one.)

Peter: Looks like we have some sports items. I see balls, helmets, and gloves. (He pulls some long sticks, like thinner versions of Emma's field hockey stick, over to them) And here's the hockey sticks.

Micky: *grins* Well, should we make them recognizable, or not?

Peter: With the hockey sticks, we don't have much choice. We'll never find anything to fit THOSE. We should be able to find boxes that'll hide everything else.

Micky: Maybe we could just stick bows on them. *Picks up a bow and sticks it in his curls* Kinda like this.

Peter: (Laughs) That's a nice look for you.

Micky: Thanks!

Peter: I guess we could. There's really no hiding them. (He tries to shove a football into a box) Darn it! This one just...won't...go...

Micky: Hmmm...hang on, Pete...

*Micky pulls out a pair of scissors and makes a few well placed cuts in the cardboard box, then folds the flaps neatly over the still-exposed part of the football. The box now completely covers the football. Micky grins.*

Peter: Very nice. I was about ready to put a hole in that thing and shove it in that way.

Micky: With three younger sisters, I HAD to learn how to wrap odd-shaped items.

Peter: (Takes a small box) Gloves are easy. Wanna do the helmet?

Micky: Sure! Might have to use the football trick again.

*Micky picks up the helmet and spins it between his fingers, trying to decide how to make it fit in the box.*

Peter: (As he wraps one set of gloves and reaches for ribbon) How's it coming? (Tries to shake off a ribbon that attaches itself to his hand) Darn it...

*A finely wrapped package lands in front of Peter, with ribbon and all.*

Micky: *grins* I'd say I did pretty well. You look like you're being attacked by the ribbon.

Peter: (Shakes off the ribbon again) Just a little. You did a nice job, Mick!

Micky: Thanks, Pete. *Shrugs* It just kinda comes naturally. Of course, like I said, all the practice helps, too.

Peter: (Nods at a large pile of unwrapped gifts) I wouldn't cheer just yet, Mick. It's less than a week before Christmas. That's just what we have to wrap this morning!

(Peter picks up a large, square box. As he puts it on a sheet of wrapping paper, something pops out of it. Peter jumps back.)

Micky: What's that?

Peter: Whoa! (He goes back to take a closer look at it and ends up laughing when he sees a little man in a clown suit on a spring) It's just a jack-in-the-box. (He pushes the man back...but he just springs out again)

Micky: I've got an idea, Pete. Take a piece of ribbon and tie it over the lid. That'll keep Jack in the box.

Peter: I'll try. (He does as Micky says...but Jack just breaks through the ribbon!)

Micky: Tie some around both sides.

Peter: Maybe I just need stronger ribbon. (He ties thick yarn around both sides and finishes in a bow.) There.

Micky: So far, so good.

Peter: (Puts Jack aside) Jack reminded me. Let's do the toys. They'll probably be the hardest, anyway. Many of them come in weird shapes. You take the boys' toys, and I'll take the girls' toys.

Micky: Works for me.

Peter: Ok. (He picks up a pile of Barbie dolls) Let's see. I think these are all supposed to go to the same family of little girls. I'd better make sure I remember to label which girl gets Christie, and which girl gets Skipper!

Micky: Yeah, we don't want them arguing with each other over who gets which one.

Peter: I think I'll use the pink and silver wrapping paper. Seems right for girls. (Reaches for a roll)

*Micky grabs a couple rolls of general, cartoony paper and starts picking boxes and toys. He measures paper and uses the cutter to get a straight edge. Then, he goes about wrapping the boxed gifts while whistling Christmas tunes.*

Peter: Let's see...ow! (He pulls back from a plastic box holding a large doll in a ruffled dress) I cut myself on this box! Micky, do we have any band-aids here?

Micky: *nods* Yeah, got some right under here. *Reaches under and produces a band-aid* Here you go, Pete.

Peter: Thank you. (He applies the band-aid and continues wrapping)

(Peter works on curling ribbon. He pulls a little too hard on one and accidentally ends up pulling the ribbon apart.)

Peter: Oh, darn. And that was my last roll. Do you have any more red ribbon over there, Mick?

Micky: *looks underneath again* Yup! *hands the roll to Peter*

*Micky returns to curling his own ribbon, relatively effortlessly.*

Peter: (Sighs) How do you do it?

Micky: *shrugs* it's just a knack, I guess.

Peter: Why don't you do the ribbon and I wrap the actual presents? (Groans as a stock boy adds several more boxes to the pile, including some in odd shapes) Oh boy.

Micky: *puts an arm around Peter's shoulders* I'll do the ribbon, but I'm helping you wrap, too. We can DO this, Pete!

Peter: (Smiles) Yeah! Of course we can!

(Two stock boys add more boxes to the pile, including some very large ones.)

Peter: (Sighs and turns back to Micky) Of course, we may be here until Easter doing it.

Micky: *Grins slyly and taps the side of his head* Just remember, when natural ability just can't cut it, there's always a little help right at our fingertips.

Peter: Yeah Mick, but we're in the middle of a busy department store at Christmas time. People are watching us.

