Ready to party? ;)

Micky: I'm ready! ;)

Mike: Uh-huh.

Davy: I am.

(We open back at the party. Emma sighs and looks around, sipping a soda.)

Emma: Lauren, have you seen Mick, Mike, or Davy around?

Lauren: *shakes her head* Nope. Some party. My husband can't even hang around for a few minutes.

Emma: I haven't seen Mike since our dinner. (Grins at Lauren) Did you know about that?

Laure: Yeah, I did. It was a great idea.

Emma: It was. (Blushes) Lauren, are Mike and I too bossy?

Lauren: Do you want the truth, or the answer you want to hear?

Emma: I think we're ready to hear the truth.

Lauren: Um, yeah, you kinda are.

Emma: (Sighs) I guess that's why we fight so much. We both want to be in control.

Lauren: No kidding.

Emma: From now on, just tell us if it bothers you, ok?

Lauren: Will do.

Kimberly: (She and Jenny come out; Maxine is sitting in John's lap, nibbling his ear) Hi, girls! How's things?

Emma: Kim, what do you want?

Jenny: (Turns to her friend) I TOLD you it was obvious!

Kimberly: Wanna see if there's anything really weird on late night TV?

Emma: Um, no. I hate monster movies.

Lauren: I'd be willing to watch. I don't seem to be doing anything else at the moment.

Jenny: Yeah! Come on! (She grabs Lauren's arm and pulls her into the living room)

Kimberly: THAT was close! (Turns to the window) Ok, boys, you can haul 'er in!

Lauren: What the...

Jenny: Kim, I don't have her all the way out yet!

Emma: Her who?

Lauren: What is going ON?

(Mike, Micky, and Davy drag a huge black bag in with the pile of presents that were brought into the living room.)

John: What IS that?

Danny: I hope there's no bodies in that bag.

Micky: *straightens, dusting his hands off; goes to Lauren* Babe, I'm really sorry about not remembering our anniversary and kinda ignoring you during this party. I didn't mean to. This gift *motions to the bag* is for you. Happy belated anniversary.

Lauren: *her expression softens* Thank you, Mick.

Mike: Em, yours is at our house. I couldn't get it in the car.

Emma: Thank you too, Baby.

Maxine: Well, what is it?

Danny: Does it eat Tokyo?

*Lauren goes to the large bag and finds the open end. She pushes the bag down to reveal a HUGE stuffed teddy bear holding a rose.*

Jenny: Whoa!

Maxine: Now THAT'S a man.

Lauren: Oh my...

*Micky looks around, whistling innocently.*

Tilly: Cool! (Looks at Marcus) Why don't you ever get me a bear that size?

Marcus: It wouldn't fit in our apartment.

Lauren: Mick! *wraps him in a huge hug* Thank you!

Emma: It's beautiful!

Mike: (Grins) How about a toast? (He picks up a beer can) To Lauren and Micky. Many more years of madness...and huge bears.

Davy: Isn't that the truth?

(Lots of "Here heres!" from those who are somewhat lucid.)

Micky: And I'd like to toast Mike and Emma. To many more years of doing less arguing and being more understanding.

Mike: (As Emma blushes) Here's hopin', Mick.

Chris: Hey, how about we open everythin' else now?

(Fade out on Lauren and Micky reaching for a gift; fade back in on the Rainbow Room. Emma and Mike are surrounded by a sea of boxes. The two are picking up wrapping paper. Daphne and Davy return what little food remains to the kitchen. Valerie sweeps the floor.)

Emma: (Smiles at Lauren and Micky as they come back in) Did you get Kim and Jen off safely?

Lauren: Yeah. They'll be fine.

Valerie: Thanks for inviting me, guys.

Mike: Shame other people couldn't come....

Valerie: (Shakes her head) I think it's too soon after leaving the group. Peter still needs to figure a lot of things out.

Emma: Val, he may not be a member of the band anymore, but he's still our friend.

Valerie: I don't think he thinks so.

Emma: Well, Jordan's certainly still invited over whenever he wants.

Mike: Yeah, Katie misses him. He's her best buddy.

Valerie: Jordan misses her. I think it's so cute, how close they are.

Emma: So do I.

Mike: Yeah, and Jordan's a real nice kid. Half the time he's so quiet, if it weren't for Katie, you'd never know he was there.

Emma: (Grins at Lauren) Unlike some other kiddies I know.

Mike: You can hear the twins from about twenty miles away.

Lauren: Yeah yeah.

Valerie: This actually ended up being a fun party.

Mike: Thanks for letting us and the kids stay here for the night again. Some of us ain't up for drivin'.

Micky: No problem.

Emma: I'm just glad the kids slept through everything. I didn't feel like dragging them away from the party.

Mike: I just hope they don't try to wake us up early again.

Emma: Well, I haven't heard anything.

Mike: (Looks up, ears practically pricking) Do you hear something?

Emma: (Frowns) What's that slurping sound?

Mike: It's in the lanai.

Micky: Lets check it out...

Mike: (Concentrates. There's a dark blue light; he now holds a baseball bat) Maybe we should be armed, just in case.

Emma: Good idea, honey. However, (takes the bat) maybe someone with a steadier hand should hold that. :

Mike: Spoil sport.

(Everyone wanders out to the now-dark lanai.)

Voice 1: (Between slurps) Wha's that?

Voice 2: Must be mice or somethin'. (Slurping resumes)

Mike: (To Micky) Ok, on my count, you turn on the light, and Em'll get 'em. One..two...THREE! Micky, hit it!

*Micky flicks the light swtich, bathing the room in light...*

(Two figures emerge from under the table. Maxine pulls her skirt back on, and John zippers his pants.)

Emma: Oh, for goodness' sake!

Mike: What are you two doin' under there?

John: Nocturnal activities.

(Maxine gets up as well as she can and hurries off, her face bright red.)

John: Maxie, wait! Let's hit the beach! (Grins) She's crazy about me.

Mike: I can see that.

John: If I could just get her out there...Max! Wait! (He follows her out the door)

Emma: (Sighs) Maybe we ought to do a thorough inspection of the house to make sure no one else is lingering in strange corners.

Mike: Right. God only knows where this crowd's wandered off to.

Emma: Mick and Lauren, take the upstairs. Remember, the kids are sleeping. Val, check outside. The rest of us will stay down here.

(Everyone spreads out as "Pillow Time" begins. Mike checks a dark corner, but only ends up bonking his nose on a table.)

(Emma pulls Chris out of a closet. He's snoring on the stacked blankets.)

(Valerie peeks around some shrubbery. She shakes a pair of teenagers and tells them it's way past their bedtimes.)

(Mike and Emma run into each other in the dark living room. They curse a blue streak, rubbing their noses.)

*Micky tugs on a closet door on the second floor. Lauren stands by, arms folded. She moves Micky aside, then knocks on the door. The door opens and Nyles tumbles out.*

(Daphne checks in a bathroom. She screams when she thinks she sees a reflection in a mirror. It turns out to be Davy primping.)

(Everyone ends up in the living room as Lauren and Micky carry Nyles downstairs.)

Mike: What the heck happened to him?

Micky: Judging from how he smells, nothing good.

Emma: What are we going to do with him? Should someone drive him home?

Mike: Maybe he could sleep in the backyard.

Emma: Lauren, you're still sober. Maybe you could take him home, or at least to Jack's apartment.

Mike: Or we could call Jack to pick him up.

Valerie: I'll do it. I'll take him home. I'm not in a hurry to go home to an empty house, anyway.

Mike: Take him to Jack's place at the Orange Grove Apartments. He'll know what to do with him.

Micky: Just leave him on the lawn chair outside the door. He'll find him.

Valerie: I just hope it doesn't rain. Who wants to help me carry him outside?

Davy: I will. Daph, get his other side, will ya?

Daphne: Great. (She and Davy pick up Nyles on one side; Valerie gets the other. All three haul Nyles out)

Valerie: (On her way out) Thank you for the party, everyone! Happy anniversary!

Emma: You're welcome, Val! (She turns to those remaining) Shall we turn in?

Mike: Yeah. (He nuzzles her ear) Let's celebrate.

Emma: Oooh, Miiiikkkeee...

Mike: We'll be down here if you need us.

Micky: And we’ll be busy up here! *He picks up Lauren and carries her upstairs*

Lauren: *Laughs* Miiiicckkk, you’ll wake the kids!

Micky: Nahh, they’re sound asleep. If the party didn’t wake them up, there’s no way we will. *Smiles as they disappear upstairs* Happy anniversary, Babe.

Lauren: Happy anniversary, Mick.

(The camera ends on Mike and Emma kissing and nuzzling...and the sounds of love-making upstairs.)