Micky: So we mute the light and only use it to keep our fingers agile. *Wiggles the fingers of his free hand.*

Peter: Well, all right. We only use it our hands are full. (He pulls a huge package out from under the pile) And speaking of full, why don't we both try wrapping this one? It looks like a doll house. One of the really fancy kind, with working lights. Chrissy used to have a doll house like this.

Micky: Sure! Let’s have at it.

(Peter pulls out a huge roll of paper with a red and green plaid print and rolls it on the floor. It takes up almost the entire roll. Micky sets the box on the paper.)

Peter: Ok Mick, you get the ribbon ready, and I'll wrap the box. Hand me the tape, please.

Micky: *hands over the tape* Here you go, Pete. I've got the ribbon ready.

Peter: (He tries to pull the paper up and over the box, but it keeps creasing) Darn it! (Tugs at it a little more)

Micky: Careful, Pete! Don't let it tear!

Peter: I won't! (He struggles with it) Darn it, close!

Micky: Hang on, Pete. Hold it where you are, and I'll tape it closed.

Peter: Got it! (He does so)

*Micky reaches over, pulls off a piece of tape finally manages to get it closed.*

Micky: Yes!

Peter: Great. Now, let's do the other side.

(Peter tugs at the other side...and groans.)

Peter: We're short!

Micky: We are? Umm... *Looks underneath the counter at some other rolls of paper*

Peter: Maybe we could cover it up with another roll.

Micky: *emerges with a somewhat similar roll* Here, we'll fill in the bare spots with pieces of this.

Peter: Thanks. (Cuts a piece to fit the empty spot and covers it) Does that look all right?

Micky: Yeah, it does!

Peter: Great! Ok Mick, it's all yours! Ribbon away!

Micky: And away we go! *Curls ribbon of various colors and attaches them together, then arranges them on the package; steps away to admire his work* Not bad, if I do say so myself.

Peter: It's really nice, Mick! So colorful!

Micky: Thanks, Pete.

Peter: And now... (he looks at the pile) we do the other five hundred.

("Just Like All Of Your Toys" begins as Peter picks up the tennis rackets. Hmmm, how to wrap these...)

(Peter gets a light over his head. He makes the wrapping paper into large bags and easily slides the tennis rackets into the bags. He hands them to Micky to tie closed.)

((More boxes are dropped on the pile as Peter starts looking around for ribbon for Micky.)

(Peter hands the ribbon to Micky. You do the ribbon. You're so much better at it! He hands him the bags and several wrapped packages as he wraps another huge one. This one is a tricycle.)

*Micky goes to town with the ribbon, curling and tying it.*

(Peter ducks the ribbon. When Micky turns around, Peter's tangled in his leftovers.)

*Micky sheepishly helps pull the leftovers off of Peter.*

(Peter shakes the last of the ribbon off of him. It just doesn't like him.)

(Peter pushes another, even larger box to Micky. We're gonna need a LOT of paper for this one!)

*Micky raises an eyebrow at Peter. Where are all these HUGE gifts coming from?!*

(Peter shrugs. Lots of rich kids?)

*Micky makes a face. He doesn't buy it, but goes along with it.*

(Peter rolls out another sheet of paper. Will this be enough?)

*Micky shakes his head. Nope, we need some more.*

(Peter rolls out the entire roll of paper. How's this?)

*Micky nods. That should work.*

(Peter slides the box onto the paper. He tries to close the paper...and ends up pushing the box off of it again. He pushes the box back onto the paper and accidentally tears the paper. They need more paper, Mick!)

*Micky shakes his head, puts an index finger to his lips in a "shhh" motion, the drags his other index finger over the tear, sealing it with Imagination power.*

(Peter blushes. Thanks! He goes back to wrapping the present, then turns it over for Micky to ribbon. He pulls out several smaller boxes to wrap.)

*Micky does his amazing job with the ribbon again, his movements blurring with speed.*

(Peter just shakes his head as he wraps several large action figures. He makes a face and shoves aside two cap guns. Do they have to give the kids those?)

*Micky walks by the cap guns, waving a hand over them. The suddenly become frisbees.*

(Peter grins. Less violent AND easier to wrap!)

(Peter hands Micky the rounded Frisbees to cover in ribbon. See if you can do these!)

*Micky just grins. His ribbon-wrapping becomes a blur. When he's done, there's several loops of ribbon around each Frisbee with a big bow of ribbon at the center.*

Peter: (Sighs and puts aside several wrapped packages as the music ends) You never cease to amaze me, Mick.

Micky: *bows slightly* Just call me the Ninja of Wrapping.

Peter: (Looks at his watch) I think it's just about time for lunch. Maybe we could head over to Jacques Cafe for...for... (Peter's jaw drops open and his eyes widen)

Micky: Pete?

(Peter just points up...and up...at a huge package almost bigger than the booth that the stock boys are carting over!)

Micky: All right, this is getting ridiculous!

(Peter finally closes his eyes and passes out on the sea of wrapping paper on the floor of the booth.)

*Micky puts his arms out in a "Why me?" motion, then kneels next to Peter, trying to awaken him.*

Peter: (Murmurs) Another five minutes, Val...

(We fade out on Micky trying to revive Peter as the stock boys settle the huge package next to the booth.)
